  1. I normally put out my mineral licks out in early Spring so the deer have it when it's needed the most. I just put up a new stand and want to draw some deer to it. (It's by a deer trail) I don't use a feeded due to the bears. Is it too late to put this out?
  2. Nice pics and good mass on those bucks already!
  3. Great looking deer! I wouldn't mind seeing them walk by my stand!
  4. The smile says it all! Congrats on a great looking fish!
  5. I saw it and loved it! Great action!
  6. Found these guys on the cam. Since I haven't checked my camera in a while and the batteries went dead, these guys should have some additional growth since then. Early May on the pair. Also had some additional visitors to the mineral lick.
  7. I would say 15' minimum but I put mine at 18' and I'm also on the side of a hill. That gives me an extra 5' in front of me (good) but puts me eye level sometimes behind me with the deer (bad). Most deer in that travel pattern come below me though.
  8. Don't have a regular routine. I have an elevated stand behind the house and shoot at 20 yards. I mostly always use the 3-D target when I know everything is lined up. Only use the block or bag if I think I am shooting left or right on the 3-D. The bulls eye lets me know that it's not the bow, usually. I may shoot 6 arrows or I might shoot 12. The first shot is what counts so I really don't like to 'warm-up' per se. If my first arrow is spot on, I might quit for the evening. I do shoot more sometimes just to develop my bow muscles.
  9. Really sorry to hear that. Been there, done that until we got a sump pump and the county cleaned out their lines. Hopefully it was just water but that is bad enough. Hope things dry out for you.

    Hello Folks!

Welcome back! Looking forward to your posts!
  11. Hope everything continues to go well with your therapy. Follow their instructions and remember their "No, you won't be able to..." doesn't mean you can't!
  12. Thoughtful message and very true!
  13. And yes, Happy Anniversary! We just celebrated out 9th!
  14. Went down to the Baltimore Orioles game this past Sunday (around 2 1/2 hrs from us) in Baltimore and walked around the Inner Harbor. Wanted to eat at the Cheesecake Factory but it was a 2 hour wait! The Inner Harbor is really a cool place to go. Was down there last year as well and really enjoyed it.
  15. Anyone out practicing? It has been way too hot here even in the morning and evening to shoot. Season starts Sept 15th here in Maryland. Was out a few weeks ago and shooting was good but I hope it cools off soon, for a lot of reasons!
  16. This heat has taken over a lot of the country.I'm sorry to hear what's happening there. As many places, we have a heat advisory over the next couple of days. One area close to here states that heat index in the shade could be 110-115 degrees. I'm planning on hitting the Savage River in the morning for trout. (Tailwaters from the dam-steady flow as long as water is in the reservoir). Supposed to be a bit cooler down there, at least in the morning until around noon. I'm planning on taking lots of water and Gatorade.
  17. Had me on that one until the end!
  18. Been using the trace mineral block from Tractor Supply for years and the deer really like it. Yes, they stop using it around September but get a lot of pics on the trail cam during the Spring and Summer. Let's me know what's out there. Cost around $6.00. I'm sure the Trophy Rock works as well but this is a lot cheaper.
  19. Looks really great! Nice job! Inagural meal should be backstraps!? Or hot dogs and hamburgers?
  20. Very sorry to hear that kind of news. Will pray for you and the friends and family members.
  21. I think I read where he was given season tickets for the rest of the season anyways plus some gifts. He's probably tickled to death! Plus his picture with Derek. If you are a big fan like he is that's a big deal! Maybe you can't put a price on that.
  22. Just heard on the news that the fan that gave the ball back to Derek Jeter may have shortchanged himself. Seems like the ball could be worth $200,000 on the market. I understand tha's a lot of money but sometimes it's about doing the right thing. Am I the only one that thinks that way?

    Your Goals

My goal would be to get a buck or mature doe with the bow and to get a good clean shot. Rifle or muzzleloader would be fine too but the bow is my preference.
