  1. Great to hear. You'll have a blast! I tagged along with my brother a couple years back on an antelope hunt. Awsome is all I can say. It was a trip I won't forget!! Good luck and have a great time. Don't forget to take lots of pictures to share with all us who won't be going!
  2. Fall won't get here soon enough!!!
  3. Just picked up a Trophy Ridge pendalum sight from Cabela's. Has anyone tried one of these and what do you think of it?
  4. Hey everyone! It's been awhile since I was last on the board here. I've been busy with "life" the past couple of months. Things are all good though. Hope everyone is having a great summer. Hunting season isn't too far off!!!! I'm looking forward to jumping back in.
  5. Camo. Although a friend to the hunter it is also an enemy! I saw one for sale at some store awhile back. If I remember where I'll let you know and can maybe pick it up for you. Old age. It may make you wiser but messes with ones memory retention!:D
  6. I took a walk around the property on Saturday to see if I could find any sheds. Either the squirrels already got to them, I missed them, or there were none. I was hoping to find some decent ones as the nieghbor had said a couple big boys had made it through hunting season last year. No luck on my part though. All I did find was part of a deer that wasn't left behind for too long of a time. No bones. Just a chunk of meat and hair. It looks as if the wolves are still in the area!
  7. Spent my Saturday planting 1000 trees...in the rain! Went up to the hunting property and along with my brother, his father-in-law, and my dad and put in 1000 red pines. Surprisingly, we were done in about 4 hours. The trees were put in where others from the past 3 years hadn't made it. I can tell you this, planting by hand is alot harder than using the planter on the tractor. Of course, mother nature was sort of against us as she rained on us the whole time. Good for the new trees. Not good for the fools out working in it. On a side note...about an hour after we finished, the clouds dispersed and the sun came out. Wound up with a decent afternoon for racing around on the ATV's!!:D
  8. And I thought I had alot of free time!
  9. I got to met Gary (need2hunt) at the Expo on Sunday. He was doing a great job manning the Archers Choice booth! We chatted for a short while before he had to get back to work. Thanks Gary for the shirt! My daughters were quite impressed that I knew someone working there. Good luck with the turkey hunt coming up. I hope you still have your job after all is said and done.
  10. Hope the Easter Bunny was good to you! Have a great Easter, everybody.
  11. I met him last year at the Deer and Turkey Expo in Madison. He seemed pretty decent. I asked him and Larry to stand together to take their pic and he told me to get in the pic too!
  12. Best to see a doctor. High BP is nothing to mess with! Everything you've been doing will not hurt but meds may still be needed.
  13. Many a times have I woken myself up because I'm snoring in my treestand. Do you think that might have an effect on what I see (or don't see)???:D
  14. I took a richochet to my right thumb back in 1986 while I was spending time in Central/South America. The bullet hit the slide on the 9mm I was carrying in my right hand and went into my thumb. Have a scar to remind me!
  15. I just read the 1st place and Grand prize winning stories. I don't know what the judges were looking at. For what it's worth, Randy, I would have picked your story as the big winner! It took a lot of guts and soul searching to put down in print what you did. I'm proud to be able to say, "I know the man that wrote that."
  16. Congrats bud!! I imagine the geese and ducks on the Marsh won't be happy to find out what you won!
  17. Going on 17 years as a correctional officer for the State of Wisconsin. Along with doing the schedules and hiring I am a member of the Emergency Response Unit.
  18. Anyone else notice that it's been a little quieter here with Randy in Arkansas the past couple days? If so, you'll also be happy to know it's been quieter at work too!:D
  19. Well I'm all thawed out from the game on Sunday. Let me tell you, I've sat in a treestand in the cold but this was something else! To say it was cold is an understatement. It was downright frigid!! Even though it was so cold my camera decided not to work, I was able to get a few pics from the game. Here's my dad and brother getting ready to go to the game: Here's my brother in law. He said he didn't care if he looked like a bumble bee. He was going to be a warm bumble bee. Here's me and dad ready to cheer for the Pack! Outside the stadium. The boys inside the Atrium at Lambeau. Inside the front door. The FOX pregame show was set up just down a ways from where we sat. Maybe you heard me yelling to Howie and Terry. Some pics of the happenings before the game. And the kick is good! And then I found that my camera will not work when it's colder than cold! I tried new batteries. I tried putting it in my pocket with a hand warmer. No luck. I had a great time (even though the Pack lost). It was nice to be able to go with 3 of the greatest guys I know...my brother, dad, and brother in law!
  20. Ouch! That hurt. I'll remember that next time you call to check on something. Oh, and by the way...those days you called about in regards to your fishing/drinking trip coming up...I have to retract those days as they were not open. That is, unless you have paperwork to say you even had those days in the first place.:D
  21. I know around here, Gander Mountain has them. You might check Cabela's or Bass Pro. Otherwise, check Ameristep's website. I'm almost certain you can order straight from them as I believe I got some new fiberglass poles from them a couple years back.
  22. I think you forgot who controls the vacation book, my friend!:D
  23. Just got a phone call. I have a ticket for the game! Just looked at the forecast for next week...high of 7 in GB. Brrrrrrr.
  24. After reading the instructions on the package it seemed pretty easy to set up. My brother has a Keller, I believe, and he said he had a heck of a time setting it up to where he wanted it to be. He had to shoot from the ground then from the air and had to adjust it quite a bit. I may have to get me one for my birthday!
  25. I've met Tony and even though he's a nice guy, it was nice to see Dallas get beat!
