What is your favorite thing to hunt this time of the year? I would honestly have to say chasing fat greenhead mallards with curly-Q's and Canada geese..... Pheasant has been great this season between Minnesota and South Dakota..... I love archery hunting for deer but have not put the time in effort this season to be satisfied...

Re: Pheasant Call?? I have one but have never used it... as long as you know what kind of cover they like and have dogs that seems to be the best method... these are birds that you are made to work for... that's why it is so darn rewarding when you limit out....

I went up to Northern Minnesota and got a nice dose of the beginning migrant ducks and geese... We field hunted both days and were successful each day.. I had a great time. The mornings were roughly about 25 degrees and Sunday it was pretty foggy but then cleared up... This zone you can only shoot one Canada goose per person due to refuge area and migrant zones. We thought we were going to have a shut out the second morning but we still managed to get some tornadoing birds.. no jewlery though-maybe next time! I got some great video footage and lots of pics!! A loyal dog is priceless and irriplaceable... every hunting dog I have had has always held it's own place in my heart... that's for sure!
