He's just got an old 25 HP Bison. Wish he would have gotten the 4'er instead of the 5. I have to just do about 2- 3" at a time in the lowest gear possible, so it is always 2 or 3 passes. It takes me pretty much an entire day just to till my small plots up lol. Not to mention that big thing hanging off of the back makes it pretty interesting maneuvering the hills I have to traverse to get to the plots. Had a few close calls over the years.

Plots look good William. Soybeans should still do fine. They were no tilling soybeans across from my place just last week. I have broadcast beans in the past in a similar fashion with decent results. My father in law picked up a PTO tiller from Rural King a few years ago. It's been a good piece of equipment. He got a 5', and it's a little too big for his tractor, but does the job. I think our store usually has at least one or two in stock. This is the first time in years I am not doing any food plots....just don't have the time to get them done right.

I'm a little late getting this weeks check-in thread going. Hard to believe another month has come & gone. It's a long holiday weekend for a lot of folks. I have to work Monday, so just another weekend for me. We are in town and no sports activities for us. I plan on getting caught up on the yard work and mowing tomorrow. Planning on going to church with Grandpa on Sunday and take him out for lunch afterwards. My daughter is staying at a friends tonight for a birthday party, and have a graduation party to go to Sunday. I was hoping to get up to the farm and get some trails & shooting lanes cut this weekend, but not looking like that's going to happen. Whatchu got going on this weekend?
-
Sharp looking truck Frank. What's the gas mileage like? I need to upgrade my old Ford at some point. I love the old truck, but it's not cheap for me to drive anywhere lol. Food plot looks great! I have a feeling your going to have a great season in Kentucky. As usual I have done nothing to prepare for this season yet lol. I'm hoping this weekend I can get to the farm and get some trails and shooting lanes trimmed. I noticed this week that the new seasons have started of hunting shows, so that is usually my trigger that I need to start getting my crap together.
-
So this was the dad correct? The article didn't make it sound like much of an accident to me. Obviously after reading the article it's not this family's first time of having run ins with the DNR. That's one hunting show that I could just never get into. Like William said, it seems like a pretty minor penalty for this circumstance. A year and a half probation and 2 years of suspended hunting. I'm sure the monetary fine is nothing to him.

Funds are a little short this year, and it sounds like by daughters softball schedule is going to be pretty busy this fall so I have a feeling my bowhunting will be a little more limited this year. I think I am good on all of my equipment. I need to pick up half a dozen more arrows for sure. My Muck boots are getting up there in age, so a new pair of boots would be nice if i get around to it. Dang Al...that's my kind of stand lol. The older I get makes it hard to sit in the cheaper stands anymore. That sucker looks comfy. I think my next stand will be a Millennium. I sat in one at the bow shop and the seats are by far the most comfortable for a hang on.

Well it looks like we made it another week lol. Been a busy one for us. Daughter played a double header with a different team that was short players Monday night, had an all day softball camp Tuesday, hitting lessons Wednesday night, team practice last night, and a tournament starts tonight. Looks like our weekend consists of a little more softball lol. At least this tournament is in town so I can sleep in my own bed every night. She has one game tonight, two tomorrow, and tomorrow night one of her teammates is having a bbq and bonfire so that should be a good time. Sunday is elimination games, and before you know it Monday will be here. There's my weekend...what does everyone else have going on?
-
I would probably saw the legs off good and short and make some nice cut off shorts. LOL not really.

Hope all of the dads have a good Father's Day weekend. This weekend looks pretty laid back for us. No sporting events or practices for my kids at all, which is highly unusual. The yard needs mowed, the garage need straightened up, and I have a swing set build that I need to finish up, and an old swing set to tear down & burn. I imagine at some point the grill will be fired up & an ice cold Stag will be cracked open. What's everyone else have planned for the weekend?

How the Blues have managed not to win a Cup in their 50 years is beyond my comprehension lol. I've been a Blues fan since I was born. Absolutely love the game of hockey. Played a little bit off and on over the years. The first date I took my now wife on was to a Blues game. When my dad was alive him & I never really got along. He was a hard a%# and I was a knucklehead teenager. If we were watching hockey or hunting though we were like best buds. I'm 41 now, but still have fond memories of going to the old Checker Dome when I was 7 or 8 years old. I'm not embarrassed to say I'll probably cry like a little school girl if they ever win it lol. I'm proud to say that so far my kids have inherited my passion as well. Pens hockey fans are blessed. The Cardinals have won a few championships, so that helps me keep my sanity.
-
There you go Strut...Pens win the Cup again. It was a long weekend and I fell asleep at second intermission dangit. No matter who wins I always like to see the Cup get passed around. Hoping one day I'll get to see the Blues handing it off to each other.

Well, another Friday is upon us. What is everyone doing this weekend? I'll give you three guesses what I'm doing, and the first two don't count lol. Leaving about 1 o'clock today and heading to Cape Girardeau MO for another weekend softball tournament for my daughter. All 5 of us are going this weekend, so won't be much down time. It looks like the weather is going to start heating up and start getting into the 90's. I changed the water pump on the Suburban last night, so hopefully I have everything buttoned up, sealed, tightened, and ready for a little road trip.
-
Yea the Preds were never even in the game. Really none of these games have been close. I thought there would be some tight games, but that hasn't been the case. I think the Preds take the next game, and the Pens take game 7.
-
And just like that it's all even. Down to a best of 3 series. Rinne seems to have found his game and the Preds are finding the back of the net. Pens have been here before, so I still think they pull it out in 7.
-
Looks like the Preds made a series out of it. I think game 4 could be a big one. The Preds have been great at home all through the playoffs. If the Pens can steal the next game in Nashville I think they finish them off in game 5 at home. If the Preds win it's a whole new series.

So it looks like today is national doughnut day....who knew there was such a thing lol. Now I'm craving a doughnut. Friday check-in for everybody....what are the weekend plans? You can probably guess what my plans are....daughter has a softball tournament in Jacksonville tonight thru Sunday. Another weekend in a hotel. She needs to bust out of this little slump that she is in. The wife has to work tomorrow, so her and the two boys aren't going this weekend.

Ya won't see another one................

Man, that wood is gorgeous. Pretty sweet that you know the history behind it. -
How in the world the Pen's won last night....I have no idea lol. They should feel pretty good that they stole that game with such a crummy effort. The Preds are no joke this year. I would say that they lack a real super star, but everyone seems to be contributing, their D is solid, and they are a faster team than I expected. They pretty much handled the best teams in the West without much of a problem. I can see this series going back & forth until game 7.

Well, the school year officially ended for my kids this week. I know to them a school year seems like forever, but man to me the years are flying by. Long weekend coming up for most people..what are the big plans? We have a weekend off from sports, so plan do a bit of nothing at some point lol. Pool party at my sisters tomorrow afternoon if the rain & storms hold off. Hoping to get the yard mowed in the morning. The swing set in the back yard is getting pretty sketchy, so might build a new one Sunday & Monday to get that knocked off of my honey do list.

We were there about 3 weeks ago with highs only reaching lower 50's and cloudy, drizzly days. I even told my wife it felt like late October. Highly unusual for this part of the country to have temps that low in May. After a week of that, temps really shot up to above normal for a while, but now we are about where we are supposed to be.
-
So today is the 139th day of the year...no relevance other than hunting season is creeping a little closer lol. So what are everybody's plan for the weekend? Pretty normal weekend for us. Hitting tonight for my daughter, and a softball tournament in Red Bud on Saturday & Sunday if the rain stays away. It's not looking like great weather at the moment. Tomorrow my son has his last spring soccer game for the season. Who's next?
-
Hope all of the mom's out there have a nice Mother's Day weekend! Tonight my daughter has hitting, then we are all taking my wife out to dinner for Mother's day so we can miss the Sunday crowds. Saturday we have to work on a 7th grade school project for her. Some how we need to build an ostrich of all things lol. Sunday my oldest boy (10) has a soccer game about an hour and 15 minutes away, then it's home to chill & grill. What are your weekend plans?

little weekend planting for the future

Man, looks like they are coming along nicely! Looks like pretty solid growth in two years time. When do they start producing fruit? -
I put a little on a separated serving a few years ago to try and get the string to last a little longer. In the end i don't think it really helped much.

Thanks for the heads up! I don't believe I have any GM gift cards. We have a store that opened not too far from me about 2 years ago. Like William mentioned, not much in there that interests somebody looking for a good deal. They do have a great gun selection and occasionally a decent sale on them. I had heard that store was staying open, but it's not on the list as of yet. Another store a little over an hour from me in Missouri is on the "stay open" list. Kind of confusing on what's going on. I got an e-mail last week saying all stores are liquidating.
