Atta boy!! A huge congrats for a huge buck!!

will be here before we know it. Two weeks from this Saturday we'll be out in the stand waiting for a big buck to show himself. We will be hunting an Earn-a-buck Deer management unit which means he has to shoot a doe before he can shoot a buck. Well, tonight I was sitting in the stand just trying to get a peek of what is out there for him. I think I found the perfect "couple" for him... Here's daddy: And here's mommy and daddy:

I unfortunatley just went throught the same thing with my buddy. I'm guessing he hit high and clipped the opposite side lung. We jumped his buck 11 hours after the shot. Don't get out there too early and good luck!

Congrats on your first bowkill! Nothing to be ashamed of. If anybody in this place that has killed a number of deer says it hasn't happened to them, they're full of it. You said it yourself, it was a great learning experience and you learned a bunch from the experience, that's what matters. Again, congrats on getting the skunk off your back, they'll come a bit easier now...

with my truck... Been a rough week for my little truck. Friday I was heading out to the hunting land and I was at a stoplight waiting to take a left turn. The light turned green and I waited for the cars from the other direction to go so I could proceed and all of a sudden this semi runs the red light, T-bones the car coming towards me and spins her around into the front of my truck. Thankfully she wasn't hurt, her car on the other hand,.....scrap metal!! I need a new front bumper, air conditioning cooler, hood, and couple other things. Now we can add a new passenger side front door to the list...

Hunt the mornings, it's been warm here as well but my buddy saw a 150" 10 pointer this morning at 8:10 chasing a doe with a smaller buck! I think most of the movement is happening later at night and in the mornings. However last night I saw three buck, the biggest being a two year old TEN pointer.

That's a no brainer,............LAB!

I'm in Corrections and unfortunatley I have better job security than most people.... The benefits aren't bad either...
