  1. Nice Fly! I basically hunted all day today with only 5 sightings. Does and spikes. Pre rut should be getting cranked up here.
  2. Team 7 - Team Pile Driver Happy thanksgiving fellas! Saw 6 does yesterday evening and four this morning. Good luck to everyone hunting!
  3. Got the first pic as I was trying to get away from work at a quarter after five yesterday. After his first bow kill a week ago, and now this, I'm pretty sure he's 100% self sufficient minus a drivers license. 210# and 16.5".
  4. 2013 muzzleloader closer I can't find anything wrong with that buck William! Congrats!
  5. Best Deer Camp To Date! (Pic Heavy) That's awesome fly! Congrats to both your son and your father! Been there a few times with my lil bro.... Not much beats that feeling.
  6. Team 7 - Team Pile Driver Congrats wooly! Also congrats to your son and dad fly. I'll go check it out. I've been busy, and the only chances I got to hunt this weekend, I played it safe on stand choices because of the strong wind. Didn't want to booger stands up. Bucks have been on their feet recently with the cold weather. My big deer has been caught on trail cam a few times in daylight, and my little bro killed a good deer tonight. I'll probably post pics and a story tomorrow night after he gets some good pics in daylight tomorrow.
  7. Sure did. 178#. Our mature bucks are usually right around that. Very unusual for a buck this young to even weigh more than 150.
  8. Buck of a lifetime Awesome buck! Congrats to your cousin!
  9. how far is too far ?? I'd try a big deer out to 50, but I refuse to take a shot on a doe over 30. I get too many opportunities to risk a far shot on a doe.
  10. After 4 years of trying, my 12 year old brother was finally able to connect with his bow today. He had watched three small bucks while gun hunting yesterday, and asked for us to hang a stand on the trail they entered the plot on to bowhunt from this evening. His plan worked to perfection, as he arrowed this buck from 25 yards while working a scrape.
  11. arrow P.E. ? It's the angle your arrow is going into the target. It's dropping at that angle, creating a downward angle as it enters the target; therefore, it slides through the layers. That's my theory at least.
  12. Team 7 - Team Pile Driver That's a heck of a deer to pass Hoosier. Can't wait to see what your targets look like. I'd kill to be in the Midwest right now. Yes wooly it's really ridiculous. And to mark it even worse, it's actually an "honor system" so there are no tags. I've been kicking myself for shooting ever since I touched off on the release. I've passed up so many deer that size and better over the past several years, just had a weak moment yesterday. Don't expect me to upgrade until at least December guys. Don't see any prerut activity until then. Will probably try to gig another doe or two.
  13. Archery Success Thread 2013-2014 Shot this young 8 this morning. 25 yard shot. Deer made it about 30 yards before piling up.
  14. Team 7 - Team Pile Driver Stud (sarcasm) 8 from this morning. Passed a million this size but I was in a total killing mood this morning. I've got two more buck tags now.
  15. Me rage experiment is over! Grim reapers. Without hitting major bone you'll be able to reuse.
  16. Need some advice from my hunting brothers No... Heck no.
  17. Age and score this buck? I'm guessing him 136-138.
  18. Team 7 - Team Pile Driver Dang I like him fly! It's turned warm down here. Low in high 50s/high in low 80s. Haven't been since Sunday morning but thinking I'll go if we quit work on time today. Got the old stickbow in the backseat along with the hoyt, may try to play some string music with it.
  19. Archery Success Thread 2013-2014 Doe #1. Had 5 come across a loading zone. Shot this one at 20. She made it about 30 before piling up. First deer with the new spyder 34
  20. Team 7 - Team Pile Driver 5 does, 2 young bucks, 4 gobblers, and a coyote this morning. Only drew on the yote but he saw me and spooked.
  21. Team 7 - Team Pile Driver Forgot to mention that my buddy killed one of the targets on his place that I can hunt on as well. Here's his story if anyone is interested. 130" 8 frame with a kicker off his brow. http://bullnettlenews.com/forum/yaf_postst51000_First-Buck-down.aspx
  22. Team 7 - Team Pile Driver I've hunted the past two evenings. Yesterday the little block of woods I was in was flooded with deer at last light. Could make out figured at about 40 yards but that was it. This evening I saw a few does a couple hours before dark. Then could hear two deer making there way to me at last light. One ended up under me, and best I could tell had a 2 year old 8 point frame. Weather has been good, but is forecasted to turn even better this weekend. Will be at mississippi state/Kentucky game tomorrow evening and then will probably do fiancé duty Friday evening. Hopefully I'll put up some points this weekend. Good luck guys!
