  1. The stand I was hutning a few times last week is a pretty good spot but only for does. I see about 10 deer a night though, but all does and button buck and a small spike. Should I hang around the area since the does should attract bucks to that spot or move to somewhere else?
  2. saw a spike cruisin by my stand today.... stopped and smelled me active scrape scent and let out a little grunt.... but not too much goin on yet
  3. looks like you'll be shooting montec's for good now!!
  4. definately go with the montec's but sharpen them up before using the may not be too sharp out of the package... i shot mine for the first time and they hit exactly the same as my field pts.... i was hitting three in a 2" circle at 30 yrds. bring on that buck!
  5. definately good songs... and escanaba in da moonlight is great!!
  6. I shot a deer with a muzzy last year, it flew good, but I switched to G5 Montecs this year.
  7. Never did care for it! Had a buddy use it and didn't like it. Really no reason that I don't like it just don't see why you would need one.
  8. A button bucks, i'm guessing i was around 12. Shot it and it fell, then I got a little excited and stuck it 2 more times cuz i was afraid it would get away. Went to find my dad and we walked up and he said " what is it a porcupine." Little did I know, the first shot was fatal. Learned alot since then, thank god. If not i'd never have any meat left on a deer! lol
  9. Sounds like my one of my buddy's, everytime he shoots a deer he'll be like... I was on th ephone and then there it was! haha
  10. Does anyone have a certain CD that they listen to on their way hunting everytime. Mine gets started as soon as I hit the seat of my blazer on the way to every hunt. On mine is: some hank! a little david allen coe, some songs that seem to pop into my head while in the stand every year, a little nugent, and a few songs that have to do with hunting. Just curious if i'm the only person that does this! haha
  11. The season starts here in Wv in about 2 weeks! Can't wait but had a bad outbreak of EHD at home. Luckily I got a spot down here at school the seems to be a $$ spot, hope to post some pics from there soon.
  12. I got one last year, but I got it kinda late and didn't get to use it at the right time.... but I love the sound of it! Hope it works well for ya! I did get a few small bucks to come to it though.
  13. I don't like my bow at all but I'm in school and don't have the $$ to get a new one yet!!! haha
  14. heard of 266 deer found dead from it in sw PA and I know a farm that I hunt near the stateline in Wv has lost quite a few. It's gonna be a tough season at that.
  15. Thanks.... just knew it came early and i alwasy miss it.
  16. Just wondered how to get on a team for deer season and when that started up?

    Teams

Just wondered when they do the teams that I see every yr. and how you get on them. I'd like to be able to if possible
  19. Alright, a few years back I was at an outdoor show and got a tony stewart camo hat. Lost the hat at a bar last yr. and haven't been able to find the hat again! It was all camo with the # 20 in like a tan color on the front, it was velcro back with nascar on the velcro part and a black section on one side of the bill with team realtree in tan letters! If anyone knows where to find this hat or has seen one on the internet please let me know. Thanks
  20. Re: Target Practice At our archery club we use a rubber backstop, if you know of any plants with used conveyor belts that are in decent shape they work great. Although there may be some work involved because u'd have to build a wall to attach the rubber to.
  21. Re: deer Food plot... If you have the right conditions and soil then it would be the best bet, the right food plot and maintenance should last at least each yr. opposed to buying several bags of feed or several mineral blocks. Just try to find a secluded area that is open enough for a food plot and it should hold deer and really help with nutrition.
  22. Re: Help With Bow... I've also looked at the Fred Bear line lately and they seem to be nice bows and not too bad pricing.
  23. Re: Help With Bow... I've shot a PSE my whole life and I love their bows, myself I was lookin lately and like the PSE Mojo or Octane, I prefer longer axle-to-axle though. I'd say go to a Cabela's or something and shoot a few and see which feels best. In the end it's always what fits ur comfort, style, and price range.
  24. Now that gun season is over, I get to hit the woods with the bow again and finally get some time to hunt since I'm off school for x-mas break. So i'll be hitting the woods a few days for about the next week till extended doe firearm comes back in for 4 days. Just to to stick one more witht he bow for the yr. and hopefully get a crack at the buck i've been waiting for all yr.
  25. I wish wv would put a pt. restriction on for the state, other states that have done it seem to be getting more mature bucks, which means better breeding. And i wish the buck limit would lower, right now it's 3 bucks, there's just too many people that kill the smaller bucks with good potential and don't let them grow. This is just wishful thinking because i really can't do much about it... hopefully once i finish school I can finally buy my own land and not have to worry about it.
