  1. OK thats good to hear...I sure Pop knows his way around a panel. Just can never be too safe. As far as the weatherhead goes, using pipe or SE cable directly to the wall? Check the local codes, it may be different where I am.
  2. Wow...amazing scenery. Breath taking. Again...Wow. One day...One day, Good Lord willing... I will be out of the north east and have my own piece of paradise. Working in the city really makes you appreciate the woods and the serenity ONLY the outdoors folk can relate to. Right down the street is a about a half of dozen stables with horses all over. These are the horses that take tourists for rides through Central park and around Manhattan. Weird smelling horse in NYC.
  3. Hey electricity is no joke. Take yer work seriously. Even if Pop is a professional electrician, kill the power if you can. No reason in the world to work live. Check your local codes and make sure you do NOT skimp on the grounding. MUCHO IMPORTANTE. Drive the ground rod as deep as you can and hook up the bldg ground to the street/pump side of the water main or well. Have you done this before? Any questions ask...Been doing it here in NYC for 24 years. Be careful and do not use a aluminum ladder...PLEASE!

    Uh oh!

Leo, I know what you are going through...I had the deviated septum thing done and the sinus' packed with gauze gasping for air. I feel for ya. For some consolation...this can't last forever. Hang in there.
  6. Very good news Chris. Glad to hear it. Hey guys...leave Chris and HIS Cervix alone
  7. Enjoy it Kirk! I like his music.
  8. Good Vid Kathleen...Spring Bear brings good coats. Hope you get one! Hey... you have 7 pins on your bow? For 70 yards? Wow!
  9. Happy Birthday Don. May you have a hundred more:)
  10. Death by fang and claw is a much more violent fate, than the one a hunters arrow bestows. Fred Bear How true. Thanks for sharing that Steve.
  11. Super news Kyle... Glad to hear it. That Pop of yours must be made of steel. Hope he makes a full recovery.
  12. Ahem... I can answer that. We have a bird feeder set up over the trail cam. Squirrels and coons are always tipping and spilling the feeder, so we capitalize on the spill and set the cam up there. There is not a heck of a lot of woods so the critters stick around. Come fall, no more seed in the feeder. For the record...Feeding deer is illegal in NYS, so are mineral licks due the possible spread of CWD. We are feeding birds and it is ONLY bird seed;).

Wow Steve...a close call for sure. We try to protect our kids/grandkids as much as possible, but we cannot be everywhere. Glad he is OK and what a hard lesson learned.
  19. Thanks for the comments guys. Days go very fast on this job. We are only working 7hrs. 7-2:30pm. There is a lot to do and we keep busy so the day flies, until I stop to take pics:clown:. Many cool ships pass by the Hudson here and a few weeks ago, the Obama fly over photo op had guys scrambling as if there was another attack:mad:. BTW, many on this job watched flight 1549 land in the Hudson safely as it was happening. Pigeons fly into the high floors and look to set up nests, and are smart enough to come around at break time for food scraps. I'd like to bring my slingshot and eradicate a few, they crap all over our material and bird poop is not good to handle. The ride up the bldg in the Alimak( temp elevator) is a hairy ride. The car has a hydraulic gear motor that climbs teeth on the rails on the side of the bldg with counter weights on cables. You have never been on a elevator ride until you have been on one of these to the roof of a hi rise . Oh yeah, if anyone ever takes a trip to NYC( don't know why you'd want to come here...but) if any do... give me a shout . I live 40 miles north of the city, and I grew up in the concrete jungle and am prepping for my retirement to the Hill country of Texas...Good Lord willing, 10 more years.
  20. Ahhh...Big sky bucks:). Thanks for sharing.
  21. Y'all just get news reports on Big Al...I have to live with him every night yapping on the news with him stirring the pot in NYC. He just made a deal with the feds to avoid jail time because of unpaid taxes and funneling money from his non profits to his pockets. This guy is NO leader for his kind, just a cheap sensationalist who pounds on opportunity to muck up the water.
