  1. Have fun guys and lets see some pics! Safe traveling.
  2. Ya got that right Steve:). Keep posting Bob, this is a great place as you already know .
  3. Prayers will be sent up for Tred . I like his NY style and the man has done some great accomplishments in the field and water. Hope he makes a full recovery.
  4. 777 primers in my CVA Wolf and Winchester primers in my T/C Thunderhawk.
  5. I too have and shoot the Wolf. Paid $135 about 3 or 4 years ago. Put a $100 Bushnell 2-7X40 on it with T/C Gorilla grip rings. The 2 deer I have shot with it have not gone beyond 30 yards. I find that 2 pellets of 777 with 777 primers too and a 295gr powerbelt give me my best accuracy at 100 yards. I like the short barrel for walking NY's woods. The ramrod is a bit flimsy, so be careful when charging and seating the bullets. The no nonsense black I like and the pistol grip feels good in my hands. For the money I think you can't go wrong.

    Well

Have a safe trip home and hopefully there will be no one on the plane to snap a pic of a tired Tim:D.
  7. I saw it Mike! BIG GRIN on ya . Congrats on the pic getting published and a fine goat too.
  8. Keeping scrapes fresh does pique the curiosity of bucks. When I find a scrape, I add a bit of yellow stuff myself to it:D. All urine turns to ammonia shortly thereafter, so I help keep it fresh. This year I picked a bottle of Tinks mock scrape juice. We'll see how it works.
  9. Hmmm....lets see. Been hunting since 85. Went deerless the 1st 6 years! Since then at least 2 every year with the rifle/smokepole since then, with doe kills leading the count. I put notches on the forend of my Marlin30/30 (11 on that gun alone). About a dozen or so with the bow. 3 bucks, the rest does. I love shooting does, shooting mature ones with the bow and young ones with the gun.
  10. We leave our block 4x4 out in the yard year round and the sun does deteriorate it. No doubt. If you shoot broadheads into it and have more than one archer using it, the target will last about a year. We are on our last side, the 4 diamonds and are having arrows bury to the fletch. I do not think heat effects it at all.
  11. Awesome Kyle...just awesome. That is one cute happy kid. Glad he looks like Jen. Just kiddin':D. Enjoy EVERY moment...take lots of pics...they grow up fast.
  12. I hear ya pal, I know exactly what you mean. Occasionally, my son Joe and I go up to a Catholic retreat property(150+ acres) a few miles from home after dinner, to observe/glass the 4 and 5 and maybe even 6 and 7 year old, 10 and 12pters grazing out in the fields there. We bring buckets and paper towels to contain the drooling . There is no buck/deer take objective by NYS DEC in our county due to the amount of land that cannot be hunted. We have quite a few popers and booners running around here too. I am 40 miles north of NYC.
  13. I agree totally. Let it cool down, let the police do their thing and become like and elephant...never forget . Hope your wife is OK, the most important thing here. You my friend, are of no use to her in the hoosegow.

    Thanks Casey

The BEST board on the net, with the BEST members too....
  15. I guess she had some good tires huh? Wow... how could anyone be so clueless?
  16. Hate to disappoint y'all, but I heard there are no more big deer in Ohio:D...at all. Thats what I heard. Good Luck Mike have a great time. The body weight on those deer in ILL must be double that of those Texas. Stay clam and pick a spot .
  17. Seen it before, but it always makes me laugh.
  18. I have seen the Brennekes print pretty darn well out of my sons .20ga at 100 yards from his Mossberg 500 with a rifled slug bbl. His shot deer tip right over from those slugs. Do not use rifled slugs in a rifled bbl. Use only saboted slugs in rifled bbls. Rifled slugs are for smooth bores. You can shoot them, but the best accuracy will be achieved using what is recommended by the manufacturer. Beside all the leading that crud up your lands and grooves.
  19. WTG getting another involved in the shooting spots. Just don't teach her everything...she might start out shooting you! Good Luck to the both of you this coming season.
  20. Love them deep forks Steve. Thanks for sharing .
  21. I too have shot smaller bucks. Leave the cam out for a while and see what you get. If there are bigger bucks that tickle your fancy, then hold out for them. I know I'd be happy with a buck that size, but I know in my woods there are quite a few deer out there and I would not rush to get bone on the ground. That buck looks like a good 2 1/2 or maybe 3 year old. I love the way the antler hooks around on the right side. The points are all set, he will adding mass and tine length now. In a few weeks, you might even get pics of shedding velvet and bloody horns. Good Luck this season.
  22. Food gifts are the best...enjoy it Tim, and we want a full review, so we can pester William like everyone pesters Luke for that tasty syrup of his:D WTG William and Catrina:). Again...this is the best board with the BEST folks on it .
  23. Those smiles make it all worth it John:). Your a good Dad;). Cute gals you have there, keep that shotgun loaded because the boys will be callin' soon enough. Happy Birthday to the girls.

    New fun truck

Nice...Congrats and good luck with it. What year is it? It looks to be body wise in great shape. Take care of it and it will take care of you. My 95 1500 Silverado 5.0/305 motor has 170,000 miles on it and it is just starting to burn a little oil.

    Crossing the line

I say you had to do what you had to do. Numero Uno comes 1st.
