  1. Re: buddy connected on first longbow hunt!! Thanks guys....Well mick i've been told there are a lot of deer in the concord area, and i scouted with lots of sign. also found a lot of stand ... i hope that means there are a lot of deer..... I do have my liscence, and i got lucky with 4 doe tags:)
  2. Re: buddy connected on first longbow hunt!! Mick i havn't made it out to my spot in Sudbury yet, this was taken in NY.. ........we took teh heart and pan friend it with a little woozy sauce, onions and garlic served with scrambled eggs..........mmmm **** taht was good.
  3. Re: no luck yet in new york for me What county are you in in NY?.....
  4. Re: buddy connected on first longbow hunt!! yep thats one of our quivers.. its kinda our signature one, liek yur but a little bit smaller, called teh razorbak:)
  5. My buddy finally connected on a small doe with his longbow. we have eben practicing all year and i am going primarily longbow this year, he was hesitant until i convinced him to take it to a stand that always puts out does...he took her running at 10 yards.. double lung an top of heart.. she went 30 yards and expired...... dont worry we practice these shots and are 3 for 3 with them.
  6. Re: Shotgun for Deer questions i have a 1974 rem 1100, with a hasting rifle barrel.... the best i have found are teh lightfield 2 3/4 sabots. I have taken deer from 145 yards to 5 yards with these, never ahd a deer run more than 30 yards with these, they hit very hard.....oh i also liek a 2 x simmons pro-diamond scope. i dont like magnification that much
  7. Re: Traditonal Bow (Pics And Questions) howatt does make a beautiful bow, however it being valuable is a question, most can pick up a decent used howatt for 100-150$, but it is a great bow for that price.
  8. Re: Awesome Long Island Deer! well not average for MOST northeast deer. I have seen a few northern bucks bigger than that, but it is a monster. Any deer given long enough to live can get big:)
  9. Re: any pictures of wraped arrows tell ya what i shoot arrows wraps unlimited and i have yet to have a problem. he also does custom designs for me, i like reflective so at night they are easy to locate after a shot.
  10. Re: Bad Shots on Hunting shows...... Actually in it perfectly legal here in NY to shoot geese witha bow, i do agree that there are some god awsul shots taken on TV. even Stan Potts, i liek him a lot, but even he took a real questionable shot on a bruiser... i have seen many goose hunters put pellets into geese only to see them coast off. no different than with a bow.
  11. Re: My pretty orange stick (pic) it is a great thing shooting the longbow.it has given me a whole new respect for hunting. i jsut started this past year and i shoot everyday in my apartment in Boston... my fiance hate that:)
  12. Re: My pretty orange stick (pic) yes sir that is a nice bow, i 've even shot it before:0.. where did ya get that purty lil' arm guard? .. i made the switch this year and may never look back
