Re: Ice thickness ya i dont usually go out til there;s at least 4 inches, i put the shack out when there is 6-8in, thats when i start takin the skidoo out too. but fisherguy has the most important point!! i totally agree with him. always check the ice every 10 feet because ice usually doesn't freeze evenly in all places, there could be a foot in one place and an inch in the next step because of beaver trenches or current. its better to be safe than sorry... good luck fishin eh!?!?

Re: I need a good shotgun i have an 870 wingmaster with a 26" barrel, I LOVE IT!! and my dad has a rem 1100 semi in a 20ga, that is a really nice shooting gun, i have shot my friends 1100 28ga as well, man, talk about NO recoil!!! i couldnt believe it, and the 11-87s are a nice shootin gun too, i'd stick with the remmies.

Re: All this work HAHAHA!!! i am in college too turkeygirl, i havent had that much homework lately, well i have to have an assignment in on the 6th , and my birthday is on the 4th (sat). grrrrr LOL. happy birthday to me!! blessed with the best gift of em all.... a stinkin assignment lol. ahh well, i'm lovin college and cant wait to go home for christmas on the 17th. We just got 6 inches of snow at home as of this morning , and it says it doesnt look like its gonna stop any time soon!! And help w/ a college kid hey! ya i am still in college too, i am going through to be an automotive technician. i think if you really want to follow your career dreams, you can and will do it, that is what i did, the DAY i could get my apprenticeship, i did, my 16th birthday, which means that i will be an apprentice for 2 years this saturday! (dec 4) . somebody has got to do it, and you could be one of those well known writers bud! do what ya love to do... thats all i can say! GOOD LUCK!!

Re: Browning BLR Lever Action Dad has owned a BLR in a .308 for years, and same with his best friend, and a couple more in our gang, MAN CAN THEY SHOOT LOL. the 308s have a nice 20" barrel on them, i shoot dads all the time, it is a really comfortable gun to shoot, and i cant tell you how many times that thing would out perform a bolt when a deer is running wide open across the field. Dad has shot many fast running deer with the BLR. IT would be an AWESOME choice, i am thinking of getting one in a .30-06 or 300WSM.

Re: need a gun ya definetly a .30-06 or .308, a 308 has practically the same amount of power as the 30-06. both great shootin calibers, i use a .300 Win Mag myself
