THE GREAT COLORADO ELK HUNT
Bowhntr replied to stevebeilgard's topic in Announcements & Online Contests
Re: THE GREAT COLORADO ELK HUNT Silvertip, When did they do away with the CC#. I had to have mine last year when I applied for my preference point. Plus how are they going to track points now they were being assigned to CC#'s. One other thing, you said totally online. Are they not sending out regulation and application books anymore? -
HEAD-COUNT (THE GREAT CO. ELK HUNT)
Bowhntr replied to buckee's topic in Announcements & Online Contests
Re: HEAD-COUNT (THE GREAT CO. ELK HUNT) I need to know what unit we are looking at. I already have plans for a rifle hunt in unit 33 for the same dates. However, my partner is saying he may not be able to go. If he backs out on unit 33 I'll be there with bells on. I aleady have the vacation scheduled so all I gotta do is leave. -
THE GREAT COLORADO ELK HUNT

Re: THE GREAT COLORADO ELK HUNT Buckee, Fishing isn't dictated as much by time of year as location. Different stretches of water have different regulations. If I remember right they are called like gold, red, and blue ribbon water. Each designation has a different set of regulations. Some are fly only, some are spinning, catch and release, slot size limits, etc. Anyway it's more about where you fish and not when. -
THE GREAT COLORADO ELK HUNT

Re: THE GREAT COLORADO ELK HUNT Huntin Girl, True the Bull Elk tags are OTC. However if you have never hunted Colorado before you will have to contact the DOW and get a Conservation Certificate number or CC#. This CC# will the be your "identity" to Colorado DOW. You use that number everytime you apply for a tag or buy licenses. The certificate itself becomes your license when you get the tag. There are 7 or 8 spaces on the back of the certificate for you to put the sticker for the tag that you have. When a certificate is full you just request a new one. I hope this helps -
Re: NASCAR does it again Yep this is getting out of hand. Here is my idea that would fix the whole thing. You have a rule book...if you break a rule in that book qualifying you are parked, sit out the race, end of story. Break a rule in the race, loose the finishing spot and EVERYTHING that goes with it....points, money etc. I guarantee you that the GREY AREA would suddenly become a whole lot more black and white to these crew chiefs that push the envelope.

Ultimate Nascar Bet...Miller vs Bud, CHECK IT OUT!
Bowhntr replied to IllinoisArcher's topic in NASCAR and Sports
Re: Ultimate Nascar Bet...Miller vs Bud, CHECK IT OUT! Too many variables. Would they reset for the chase, would it be all 36 races combined point total, would it just be the first 26 races. I'm glad Jr and Bud told them no. It's just a stunt to put Rubberhead back in the spotlight after last season's drunk driving and police disrespect deal. -
Re: Nascar News Break! [ QUOTE ] Nothing like Jynxing the man. [/ QUOTE ] Think that pretty much summed it up

Does anybody else feel like you watched 4 hours of commercials with an occasional break in of a race? I HATE the coverage when NBC covers a race. I kept count yesterday and at lap 78 we had only saw 32 laps of racing. Plus the longest stretch of uninterupted racing was the first 8 laps after that there were no more than 5 green flag laps without a darn commercial. I understand the sponsorship and all that but I dont need to see 3 minutes of what NBC has coming on for the next week. Maybe when FOX gets it back we can see some racing. ANd what is this "if trouble breaks out we'll break in" Twice they came back from commercial to a yellow flag. Not as it was happening, shucks they were already in the pits before they went back after Truex hit the wall. Sorry just had to vent a little.

Re: Dissappointing 500? The race wasn't too bad but I have seen better. I do think they need to do something to make it easier to pass up front.
-
Re: Report on Knaus........ Well in my opinion the 48 should not be the 500 winner because HE SHOULD NOT HAVE RAN. The car should have been parked. That would get the message across.

Re: Knaus: Cheater or Innovator? Hey, aint that what it is all about...good clean debates. I've seen some get way out of control, but I enjoy a good discussion like what we have had.

THE GREAT COLORADO ELK HUNT
Bowhntr replied to stevebeilgard's topic in Announcements & Online Contests
Re: THE GREAT COLORADO ELK HUNT Send me a PM with the unit #. Depending on the unit it might be better to wait until the First Combined Rifle season and that way all can buy Bull tags over the counter. I've already got the October dates off. I was planning rifle hunt in area 33 but my partner is backing out. If it works I'd love to try this. -
Re: Stupid eye twitch I've had twitches all over the place but the worst are the eyes. I've had abdominal twitches that make my shirt move those are annoying. I don't know what causes them or fixes them. They just eventually go away.

Re: Knaus: Cheater or Innovator? Slugshooter, I agree with every word you said in your last post and in a way it kind of goes toward my point. Yep, the mid 90's was kind of lacking for true contenders week in and week out and that probably helped to add to Gordons numbers. But so were the 80's when it was Earnhardt, Waltrip, Wallace, and Bobby Allison. A few left and a few came up like Davey coming to the top as Waltrip faltered and Bobby retired. I'm not overlooking Yarborough and some of those, I'm just saying that there weren't as many contenders as ther are now. However, when Gordon was having those tremendous seasons the Hendrick stable was smaller than the 5 car "super team" they have now. I think that there was a lot of "R&D" being done on Gordons car that wasn't getting caught. Now Hendrick is using the 48 as the R&D machine and the tighter inspections are catching them. That being said a lot of the "grey area" changes aren't making it to the 24. Truthfully, I think that Knaus is only doing what he is told and unfortunately paying for it. There is none better than Hendrick at pushing the envelope it's always been that way regardless of who the wheel man was. Did Gordon earn his wins and Cups? Yes he did. He still had to hold the car at the front to take the checkers. I just think that back then they weren't looking as hard and there were many "grey areas" that were being exploited. And you are right...Gordon didn't stop winning. He just stopped performing at the level he was 5 or 6 years ago. True there are more contenders now. But if you think about it. There are still very few teams that you can say will be there every Sunday contending for the win. You have better plate teams, and better short track teams, etc.....but very few that can do it all and do it all very well.

NASCAR aims to send message with penalties

Re: NASCAR aims to send message with penalties Again.....slap on the wrist. They want to send a message...PARK IT..period -
Re: Knaus: Cheater or Innovator? Slugshooter, Never once have I said that I am a blatant Gordon hater. Matter of fact I said he was a great driver it is just that his numbers don't add up. You compare him to Pearson or Waltrip based on numbers. Or even Earnhardt, remember Dale had almost 700 starts, started in 1975, and had 76 wins. Pearson and Waltrip also had lengthy carreers with around 80 wins. We are talking about a kid that started in 1992 with as many wins as a 30 year veteran. Give me a break. Like I said he had to be a great driver to keep the car at the front. However, as level of a playing field as NASCAR has developed winning that much is just fishy. Oh, and yes Petty did have 200 wins but that was from an era of 80 races a year and a totally different system. Funny you mentioned how Petty stopped winning with the engine deal, seeing as how Gordon stopped winning with a tighter inspection process

Re: what do you hate about pro sports? That these "athletes" are being payed millions to play a game, and then get attitudes. Over payed thugs comes to mind regarding most of the NBA. Drives me nuts. I'm not much on pro sports because of this very reason.l

Re: Nascar Pool Might give a hard look to Jr. He is coming off the bad year but he has Tony Eury back. They had a real good 1 1/2 mile quad oval program going and the plate tracks. He could win several this year.

Re: Knaus: Cheater or Innovator? You're right...there wasn't as much hullabaloo about the 29 but they did suspend the crew chief just like Knaus. The biggest difference in level of attention is because of the team invloved I think. Don't forget, there were questions regarding Burton's qualifying engine and they tore that thing apart with a fine toothed comb. It eventually passed but it drew much more attention I think because of last years 29 fiascos and the fact that they are both Childress cars. Remember they got the 48 AND the 5 last year at Dover and they are both Hendrick cars.....all I'm saying is it isn't one team within the organization it's the whole bunch.

Re: Winter Olympics. Does anyone care? I love the winter Olympics. I watch more of them than the summer. I don't care much for figure skating and curling but other than that I really get into them. I love the downhill and super-g skiing plus all the sleds. I guess I'm a speed freak!

Re: Knaus: Cheater or Innovator? [ QUOTE ] If this is the case just how many would Earnhardt and Petty have won with that kind of thinking... Jeff earned his Championships, as did Earnhardt Sr. and Petty...enough said there... [/ QUOTE ] Hmmmm.....Lets see...... Gordon active since 1992 with 4 Championships and 73 wins Earnhardt had 676 career starts since 1975 with 7 championships and 76 wins. Petty active since before fire with 7 championships and 200 wins. 200 wins from an era of 80 races a year at every short track in the south and some dirt. I think the numbers speak for themselves. I'm not knocking Gordon, he is a great driver. It's just with his level of success that suddenly something is deffinately fishy. Also, where did wonder boy go when NASCAR started cracking on the inspections?....to the back! His level of success has drastically dropped since the inspection crew has stepped it up a notch.

Re: Knaus sent home (Suspended) Slap on wrist.....Park the car for the 500 PERIOD. They DQed out of qualifying.....PARK IT
-
Re: kyle busch Shrub is a bigger idiot than his rubberhead brother. All I can say is that he is lucky that was an 8 and not a black 3 on his bumper Sunday. Dale would have fed that fool the fence and then cussed him good when he talked to him after the race. I think about one more time and Jr was fixing to do the same.
-
Re: Knaus: Cheater or Innovator? CHEATER 100%. I think NASCAR should park the 48 for the 500 PERIOD. Not just suspend Knaus let "ol Rickey loose some owner points ans Lowes loose some TV time that they are paying big bucks for the spot on that hood for. I just wish that NASCAR was this tough back in the late 90's. I'd be willing to bet that the 24 wouldn't have as many wins and as many championships as he does now. Remember, they are owned by the same guy.
