Bowhntr replied to Hillbilly's topic in NASCAR and Sports
Re: Will Rex ever win a Superbowl as a Starting QB??? Not playing like he did Sunday. He has potential but he needs to mature some. -
Re: NASCAR Ultimate Fantasy League Come on guys, we still need one more team to get this show going.

Re: dang fire alarms Be glad you don't have to get out of bed, get dressed, and get out the door in less than a minute to respond to these alarm activations. Three or four of them a night can get old. I deal with it almost every shift. I'm the lieutenant on the first due engine to our local university.

Re: Swampy\'s sick as a dog thread... Respiratory stuff here. My 17 month old has been sick with cold and cough since just about the first of November with just a few breaks in between. I've fought it off for the most part. Right now I have a very aggravating cough that just will not go away. Not had to deal with the stomach bug yet, hopefully we can dodge that bullet.

Just to let those of you that were interested know. The other fanatsy game on NASCAR.com is up and ready to go. Just go to this link http://fantasy.nascar.com/games/league/ and click on play now. Then click join friends private league. The league password is COMPT51890. There is only room for 2 more teams so get there quick. As soon as the final team joins the auction will start for the driver. Let me know if anyone needs any help.

Just found out yesterday that there is an article that has been written by a former member of Saddam's cabinet. He basically gives a very detailed account of how Saddam smuggled the weapons into Syria under the cover of aid to a flood tht occured in Syria. There had been a few other pieces about this but they were dismissed as political propaganda. This looks to be the real deal and maybe it will shush some of the nay-sayers about this war.

Re: This halftime show was horrible. I'm not really a Prince fan but all things considered the show wasn't that bad. Considering the weather and everything I'm surprised someone wasn't electrocuted. I just wonder how many folks on the field were of the generation that would even know those songs.

Re: SUPERBOWL Commercials Rock paper scissors, and the suicidal robot were great. They rest were just average.

Re: Rubix Cube? Man these things have resurfaced. Yes they can be solved. I have solved one before. The trick is to get two opposite sides and then index the center pieces, problem is I cant remember how.

Re: What does your biggest buck score??? 146 2/8 gross....141 6/8 net. Sorry for the back of the truck pic but that is what you get when you hunt alone.

Re: Womanhood at 16 months!! Mine's almost 17 months and she always goes for the cash, checkbook, or the credit cards. I think it is genetic and has something to do with those X and Y chromosones.

Re: Which gun?? Might take a look at the 257 Roberts. It is a tad heavier for the deer and can be loaded down for the varmints. It is a pretty decent little caliber.

Re: SCOPE! I think I'm just gonna sit under this big oak with a cup of coffee and watch this for a while. I only qualify for SCOPE as of now but I'm seriously eyeballing a lovely little piece that would earn me membership in OTPG. I belive that, for now, I shall remain NEUTRAL

Re: Spider Solitaire Oh yeah, I'm hooked on it. I've won at all three levels and play four suit most of the time. Playing the four suit I guess I win maybe 1 out of every 100 games. It will drive ya nuts.

Re: Any stone fireplaces? I was a stone mason for several years before I came to work here at the fire dpeartment. Are you wanting cultured or natural stone? Are you wanting a "stick on" veneer or a stacked look? Dry stack or pack joint? There are a lot of decisions to make. The biggest thing though is if you are going to use a stacked type of veneer is to be sure you have an adequate footing. A standard fireplace in a room with an 8 foot ceiling takes about 1 1/2 tons to do depending on stone type and pattern. Here are a couple of photos of a veneer and hearth that I done in my old house. Sorry the flash washed out some of the color on a couple.

Re: If Hillary actually runs and wins, I'm not packing yet....I don't think she can win. I seriously doubt if she wins the nomination. If she does though I don't think she can win the White House.

Re: Iowa Non Resident You will not need the fur harvest license to hunt deer. However, double check and make sure that the license that you want is not a draw license. Most of Iowa's non-resident stuff is a draw and some is pretty tough to get. Also, you will buy a tag for the unit/zone that you select and that is the zone you must hunt. Sounds like you need to try for zone 9, but be sure about that draw.

Re: Dream Job [ QUOTE ] Oh man, 2 things immediately pop into my head. A rafting guide for Nantahala Outdoor Center OR a photographer for National Geographic. [/ QUOTE ] Stick with the photography. Nantahala is WAY COLD even in July Me, my dream job would be to be a big game guide in Colorado. However, I'm as close as I can get in the real world. The job I have now was my dream job, the guide thing is just a fanatsy. I wanted to be a professional firefighter since I became a Jr. Volunteer in 1986. Now I'm a paid Lieutenant with the largest department in my area. Been here since 1994.

NASCAR Increases Points for Winning by +5
Bowhntr replied to Valkrie1357's topic in NASCAR and Sports
Re: NASCAR Increases Points for Winning by +5 In my opinion the jury is still out on this one. I've never really been a fan of the chase format. WIth these new rules I think it will only serve to give us a 10 race champ not a season champ. I agree that there needed to be some more credit given for winning but I'm not sure I like the sound of the rest of it. The Cup should be awarded on an ENTIRE seasons worth of consistency not just 10 races. -
Re: all right w/ the Super bowl decided....... 24...48 all the same difference. LOL I'll be pulling for the 8 again, just like always.

Re: National Anthem being sung in Spanish I would say you are missing something. I'm not bashing you but just stop and look at this for a moment. First, this is America and our language is English. Our anthem is in English, sing it that way. If and I mean IF one truly wanted to become part of our country they would learn our language, how to speak it, and how to sing our anthem. In short they would assimilate themselves to OUR culture not try to to ramrod the culture they left down our throats. I'll hush by asking this question...Do you think we could move to China, Turkey, Afganistan, or any other country and survive if we didn't learn that language? When in Rome do as the Romans do........
