  1. I play mine a lot too while I'm on the road and the best advice I can give is get at least a 20 Gb hard drive for it along with a cooler fan that attaches in the back. The fan is $20 and the hard drive or "hd" is $100. The cool thing, if you have an HD tv then the Xbox 360 will play games in HD quality as long as you have an HD cable which is around $30. Really blows away the graphics on regular setups. I have the new UFC game and it's really something I think you and your son will love. Very realistic fighting. You can turn the blood and cuts off an on. I know it's a lot of buying but I wouldn't mention them if it wasn't worth the extra money. The reason I say buy the hard drive, is you use up a lot of memory fast with what they provide as a little memory stick plug in. Especially if you rent or plan on renting games. Hope I helped.
  2. Believe it or not, I'm trying to set up one of my Realtree forum buddies on him this fall. Chris is from Louisiana and he's coming up here this November with some friends to hunt Rend Lake. If all goes well, he and his buddies might see some action of this sort during their trip. I'd be just as happy if it were him or me.
  3. I always love when somebody get's a chance to hear from a hunting celebrity and then takes that opportunity and uses it to bash them and their show. This is my thread and if you don't like the shows then don't post on my thread. I respect all opinions but have some manners to the man who does a lot for the hunting community and that includes you too! It's just common courtesy. :hammer1: Thanks Mr. Waddell for your shows. They make the off season go by a lot faster!
  4. Me personally, I think you can't go wrong with a whisker biscuit if you're going to shoot blazers with a helical. If, however, you would like to have more accuracy and less to deal with as far as fletching your arrows and such, you can't miss with a Rip Cord or a QAD Ultra Rest when shooting F.O.B.'s. Go to www.starrflight.com. Now's the time to decide if you want to try F.O.B.'s and you'll never be sorry for it. Good Luck!!
  5. I don't do taxidermy or have any experience with it but the first thing i would do is talk to all the local shops and ask them if they would teach you or let you learn as you work in the their shop. Then I would see about taking a class that is a week or two long during your vacation time. It'd have to be in either the Spring or early Summer as that would likely be their busy time of the year. I had a buddy who's still green at doing this but he used to pick up roadkill specimens that were in good shape and practice on them. Surely you can find a coon or two on the weekend and go from there. From what I've heard, the hardest specimens are the birds and the small critters. Meticulous. Good luck and I hope above all, you have fun with it.
  6. I use 100% pure acetone. Then after I clean it, I replace it with a F.O.B.! LMBO! I used to waste my time fletching too but I've since moved on. :clown:
  7. I took a couple pics yesterday morning 6/15/09. He's gonna be a giant I think. With growth like that this early, I'm guessing high marks on his future rack. Hang on to your hats!
  8. Congrats buddy! Beautiful baby boy ya got there. I love the name Cash too. It only gets better and you will adjust. Just remember to be the man of the house which means always be the first to sacrifice for you family. I'm proud of ya man. Congrats to both of you!
  9. That whole no sleep for 56 hrs. It's a good start. Call it training for the next 9 months:laser:. LOL. Congrats on the baby Kyle and tell mamma good job too!. Be extra nice to her and watch for that post postpartum depression. Beautiful baby boy man.
  10. Congrats to the both of you! I truly hope you find happiness in all you do together for the rest of your lives. It's a journey that is best when experienced together and you support each other in every decision. I think this would make a great story for the Realtree.com front page. Good luck you two and I wanna see pics.
  11. Just to be clear, it's every citizen's duty to not only keep and bear arms but also to defend our country against all enemies foreign and domestic. Looks like some of those right wing wackos aren't so wacko after all. :hammer1:
  12. I know the prices are high in Illinois and surrounding states. I'm fortunate enough to live in Illinois so I can avoid the higher prices for a big whitetail. My buddy and I were talking about paying to hunt on a guys property just north of us. We decided against that and ever paying to hunt for whitetails anywhere else in the country. Why do that when you are already in one of the best states in the country for deer and we can hunt tons of public and private property? I decided that the only way I'd ever hunt in another state is if it was for a different species than I can hunt in Illinois. That's why I'm saving for a trip to hunt in Wyoming with Mr. Beilgard if he'll let me next year. I figure the money's worth it and it's an experience I'll never forget. I've seen tons of Antelope on my trips through Wyoming so I'm pretty jazzed about the chances. I just think the thrill is in hunting and learning about a new species you don't see all the time. It's something I think is worth filming and saving forever. Good luck fellas and I guess that's why they call them hunt's of a lifetime.

Not to hijack the thread but one night on duty at the hospital, I got called up to the 3rd floor. I hopped on the elevator and was exiting it just in time to see a little old lady crack one of the male nurses over the head with one of the hospital mugs filled with ice. Even though it's plastic, she sent him to the ground. I rushed over to get the mug from her and she threw it down and squared off with me. (I'm trying not to laugh as I type this.) Me and a few other nurses let her hold onto the guard rail along the wall while we tried to decide what to do. One nurse got a chair and she sat down in it. On the count of 3, we rushed her. Each person grabbed one arm and one leg while the House Charge gave her a shot of Adavan to calm her down. The shot was given and thinking that she would relax, I made the mistake of letting go of the woman's left arm. As soon as I let go, I felt this pop under my chin. THE LITTLE OLD LADY HIT ME WITH AN UPPERCUT!!! Then she started cussing me and said, "There's more where that came from you little ***hole!" Finally her daughter arrived and helped calm her down until the drugs took effect but my Gosh. I explained to the daughter and we both couldn't help but laugh until we both had tears in our eyes.

I don't see how this is "cop bashing." It's a simple question for someone who has a very good background for this opinion. No bashing that I see.

Here's my take on it. If my initial perception is flawed then the whole idea I have is no good. I thought that the original purpose of a tazer was to avoid the use of a gun in situations where a gun might be required to subdue a subject wether it be a human or an animal. I really don't see why the officer had to use the tazer in this situation. Being a big guy myself, I would have thought that hand to hand would have not only looked better but also been more effective to just cuff her and stick her in the back of the car. I mean compare the two. An officer is shown wrestling and trying to physically subdue a violent and beligerent 72 year old woman. OR... Officer on film tazering a violent and beligerent 72 year old woman. Trust me when I say that anybody here thinking I don't know what I'm talking about needs to remember I worked in a hospital for 4 years as a security guard. I have been in these situations and a lot of times by myself. I've dealt with 300 lb schitzo's covered in their own feces. I've had to help strap down the 110 lb meth head that feels no pain. And yes I've seen the tazers used in a lot of situations where I know it was required. I don't care how beligerent this woman was, tazering was not required from my pov. If she was that bad, then he should have just cuffed her and then dealt with her when and if she resisted that.
  17. Sources from ESPN are saying that Mayfield tested positive for Meth. Now this could lead to many conclusions because of all the ingredients in Meth. Some over the counter drugs can trigger a Meth test to be positive. Who knows. Last time I checked, none of the standard drug tests can confirm specifically if it was meth. A standard test only confirms things such as THC, Barbituates and classifications like that. At least that's what I understood from working at the hospital.
  18. My buddy Chuck taught me a good method and really good for does and bucks you don't want to mount. Hang a rope over a strong tree limb about head high and tie the other end to the base of the tree. Tie a loop at the end and place your doe's head in it. Cut and peel the front legs like normal. Skin in front of the shoulder and peel about 4-6" down at the back of the neck. Take another strong piece of rope, a large rock and a tractor or truck. Put the rock under the rolled back skin flap (with the rock making contact with hair) and tie a loop around the rock on the other side. Tie the other end of the rope to your ball hitch or your tractor's ball hitch and drive forward slowly pulling the skin off the deer carcass. It only takes a few minutes and I've seen more fat and a cleaner carcass with this than any other method I've done. I was impressed.
  19. Well, here's the back story to my friend's pic she posted on MySpace. I wanted to see if I was right about her shooting form in this pic not to mention I wanted to let ya'll know that her husband designs Hoyt Bows. He's an engineer and I think they live in Utah. I don't really keep up on that brand. She and I used to work at the same hospital together and he wanted me to join the local chapter of Rocky Mt. Elk Foundation. I still talk to her on MySpace but last I heard, they were on shakey ground. I told her I would be willing to do field testing for them but I might be a little bias just because I love Matthew's. Anyway, I think her form is a little off. What's ya'lls opinion?
  20. I think Bill, Michael and David should hire me and Kyle as consultants for each show. We'll take pay through product. I'm sure Kyle can deal with new Hoyt's every year and I can deal with new Matthew's bows. I think that's fair.:D:D
  21. If you watch the rest of the video, the coon fell to the ground. I joined their forum just to post my opinion. Black mark on us all.
  22. Well, I guess I'm just wondering if Road Trips is going to continue in light of the new show. I love seeing both shows and I really think Waddell and his producers have reinvented hunting shows much like Bill Jordan did when he introduced Monster Bucks. To tell the truth, I like Bone Collectors even more than Road Trips and I never thought I'd say that about Road Trips. Unbelievable shows and I can't wait for every episode. In fact, I think Bone Collectors should be an hour long show. Would be well worth the time. By the way, Tim, the Bone Collector Logo is going to be my first tattoo.
  23. I was just wondering about something. Is Bone Collectors replacing Road Trips? I know Waddell has a ton of things on his plate but I can definitely see Road Trips going to the way side in favor of Bone Collectors. I love both but I can see where Bone Collectors is taking off with product development and endorsement. I know it's hard enough to come by those endorsement dollars with the economy where it's at right now. Just wondering and I wish the best for both shows. Thanks.
  24. My little girl Kyleigh Jo turns 1 today! Happy birthday sweetheart. I love you very much! She's a mature 1 though so I have to let her hold her own bottle when folks get here for our little get together. We're having the usual fanfare of hotdogs and burgers with a Blue's Clue's cake. I'm saving the smoked ribs for tomorrow.
