Sullivan county, NY coyote hunting contest
Adjam5 replied to Adjam5's topic in Varmint & Predator Hunting
My son Joe is entered in it. There is a $30 entry fee. He will be up at our camp with his AR and some 50gr V max .223's;) My knee is not good enough to go traipsing around the woods just yet...at night none the less! I'll leave that to the young guys . Just thought I'd get the word out a bit. -
Good Luck and keep 'em in the 10 ring .
-
Good luck with the house Ben. Yeah..that blue has to go. Make sure the inspector does a lead paint test if the house was built before 1976. You do NOT want to be sanding lead paint. Right Steve? Will it be a second home or an investment property?
-
My the girls are getting big Jeff . Great pics. Thanks for sharing.
-
Definitely sounded like someone I would want to meet. Rest in Peace Cliff. He will be walking with you in the woods Steve;).
-
Do you still need it Ruth? We have it here.
-
+2! Mike . Thanks again for coming.
-
Congrats on a big accomplishment and thank you for your service;)

They may be able to make you eat crap Will, but they can't make you like it. Keep looking for a better job, but until then. Suck it up a bit. Jobs are hard to come by now a days.

I'm trapping about 5 years now. Mostly getting coon and possum.A bunch of house cats that I let go. Oh yeah... and one beaver. I am learning with each set up..

Great stuff there Mike. That looked like a lot of work putting that together. It was a pleasure hosting you at my slice of heaven on earth. During the spring and fall, the views are incredible on the Columbia. That hotel was rocking and rolling back in the day when the Catskills was THE happening place to vacation. Luckily all that land backs up to our land;). We use it like it is ours. My friends enjoyed meeting you also and were happy that you came out and supported the FD and the youth commission . I told a few guys you were a photog for Field n Stream when they asked who you were:D. That has been a annual thing for me for the last 15 or so years. Yes the Stone Cold Bacon wrapped venison bits were a BIG hit! The town Judge even gave the thumbs up on them. Sorry I was short on grits for breakfast, but we did have the slab bacon with eggs and biscuits. When better weather comes around, come on back up, or out however way you want to come. Just come back . Thanks for coming Mike.

This was a full ACL reconstruction using my hamstring as a graft. No chance of rejection as with cadaver parts. Here is the link of the procedure if you are interested Ruth. Click on the knee icon. http://www.sportsknee.com/education_aclhamstringkatek.htm

I have seen that before John. Don't quite know if it is a funny, but sure as heck is quite appropo to the current situation in this country.

Super clip Mike! That clip alone makes me feel like I missed something REAL special. WTG Randy! You are one incredible shot .

Thanks for the well wishes guys. Y'all helped me heal;). I personally am not in the contest, my son Joe is. There is a $30 reg fee. They are trying hard to get hunters to shoot yotes there, and this is how they do it. $100 for each yote brought in, $200 for the heaviest of the day and $2000 of the largest/heaviest over all that weekend. Not bad huh? With all the snow I am not too mobile with my knee not being 100% to run and gun. My old bones can't handle sitting out there at 2 am anymore with a spotlight. Let the young whipper snappers have the fun. Here is the story on the contest. It is an old(2008) link, but the prizes are the same http://www.recordonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080124/NEWS/801240322 Ross, my wife bought it at Sears it is the ProForm 390E. A little different from the professional one at therapy, but it does the same job. I think it was $400. With that and the treadmill this place is looking like a gym now . Gives you a good work out.

Saw my Orthopedist yesterday and I got clearance Clarance to return to work this coming Tuesday! Been out since Sept 4th( Friday before labor day weekend) with the torn, now repaired ACL in my left knee. The surgery went well. I was walking the next day and therapy(2X a week) really seemed to help. So much that I bought a Elliptical machine(like the one at therapy) to use at home to expedite my recovery. The only issue I see lifting heavy weights while going up a ladder. Knee still has some pain. I think the building should be closed in by now and the finish work taking place. It was a 45 story hi rise I was working on in NYC. The one thing I am not looking forward to is the commute to the city everyday. That is quite draining on the brain. My hamstring where the Dr took the graft to build me a new ACL is still sore. It is doing the same work with less hamstring. But I am told it will eventually go away as will the pain of the bone growing over the screws in my knee. So, I wish to thank all here at Realtree for keeping me busy and having something to do while I was home for last 6 months. Thanking God also for my recovery with no complications. I got to go to Texas for a week, shoot a few Axis deer, take my middle son AJ on his first deer hunt, did some successful trapping and I will top it off by going ice fishing this weekend up by deer camp in NY's Catskills. Will also do some yote and crow hunting while I am up at deer camp. Again...thanks for helping me get through this injury.

Hopefully no damage anywhere...that is scary.

Good Luck with the job and be careful. I have 5 friends who are affectionately referred to as Hacks. Who knows...depending on how you swing that club...the Yankees might come calling:D. Seriously...be careful, not the best class of folks(inmates) to work with. Congrats on the job.

I have a nickname for guys like that. I call them Topper. No matter what story you tell, they can TOP it. So Topper fits well. Give someone a nudge, and say watch this. Come out with a outrageous story and see if he tops it. You can a lot of fun that way:p
