    rain

Re: rain Where I hunt in Wisconsin I prefer sunny days. By me the Mallards go out to feed in the dry cornfields. If I hunt the marsh instead of the cornfields I have to wait for the Mallards to come back to the water. If it rains the ducks can get enough water to drink right in the field and they might stay out alot longer. If it is dry and sunny, they have to come to water to drink. Most of the time they are coming back to water a couple hours after legal shooting hours in the morning. If you are hunting a feeding area, the rain won't hurt you as bad, other than they may spot you easier because there are no shadows for you to hide in, and the sun isn't in their eyes. I know of a lot of people than enjoy hunting in the rain, maybe I'm just getting too old?!!

  22. Re: Texas Food Plot I'm not to sure on what to plant as I don't know what will grow down there. But, do you have water? We cut plastic 55 gallon barrels about 18" tall and keep them filled with water. Deer would rather drink stale pond water than running river water. You will be surprised how many deer will drink from them. We put out our trail cams by them and get some great pics. Good luck!!
  23. Re: Gamecam pics I think that first buck traveled to Wisconsin!! LOL The neighbor kid shot one almost identical to that one during our gun season!! Great pics!!

    build a house?

Re: build a house? I would have to build it. I also have worked construction and know all to well what you could run into having someone else build your house. Do it yourself and have the satisfaction of knowing that your blood and sweat went into it and it was all for your family and yourself. It will all be worth it in the end.
