Re: Tie the Knot
The finally got the nail knot done but I hope I don't have to do it again for quite some time. I am using tapered leaders. The kit I bought was from Wal-Mart and it was the first time I have ever tried fly fishing so I did not want to go out and spend $300 right off the bat. I did catch 3 rainbows and 2 speckled trout Sunday but none of them on the fly rod. Caught them on a lightweight rod with Chartruese/Red tube jigs with a 1/32 hook. Local limit is 6 per day so I will be going back next weekend. They really need a bass pro closer to home. Guess I will have to get on their website and find some of those metal eyelets. Thanks Guys
Re: Trout fishing
Well I went yesterday and caught 5. 3 Rainbows and 2 Speckled. Caught all of them on a tube jig with 1/32 hook and a lightweight undercast with green mono line. Tried fly fishing and did not catch anything the local store there told me the fly fisherman had not been doing so well lately. Our local limit is 6 per day. I caught all five within 2 hour so I can't complain.
Re: This is WRONG!
Tell me about it! It is about 78 here and I am wearing pants. Too bad i packed the shorts away guess i will have to dig some out tonight.
Re: Tie the Knot
Dah Gum this fly fishing stuff is complicated. I just bought a cheap set for like $20 at wal mart to see if I liked it now they are talking about tying 5 different knots with 5 pieces of line and then tying the fly. Geeeeeeezzzz
Re: 200,000
Pennzoil or Castrol 10w30 with Fram filter. I usually put the Toughguard filter on instead of the cheap filter and I change it before 3,000 miles on each change.
No not getting married. I am goint trout fishing tomorrow and i have never fly fished before so I bought a cheap rod and real. My problem is tying the leader to the fly line. Hope someone can help me because the directions on this thing show tying a nail knot and it is confusing.
I am gonna head up to Blue River tomorrow and try my luck. For those of you that don't know where Blue River is it is just northeast of Tishomingo, OK by a few miles. Now if I can just figure out how to tie this dang leader to the fly line. As you can tell I just bought my first flyrod today so drop me some tips.
Re: Okie Fishing Trip???? (Pin Post please)

Re: 200,000
Got a little over 270,000 miles on my 93 Chevy Silverado ext cab. The only major component that I replaced is the Transmission. All of the motor is stil stock except for minor parts example: Water pump, Alternator, Power steering pump.
Re: Got a pig
My step dad killed a 238lb bore about a month ago got him back from the processors about 2 week ago and he says that it tastes great. I have always been told the bigger ones aren't worth processing.
Re: I\'VE GOT SOME BIG NEWS ......
Thought you were gonna say Getting Married or Having a Baby or even maybe you got a new gun or bow. Anyway nice SUV!!!!!!!
Re: Whats your choice of rifles ??
I know a guy that kills hogs with a .22 stinger. Only gun he will use to kill hogs. He is an older man and does not believe in wasting any meat. If there is meat on the bone he is gonna pick it off.
Re: Self Defense Pistol
If you are planning on carrying concealed I would personally go with a .380. Mainly something that is small and easily concealed.
Re: 1 dead deer
Nothing like the smell of sweet success. Good job!!!! Are you ready to go again yet. Hunting is by far the most addictive way of life I have ever cam across.
Re: Why I hate hogs......
Sounds like we need to have an Okie get together. I am only about 1 1/2 hrs away. Call up all the okies and we will have them cleaned out in no time.
I have been focusing lately on 1 specific bore from the looks of the trees he tore up and and the 25 ft circle around my feeder I would say he is a wallmounter. I brought down some guys that hog hunt alot they say he will be about 600-700lbs and probably around 6 inch tusks.
Re: accident in archery class!!!
I would have been stomping a mudhole in his rear. Then I would have walked a mudhole in the teacher for being such an idiot.
