  1. I'm looking for a good fallaway. Preferrably a Vital bow gear, or a QAD ultrarest. If anyone has any they would like to get rid of I'd be interested. I have a keller pendulem that i would be willing to trade if anyone is interested. Thanks, aaron
  2. Re: Helical and Whisker Biscuit? Well... I'm still one the fence. Take the route of get my arrows reflected and get a WB, or go with a drop away. i don't plan on shooting competion, but i do take pride in being a tackdriver. I am in the process of tuning my equipment so i can take a 40+ yard shot. So i don't want to void that by buying the wrong rest. Thanks for the input... Sorry about the heated debate.
  3. Re: Helical and Whisker Biscuit? Coop, Is this because of the helical or just a downside of the WB?
  4. I posted a few days ago some questions about helical. At that point i was intent on shooting a dropaway rest. Now I am considering a whisker biscuit, because of there ease and quietness and they are less pricey. So does anyone think i'll have any issues shooting 6 degree helical through a WB?
  5. Re: cant believe what i just saw where can you get Supercarbons online?
  6. Re: Helical? Thanks Tedicast. that clears things up for me.
  7. Re: Check this Guy Out (pic) I'd love to have that deer hanging on my craphouse.

    New Rest

Re: New Rest tedicast, I've seen that thread before and was sold on the VBG. But there are alot of other good rests and each one has their high points. I think I'm leaning towards the VBG again. Does anyone want to try and dissaude me?
  10. Re: Helical? Thanks guys. But what do yo mean by offset?

    New Rest

Re: New Rest I'm contemplating between this rest and a few others. Does it have a way to hold the arrow on? Did you get the one with microadjust? Where can a get a good deal? I think mountain-archery.com has them for 65.00, but that one doesn't have micro adjust.

    Helical?

I've never shot an arrow with helical, but I'm planning on buying some GTs. Some i found on ebay have a 6 degree right helical, is that too much? because others i've seen have only 3 degree. Does it matter whether i go with right or left helical? I'll be shooting them over either a Shakey hunter rest, VBG dropaway, or a Ripcord. I havn't decided on the rest. Any help or opinions are appreciated. -aaron
  13. Re: 2003 bowtech blackhawk f/s I thought you meant there were 2003 of them My bad i wasn't paying attention.
  14. Re: 2003 bowtech blackhawk f/s How old is it?
  15. Re: Going to step up my bowhunting game. I never bought the suit just because i don't have the money to spend on them. But the past 3 seasons I have been so completely anal about my scent. I keep my clothes in rubber maid containers and douse them with scent killer before each hunt. I usually wash them about every 2 weeks or so in baking soda and hang dry them. I also put pine boughs and cones in my rubber made to give a little outdoorsy smell. Since i have started this regimen i have seen double the deer. I am a scientist, so i like scientific evidence. My evidence comes from experiance. I can't say the suits don't work, because i have never experimented with one. But i have no desire to buy one.
  16. Re: drop away rest Finn, Does the shakey hold the arrow on?
  17. Re: This has got to be...(pic) "Whats your name? He'll write it on the wall."
  18. Re: This has got to be...(pic) This should be an experiment to whether deer mind human urine. Was there pics of deer that followed this pic?
  19. Re: Carolina Panther 6point, i don't really know where Mackinaw is but when i worked in Alton, IL. I talked to a lot of guys who claimed to have seen panthers and even mt lions in the Jerseyville area. My stepdad claims he used to see them in our neck of the woods when he was younger.
  20. This season I am going to be even more in tuned to put a nice buck on the wall. I've killed a handfull of bucks but they would all look like fawns compared to the one my stepdad has on the wall. and last year my youger brother killed a pretty nice 9 ptr that now adorns the family fireplace. Now that i bought my own home and have moved out i need some decoration. Needless to say my girlfriend has appointed herself my interior designer. Somehow she has designated the basement my hunting room and my hides and racks will be put down there. But above the fireplace she put some stupid wreath. With some convincing, i made a deal that the wreath can stay until i kill a mounter to take its place. So this is the year. May the Good Lord lead my Eastons true.
  21. Re: drop away rest over on archerytalk.com there seems to be a consensus about the Vital Bow Gear being one of the best. I may look at one this weekend.
  22. Re: Can any one play any Instruments? I played the trombone in highschool. its been 5 years but i bet i could still whip out a couple tunes. I have good muscle memory.
  23. Re: tips on shotting my bow Release on your exhale.
  24. Re: how many people use field dressing gloves? NO...If they were to work anyway I'm always armpit deep anyhow, I'd need a whole tyvek suit. I'm not about finesse. I wear nitrile gloves enough at work I'm not wearing them in my leisure.
  25. Re: What was Your Coolest Hunting Experience. MCH, I had an identical experiance in my first ever bowkill. But the most memorable is definately being with my little brother when he killed his first deer. Ever deer kill large or small is permanantly imbedded in my brain, and will be forever, they're all cool!
