    My Boys Weekend

Congrats on your boys doing so well and a BIG congrats to you for raisin' 'em right .
  3. You are correct Joe, BUT....Remington loaded this cartridge since it being a rimfire, and while Vmax gets the projectile credit, Remington loaded the case with the proper propellant and matched it perfectly with the bullet.
  4. You're are in good company there John . You are part of what makes this place so great:).
  5. Nice drawing...you have some potential there.

    Here it is

Congrats on the milestone:). Yeah I have to agree...some pretty darn good folks in here .
  7. They are a good band and I am sorry they are breaking up. But I do not blame them for maybe wanting to take it easy.
  8. Wow... That is a Lake City/Nato round also. I am surprised. That stuff is usually top of the line brass. Glad no one got hurt. Could the extractor have been a bit too aggressive?
  9. Bleaching will deteriorate the bone. Use ONLY peroxide to whiten it. Beauty supply stores sell the heavy duty peroxide 30-40% that is used to color hair. I buy the white peroxide and brush it on the skulls then mix a paste with borax and peroxide and cover the skull with that. Make sure you protect the antlers/horns with aluminum foil or it will whiten that also. Go easy on the wash out because heavy water spray will ruin the nasal cavity. You really can't go wrong with that kit from Van Dykes either. http://www.vandykestaxidermy.com/product/102434/skull-bleaching-kit The Peroxide alone. http://www.vandykestaxidermy.com/product/102999/40-volume-hydrogen-peroxide There are many threads on here about doing Euro mounts. Do a search.
  10. Bought my 1st bow off the job from a co worker for $100. Bear Whitetail Legend, shooting the aluminum telephone pole sized shafts:clown: It was and inch too long on the draw, but what the heck did I know. I just wanted to bowhunt. I practiced with it until I could hit the bulleseye and keep the arrows tight. Very 1st morning bowhunting in 1999, at sunrise I shot a big doe at 25 yards out of my Summit climber here in our backyard. I hunted 2 seasons with that bow, killed 5 deer with it too, until I got serious and bought a Mathews Outback that actually fit me.
  11. Yotes have the longest season out of any game animal we can hunt here in NYS. Their season here runs from Oct 1st to March 31st. I wish NYS would let us hunt them year round without limit. They are a regulated speciaes here in NY and are considered a game animal. Anyone who hunts my land has to agree to shoot a yote if they see one when in season. All on the Honor system.
  12. Wow...such detail. You have a gift my friend...Yes you do.
  13. Good Luck with the new truck. Hope your son enjoys the extra legroom. I know what you mean about the truck stickers:clown: Your a good man Tink. I put the Tink's sticker you gave me on my truck .

Coke...ONLY. When I drink soda. Pepsi donates to Handgun Control Inc and HSUS. That is enough for me to keep my $ out of those hands.
  15. A smart bear like that can be dangerous. Think about what could be next...It could take the truck into town without permission and leave ya on empty too:clown:. Smart critter no doubt.
  16. You are right on Don with that assessment of the MOA Vanguards. They test fire them all, and the ones that are sub MOA go into a special group that they think command more $$$. My Vanguard in 7mm rem mag shoots better than I can. I think I paid $315 at Wally world about 7 years ago or better. You won't be disappointed with the Vanguard. For the dough, it is a steal. Then again...those Sako are great also. Good Luck with whatever you choose.
  17. Glad you are getting out there with the AR Tracy:). Ain't it a saaaaweeeet little gun? I clean after every firing session, pull the bolt, disassemble it and clean the bbl, lube with Break Free CLP. Gas operated guns get dirty, not fouled... dirty. As far as a trigger job, I too have become so used to the factory triggers. It is a matter of getting used to it if there is creep. My Colt has the best factory trigger out of my 3 Ar's.
  18. Very nice...a lot of character there in that rack. Maybe a 2 1/2 year old? He could get huge if he gets a pass this coming season.
  19. Glad you made it home in one piece Tim. You have to be one of the busiest pro staffers that Realtree has. Outside of the ones who have their own shows. Always on the road. We appreciate you being there Tim;). PS, if I were you... I'd send Mike something just to stop posting that pic of you on the plane:clown:.
  20. Happy Birthday Jeff. Hope you had a great day and things are getting a little better with the in laws too.
  21. Incredible...these city hugging reporters have NO clue as to what the avg American who lives outside the metropolis' feels about the issues raised in this interview. Love it when he says...You don't have a problem with God ...do you?" I'd buy a truck from him. Thanks for sharing this.
  22. Your making me drool Kirk . Looks delicious.
  23. There is not a day that goes by that I do not crave the hunt of something... I have been shooting woodchucks to ease that itch . We get deer here in our yard just about every night and the pics on the trail cam have been making me drool. So, to answer your question...Yes I have the bug Go get fitted for a good bow and practice practice practice.
