  1. Re: Chicagoland As good as he has ran there in the past I think that Johnson is due a win there. Kahne has always struggled with Chicago. My money is on the 48 today.
  2. Re: Chase Changes Dump the chase and go back to the old system. Who cares if the cup is locked with three races to go....oh wait NASCAR does...it takes MONEY out of their pockets. Also, does anybody else think it strange that the year AFTER Gordan and Jr. missed the cahse they are going to change it...HMMM interesting. Is NASCAR trying to get their golden kids in for sure?
  3. Re: End of the Pepsi 400. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] If you don't think NASCAR has complete control of who, what, where and when by now then you're just plain slow. The only thing they don't control is when and where Michael Waltrip is going to slap the wall....other than that, they push the buttons and we watch it. [/ QUOTE ] I guess I am slow because I still do not think Nascar controls what happens on the track. I think it is just BS when people say that (I am not just pointing fingers at you, but as a whole to all that say it). Would nascar really make accidents happen that hurt and even kill people. Nascar does not control the cars and where they end up, they can't, it just does not seem possible. The only thing they can control that they play favorites with it seems is fines and point deductions. IMO [/ QUOTE ] True NASCAR can not control what happens on the track in regard to who leads when, who crashes and when. What they CAN manipulate is who gets back on the lead lap, who get saved from going a lap down, who gets a yellow pit stop instead of green. All that is done through the yellow flag. The yellow flag is now equal to the NFL's or NBA's "tv timeout". Throw a caution so FOX or NBC can show 25 minutes of commercials without everybody screaming that they are missing green flag action. I'm sorry but cautions for wrecks etc are needed but these debris cautions and yellows that just fly for no apparent reason are getting out of hand.

    Noah's Ark

Re: Noah\'s Ark I saw that segment on Good Morning America. It would certainly be a great find if it was the ark. If I remember right they even said that the measurements are consistent with what God's instructions to Noah were. I certainly don't need proof that the Bible is true but would this not be just awesome.
  5. Re: Iowa here I come! IDH, I'll be staying in Chariton, and hunting in the surrounding area.
  6. Well it took two points but I got drawn for an archery tag in Zone 5. I've already got my reservations made and got the maps of the country I'll be hunting. All I can say is come on November!
  7. Re: What do you pull? Pulling 90 lbs with 65% let off at full draw.
  8. Re: End of the Pepsi 400. NASCAR is getting totally out of hand with these cautions. Just like last week at Sonoma when several cars spun at different times with no cautions. As the laps wound down though and the 01 went around and didn't even stop they threw the yellow. But DEBRIS on the final lap...PLEASE. Here is another thought. If the field is frozen when the yellow comes out, even on the final lap, why does the checker have to wave when they cross the line? The have already put the green-white-checker in place. Just throw the yellow and go into OT. Anyway, I'll hush. I just think that NASCAR is getting a little to caution happy!
  9. Re: Baseball coach tantrum (video) As bad as I hate to to say it...that is the manager for the local team here The Asheville Tourists. His meltdown was hilarious but it certainly doesn't reflect the values of this community
  10. Several single car spins and no full course yellows. Then when the 96 needs to save gas the 01 goes around and doesn't even stop...guess what full course yellow.....total junk
  11. Re: Dale Jr. Fathers Day Paint Scheme It looks pretty sweet. I hope to see it in victory lane
  12. Re: What nationality are you? American....end of story.
  13. Re: The Mirror Effect.... I'll not go into an in depth explanation but there are many one here who know what this all means and they also know where it will all end. All I can say....Look up for your redemption draweth nigh

    Do you tithe?

Re: Do you tithe? Most deffinately...10% and then some in additional offerings and donations to mission fields.
  15. Re: Deer Hunting Florida Style OK....I'll not swim in fresh water in Florida again. Tha is a huge gator.
  16. Re: CONGRATS to Kasey Kahne The boy drove a great race. I'm hoping that NASCAR will go back and look at these fuel cells before October. With this rock they call a tire they don't need the small cell. Did anyone catch the camera shot of the tire as it came off of Kahne's car during one of the green flag stops. It looked like it hadn't even been ran other than missing the sticker. All in all it was pretty decent racing at least the track had two good grooves. Just give them back 22 gallons and maybe soften that tire a bit or run the Atlanta tire.
  17. Re: Talladega Spring Race \'06 Yeah I was there. Sat in the wind and rain Sunday but was able to stay for Monday's show. It was really a great race. I'm glad I got to stay.
  18. Re: Bonds and 715. Big deal....Bonds hits 715. I'm about as impressed at that as I am at a frog jumping. How many would Ruth or Aaron hit if they had been juicing. Honestly I'm so sick of all the Bonds HR hype. I just wish he would retire or that ESPN would shut up about it.
  19. Re: First timer in Iowa whats my chances?? CuttnRun, Dude, do you work for Station 21 Buncombe county? Check my avatar image. I'm willing to bet we work together (in a way). I'm AFD Eng 7 A shift's Lt. for the time being.
  20. Michael Waltrip couldn't qualify for the coke 600 so he bought his way in. It is out on NASCAR.com that he puchased Derrick Cope's car and qualified position for the race on Sunday. He will repaint and renumber the car to his NAPA scheme and #55. I think it stinks that as hard as Cope's team works on a shoestring budget that a big name liek Waltrip can buy him out of the race. Mikey, you were too slow, now go home.
  21. Re: Fresh Scrapes I wouldn't say it is odd. However, I don't think I would invest a lot of time in a trail camera watching them now. Like someone else said, deer will scrape year round but they don't constantly check and freshen them like the do in the fall. They may hit them a couple of times then just quit for a while, but like I said I wouldn't call it odd.
  22. Re: No more Flats....! (pics) Interesting concept but that is one ugly tire plus I can't see a good off road tire being made like that.
  23. Re: Bad hair day!!! (pic) That gives new meaning to eyes in the back of your head...lol
  24. Re: 3 PETA members get 12 years each! Should have gotten more for a stunt like that but at least they got something.
  25. Re: This is pretty neat Sweet paint scheme. I hope he can make the big race. Either get voted in or win the open.
