    Sweet new Hard Hat

Sweet hard hat Ben, enjoy it. Yeah, we make fun of guys who wear them too. Did ya get a sweat band for it? If not PM me your addy and I'll send ya one. I wear a lid all day and the sweatband helps it be tolerable. Come October, I will be breaking out my Realtree Hardwoods hard hat:). BTW, OSHA does not approve they are the enforcement arm safety laws. NIOSH approves;). I have the OSHA 30 under my belt.
  2. The week after July 4th, my shed was broken into at our hunting camp/country house, and my son Mikes Yamaha 03 TTR125 was stolen. They tried to get my 4 wheeler, but it was locked up too good. The bike had a chain through the swing arm and rear wheel, but it wasn't chained to anything so it was carried out. 10 days later, the police recovered the bike from someone who traded for it and gave a full signed statement of how the bike was obtained. Last night. I got a call from the Detective handling the case telling me a arrest was made! WOO HOO! The cops wanted this guy bad. He has been trouble for this town for quite some time I was told. My hat is off to the Police of Fallsburg, NY on excellent police work and communication of what was going on. I was assured the whole time that they will get their man...and they DID! I will have to sue the person in small claims court for the damage to the bike about $500 worth and the fee($120) I had to pay to recover the bike from the pound. The article in todays paper. I am tickled pink. Great job to ALL the police out there! http://www.recordonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20090827/NEWS/908279984/-1/NEWS

  12. I am probably stealing his thunder by posting this, but I am proud of him with the way he shoots his bow. This is how my son Joes day started out waking at 10am. Mathews DXT & Slick Trick meet Mr. Groundhog. This is his #8 with the DXT. He nailed it this morning right on the perimeter of the garden. It was on his way for the cucumbers and he wasn't about to let it happen. The first 2 pics are exactly where and how he died. Perfect double lung shot . Died in about 6 seconds. The boy is deadly with that bow . Entrance: Exit: Fusion Vanes & Slick Trick = deadly:

Welcome to the Realtree forums Slicktrick . You'll like it around here.
  19. Wishing her luck Charlie. I'm sure she will do well. You've raised 'em right . Very nice collage also, loved how you did the black and white and left her eyes blue . I got hungry just listening to what you ate! BTW...How is your finger(s)?
  20. I don't know if this has been posted, but this is the most insane water slide I have EVER seen. It was sent to me by a friend who lives in upstate NY. http://www.acetj.com/videos/player.php?mediaID=3045
  21. We had a few Wildviews 5.0 and they keep getting sent back for repair. They cannot handle the NY winters and once it drops below freezing, the camera won't work. They also are not too good at battery life. Customer service takes forever to get a replacement. The pic quality is pretty good when it works. Spend a few more $$$ and get a better trail cam.

    What is....

It had to be beyond a shadow of a doubt, wrestling and drowning my son Joes 1st deer, he was 14. He spined it with his 1st arrow, 2nd arrow, gut shot it, and it was pulling itself down towards the reservoir behind the house. We have a no firearm discharge in this town or I would have shot it. The doe made it to the stream and the current pulled it down stream. Heck...I had my rubber boots on... this stream is shallow...right? WRONG! I sank and was knocked over from the rushing stream (Dec 7th and it is 15 degrees out). I float down and catch up to the doe at a blowdown, she is bawling like mad. I get to my feet grab her by the neck and under she goes kicking like mad. She was dag gum strong , but my adrenaline was flowing. Joe was watching it all on the shore with his mouth open in total disbelief as to what was happening. I won, the deer lost. But did the deer really lose? I had a digital camera in my pocket, soaked from my swim, was at the brink of frost bite from having been in the stream in Decemeber. THEN... to top it all off, I cut my finger sticking the knife through its ear to put the tag on it( fingers were numb from the cold), go to the ER for stiches and the nurse comes running out asking me if I am OK...I said I cut my finger..."but you have blood all over you"..."Oh that...you should see the other guy"..." I'm calling the Police!" NO don't...It is only deer blood, I was butchering a deer and got cut" I had a $100 co pay at the ER and 5 stiches in my left index finger and a no good digital camera to boot... So did the deer lose? It had the last laugh. That incident made Joe a crackshot with his bow. He has NEVER had to track a deer since.
  23. Hmmm, outside of my family...which are NOT possessions. I'd have to say the hardware store( Crescent Arms) single shot .410 that my Grandfather bought back in the 40's. I will be leaving my 3 sons a whole bunch of items that I am sure, in the future will not be allowed to be sold anymore;).
  24. Glad you got your boat out of harms way Lewis. Stay safe up there.
  25. Well my weirdest find wasn't in the woods , but the desert of West Texas. Found a bunch of old Indian arrow heads, meteorites and a dead mule deer buck hung up by its right back leg on the barb wire of the fence. It was eaten hollow and the shell remained. I twisted the head off the carcass and took the skull cap home to mount.
