  2. Please take my advice on this one....Do NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT get one of their suppressors on it. Get the regular barrel option if you can. I have owned two and both had the suppressor....they sent my dealer the wrong rifle both times (with suppressor) and it blows back all the gases from the barrel into your face. And i replaced the gas tube (block).

    monster buck?

A "Monster Buck" Is just a term used to explain how big you think your deer is. Compared to all the private deer ranches...Not world class, but to blue collar guys who work for a living and don't have the money for a canned hunt for a 200" deer....Well my friend it is a "Monster" in that respect. That is a gnarley looking old feller, congrats on your kill.
  5. 300 Ultra Mag!!!!!! 150 gr. swift sirrico
  6. Good Luck is all i will say...crossing international borders has gotten trickey.
  7. If your deer hunting....7mm rem mag in a model 700...you can do just about anything with it, from alaska to alabama. I perfer my 300 Remington Ultra Mag. but it kills on both ends.
  8. I use the accu tip that Remington...premium grade ammo at a reasonable price...and it works too... .5 inch groups at 100 yds. regularly out of my model 700 LV SF.
  9. I love the .17hmr...but shooting anything other than coyote sized game and smaller with it is unethical to me...I feel sorry for anything larger than that shot with it.
  10. Combination of both.....I once in a two year period killed a 143 in 11pt with a bow, a 95% white point, Bobcat, and a few 24+ pound gobblers.....Then went 4 years without killing anything of any size....Congrats anyways on a great start.
  11. I just read the paper this morning, We have but 2 openings left on our football team's coaching staff. We got some great assistant and associate coaches...and quite possibly the best recruiting coach in the country in "Doc" Holliday from Florida. We got coaches who want to be here, who have ties to WV, and most importantly have class, charcter, and loyality. Coach Stewart had to work his way up to become Head coach...And he EARNED it with hard work. We folks in WV know what hard work is, our new staff is a group of hard workers and they are going to produce a group of hard working athletes to lead WVU to more years of Greatness. Coach Rod should not have been ousted like he so harshly was...Also he should not have put his team on the back burner when he was having talks with Michigan weeks before the end of the season. But i wish him good luck!! and Beline!!

    Dry firing

I've seen it go both ways...they fly apart...or nothing happens at all, i accidentally dry fired my bowtech pro 38 once...nothing happened... i kept the same bow for two more years and never had a problem....But my buddy dry fired his mathews...much different result...it basically flew apart, but didnt break anything except a bushing or something...Just keep a good eye on it and take it in for a overhaul.
  18. I got my dad the kodi pack last year...cost him 11 stiches...they are sharp sharp sharp, he dressed out an elk, a few turkeys and a few deer before the knife ever needed re sharpened, and he said that he would stick it in the ground to dull it up it sharpens up so easliy...and it holds a great edge. They make great products.

  24. I was reading the post about "mercy kill" and it got me thinking about a deer we have on the farm. On my property we have a deer, her name is "limpy deer". She has an injury to her front left leg. It cannot straighten out all the way and therefore she limps. She is a medium sized doe, and very very pretty, more so than other deer. She appeared with this injury 8 years ago....she was 1.5 at the time (we think) . Well now she is at least 9.5 years old, it is the same deer, she has a distinct personality, and limping habit. My dad archery hunts almost every day on the farm and he has NEVER seen that deer from a tree stand, only have we ever seen her from the house where we don't hunt and where we feed deer. I think when deer get an injury and survive they become a different animal altogether. She is amazing, and to our knowledge has had three fawns. She usually keeps the fawn till they are 2 years old (which is very odd) then discards them to breed again. Heres the good part, we have her (9.5) two of her offspring one is estimated to be 4.5 years old (nice buck whom we cannot kill he is totally noctournal...even in velvet) and a one younger doe. They all travel together and are all smart. I just think its amazing what an injured animal can endure and how they can keep going .
