Went out to the lake today and ended up limiting out on trout but also had a completely wild deer come up to me (a button buck) and try chewing on my pocket where it smelled my pack of gum. I also caught a 20" brook trout that was around 6 inches from stomach to back. Trying to add the pics from today but not sure how.

take lots of stream pictures I haven't make it to the elk river yet or franklin... plannin on goin to cranberry and camping one weekend and fishing all weekend in april.

I actually live in Fairmont, I'll make the trip to shavers for once in a while... gandy a few times a yr., coopers rock sometimes if i feel like standing shoulder to shoulder. Is there anywhere to get wax worms or maggots in fairmont? I haven't found anywhere

Mostly around Fairmont and Morgantown, I usually get maggots by cheat lake but he's been sellin out of em like crazy.

Does anyone know any legit websites to order live bait from. I have trouble finding maggots and wax worms around here for trout fishing so I was thinkin about ordering some. Thanks!

Our doe season came back in for 3 days starting today, so i took out my muzzleloader. Stalked up on two does bedded and put a 40yrd head shot on the bigger one, this is my first deer with this muzzleloader and it's about time! Equipment: .45 cal Winchester Apex 209 mag., 195 gr. barnes expander mz, 100 gr. of triple7, rem. kleanbore 209 primer, cabelas pine ridge 2.5-7X scope. Would post pics but they're a little gruesome for the forum and for respect of the animal.

What's the difference in these two?

Shooting powerbelt aerotips 195 gr. and got 1" groups at 100 yrds with 4 shots... shot two shots with 195 gr. barnes mz expander and hit within the group from the powerbelts... think i'll stick with either of them... thanks

Lookin at rifle today, the guy working told me to check out a mossberg 4x4 bolt action, i pretty much fell in love with with the feel and look of the gun. It's also in my price range!! Wondered if any had any experience with one and what caliber would be best. ( I mainly just use my rifle for deer but might go bear hunting some in the next few years) Leaning to the .300 win mag.

I'm using a .45 cal muzzleloader. Just wondered what bullet wait would be ideal to get max. speed and force when using 100 gr. of triple7.

I think it should be fine with the new scope, goin to shoot it friday morning, but if things don't pan out.. I'll be takin the 300 out next monday. Thanks for the info

I cleaned it like it was my job last night, and changed the scope on it. Till now it's only had a 4X scope which doesn't make 100 yrds a whole lot easier especially if it's a small target. It hasn't been overly shot at all (usually just a few shots every year to make sure its sighted in and then whatever is shot at game) I think the new 2.5-7X scope i put on it will do the trick. The scope might have actually been the problem since it's old and isn't a really great scope. Thanks for the feedback ... appreciate it

for a gun that's really old to just stop holing groups for you? I've shot the same marlin 30-30 since i was like 10 and now i'm 24... it's shot great for me every year (with the same bullet and same grain) and i've killed many deer with it, but for some reason I can't hold a group whatsoever this year. Could it be due to the age of the gun(it's been handed down 3 generations) or just human error?? I'm goin crazy over it

SO I guess no one has really used it yet? Oh well, for like 10$ i might as well just try it out, it couldn't hurt.

Has anyone tried this yet or know anyone that has... it looks good and the scent being warm is a great concept, just tryin to get any feedback on it.
