  1. same here, but knowing deer like edges, ive found a few that seem to run between a 2 to 3 year clear cut and some standing timber, or like when i killed my 8 last year he was walking the edge of a pine flat and a hard wood bottom.
  2. yeah seems like very one else is getting wealthy at our exspence.
  3. he is a monster, but the horns just dont look right.:alien:
  4. not bad shooting for 70 yards, and having not shot a bow in awhile.
  5. yeah, they can do alot of damage to the garden, and when they become a nuisance we have the right to thin the herd..
  6. one less snake.. a pretty big one and so close to the house.
  7. me too, seems like it starting to get to be a year long job, but i love it.. all stands are hung, feeders full, cameras out, now just 89 more days till it opener here. hope were going to have the the deer contest again this year [ hint, hint]
  8. real nice buck, hope you get him this season. i can see he already has his watch dog with him.
  9. he's coming right along, if he gets one more point he'l be a 8than we would have to have one thats not looking to good horn wise
  10. you were lucky it didnt spray when you hit it, thats one small it will linger for a long time.
  11. nice.. a few more of them and, it looks like a frog legg dinner
  12. couldnt have said it any better, pretty much sum's it up
  13. i guess im both, i will shot any leagle deer that i have a chance to opening weekend, to but meat in the freezer, haveing a very liberal harvest of 4 deer a year, normaley i will have the freezer mostly full but the time the rut kicks in, allowing me to horn hunt the remander of the season, i guess my style of hunting would be to be in a climber or ladder stand with my bow.
  14. all are essential things for sure, but like doc said food and water of some type, to me is realy high on that list, i cant sit very long with my stomic growling.
  15. im with you on that im still going out and looking around for stand locations, and filling feeders, and have sat in the stand one day trying to kill a hog, its pretty bad sit up there and sweat to death, just hope oct 1st will be a little cooler,.
  16. unfortunatley that might be whats happening, every one tries to find out what the other lease's are feeding the deer, if we use corn they use sweet potatoes and so on, they best you can do is hope your feeding what the deer want and keep the supplied with it.
  17. we had some real bad rain storms the other day ans it flooded out a camp site. http://www.aolnews.com/nation/article/deadly-flash-flood-swamps-arkansas-camp-site/19513002
  18. i cant beleave my luck.. i put out a mineral site last weekend, well my sister i went to hang a few stands and i told her about the site i put out and where i was going to put my sky scraper stand, well as we come up to the site we had seen it was all tore up i was jumping for joy thinking finely i had found something the deer would come to, she asked me what i used.. i told her it was a secret formula,, well we had to wait till we got back to the truck to look at the pics... the first thing she said is it a bear, my heart sank knowing what it was at a glance, as you can see its no bear, she's never seen a wild hog before looks like he's going to try to take up residence ayt my mineral site, i going to give him another weekend of feeling at home than im going to go in and do my best to kill him
