A few other forums that I visit regularly do a Friday check-in thread, where everyone says their weekend plans. Trying to get a little more action up in here lol. We will be in Springfield Saturday & Sunday for a two day softball tournament my daughter is in. If we are home at a decent enough time Saturday night, I'm going to try and make it to Grandpa's house for his annual wild game feed/poker game with a bunch of hunting buddies. Who's next?

Man, we have been getting hit hard with rain. We had over 5" last weekend, and probably another 3-4" yesterday. It's not supposed to stop until early tomorrow morning. Low areas are dealing with some hard core flooding. Even highways have been closed not too far from here. Today we have 30+ mph winds and a high of 48 degrees. Feels more like late October than early May. Furnace has been running the last few days.

After his long concussion recovery last year I am not overly surprised. As a fan of his dad it was natural for myself & other people to migrate to Junior and root for him. I do think NASCAR is going to feel this next year. At a time when NASCAR is already fading in popularity, losing the most popular driver is going to leave an even bigger void.

We are full bore into spring here. I'm already sick of mowing the grass lol. It just started raining here, and sounds like we are in for 5+" of rain between now & Sunday.

Settled in at 5:45, done by 6:05 and back home with a bird before the rest of the house even wakes up lol. Congrats! He's a good sized bird.

That time of year. I've been hearing of a few guys finding them here & there. I might try to get out looking Saturday if i can get away. Last year I found a pretty good number of mushrooms on the 17 th.

LOL I noticed that too. The resurgence was short lived.

LOL the countdown has started. Normally for me I am getting things in order for food plots and stands this time of year. I think my prep work is going to suffer quite a bit this year, and so far only been to the farm one time. My daughters softball team is in 12 tournaments over the next 4 months, so it looks like most of my prep work is going to be in August & September this year.

He was from the St. Louis area, and until recently would show up and play a little at a few spots downtown. Definitely some classic songs. "My dinga-ling" was sort of our groups unofficial anthem in high school for some reason lol. They did a nice little story on the local news a few days ago. I didn't realize the how much scandal and law troubles he had over the years.....some pretty weird stuff.

I never cared for either of the Busch sisters. This seems pretty typical attitude of both of them. Surprised somebody hasn't dotted Kyle's eye on a weekly basis.

After a February that seen several days in the 60's and near drought conditions, here we are in mid March with snow on the ground.

I have a Buck Knife 691zipper. Outside of an old Case that I have it's probably my favorite knife. I rip the ribs right up the middle, flip it over and use the hook for the belly. I don't think I've nicked the guts as long as I've been using it. Makes a messy job fairly clean.

Franks Shawnee buck gets my vote also. Tent camping with family & friends, and taking a great buck like that on public land is about as good as it gets. The pictures and story were awesome.

Another vote for Rhino. Both of his bucks were monsters, but I actually liked his big 11 lol.

I have to say I thought the speech was about as good as it could have been. He hit on some solid marks. I just flipped to it to catch a few minutes and ended up watching the whole thing lol. The lack of respect and hypocrisy of the far left seems to know no bounds. Could you imagine if that kind of disrespect had happened during one of Obama's speeches.

I have an older New England .410 single shot. I think I was 11 or 12 and got it for Christmas one year. I actually haven't shot it in years. I need to get it out for the kids to shoot this summer. I killed many a rabbit & a truck load of squirrels with it when I was just a little shaver. I remember even knocking down a few quail.

I'm going with Hoosierhunter. It looks like he gave the deer a bath & put his church clothes on for this one lol. You can tell he put some effort into it.
