  1. Another 5 points. I smoked this doe this morning. She weighed 100lbs. 12 yard double lung made for a Muzzy Moment. I've finally been seeing some deer. The past two mornings I've had numerous opportunities for small bucks but nothing I liked. So this sweetheart came along followed by a small 8 ptr I put her to sleep.
  2. Thats daylight too bro. Go after him! I'll finally get to hunt tomorrow morning. We should get our first freeze tonight which should get them moving.:D
  3. Nice buck. The weather and work have been playing heck on my season so far. I should be off a few days this week and hopefully make some progress. I've been seeing a handful of does but no bucks worth while. It should pick up before long. Keep it up everyone.
  4. Nice deer everyone. I've only made it out 3 times without much luck. The weather just hasn't cooperated. Of course its been perfect the last 3 days but I've been at work. I'm off on monday so hopefully the deer are moving.
  5. I'd keep looking. 7 inches is enough to get lungs. The buck I killed last year was the same situation. I hit him right behind the shoulder slightly quartering away, when he took off running he sheared the arrow. It took me 2.5 hrs to blood trail him 100 yards. It was a double lung hit but he didn't have an exit wound and the entrance was high. So he won't have good blood until his lungs fill up and he'll start breathing it out. I was hands and knees for 80 of the 100 finding tiny specks, then I started finding piles of foamy blood, from then he didn't go another 20 yards. He was dead within 30 seconds of the shot but I took it extremely slow because I didn't want to push him. if you have to, start making circles and try to cut his trail further out. Good luck.
  6. No doubt. I've been through it, pretty funny.
  7. My season opens on Oct 1st, but I'm trying not to get too excited given I can't hunt until the 4th, because of work. Boo...
  8. Checking in. Sorry I haven't been on in a while. Whackmasters is cool with me. I'm usually good for a handful of points. I think we'll fair alright.
  9. I'm a volunteer in my town and a first responder at the chemical plant I work in.
  10. I am a chemist and I don't doubt that it works but it seems pretty high priced and gimmicky. It looks to me just like a de-ionizer and a garment bag. I'm willing to bet its a smaller version of de-ionizers that restaurants and bars have to cut back on smells, allergens, etc. Stick with your regular routine.
  11. I plan on trying to make it out at least once more. Maybe next week some time.
  12. Heres the buck I killed november 8, 2007. The story is in the bowhunting room.
  13. I shot this buck November 8th. I saw the the arrow hit him perfect but when he turned to run it looked like my entire arrow was hanging out of him. i was a wreck. I let him go for 2 hours, got down found my part of my arrow. I had about 10 inchs broke off so I knew I had one lung hopefully both, but i knew i didn't have an exit wound. I didn't find any blood until about 80 yards. It took me 2 hours to go the next 40 yards. It was like someone barely flicked blood with a little kids paint brush. Finally I started finding foamy blood that he was breathing out. Then it took me about 5 minutes to go the last 40-50 yards. Talk about relief. I saw the entry wound was well behind the shoulder, rolled him over and felt the broadhead trying to poke through right behind the opposite shoulder. It was a perfect hit he just sheared the arrow before it was all the way through killing all the momentum. He was dead 30 seconds after the shot but not to me until 4 hours later. He would be an 8 but one of his brows was broke off, he weighed 172lbs.
  14. I killed a nice 8 pt, well 7 pt due to a broken brow tine, on Nov 8th. He weighed 172lbs. I'll get pics up by the end of the week.
  15. Anyone having any luck? I've been seeing alot of deer. The rut is starting to come around. Nov 7 I go on vacation through Nov 18 I'll be in the stand everyday. Don't worry I'll have an upgrade. I hope....
  16. I'm a pb&j kind of guy. With some granola bars and a hand full of bit-o-honeys.
  17. Heres my little one. I made sure she didn't have buttons, then let the air out. 5 pts for us. She's a good tender one, and an easy drag for early season.
  18. I'm waiting on my bro to email me the pics. I lost my cam in the big "D" and I don't mean Dallas.
  19. Welcome to the family. I've been using muzzys for 3 years and have taken 4 deer with them. I've had no complaints. The doe I killed tuesday, I hit dead in the shoulder bone (not shoulder blade). Well, it absolutely shatterred it, she only ran about 80 yards and had an awesome blood trail. Tune them in and you won't be dissappointed.
  20. I killed a small doe yesterday. Hopefully I can get some pics up so we can get some more points. I won't kill a buck off of our property unless its pretty nice. Later in the season and I'm on public ground I might whack something for points.
