Heres a few more things I thought of. - Wood ducks like acorns, if you find some oaks over hanging or on the edge of the water, good chance the woodies will be around. - Woodies fly early and late in the day. Not to say you wont ever see one at other times, but in general thats what they do. -A drake Mallard call can make a huge difference in making Mallards commit to the dekes...The classic 'quack' of a duck call is the sound of a hen. A drake call is not something the ducks here ALL the time. - And as far as wingshooting. Always aim for the head and keep your gun moving ( follow through). Wood ducks that are just passing through can make a guy feel pretty humble from time to time haha.

Wow....all the things to worry about with our situation in Iraq and Afghanistan...we (the military/govt) are concerning ourselves with this..??? So we dont 'offend' the people people who are using OUR guns to aid their cause.....you dont like it, find your own gun then!!!! I dont agree with trying to 'promote' a certain religion onto people or trying to 'convert' people.....but people should be more concerned about what is coming out the end of that rifle more so than whats written on the side. We are at war and worried about hurting peoples feelings...??

I think the ghosts that Tominator had living with him a few weeks ago moved in with me now. Last nite and now again today the volume on my reciever for the sound system changes by itself. Last nite it kept turning down, now today its going down and then back up...:ninja:

Yep I grill all year long too. I like to take the portable grill on the ice for the all day ice fishing trips too.....its amazing how good a cheese dog tastes after a few hours of staring down a hole and tippin back some cold ones..

They each have their place. I use box calls to locate birds, or when Im just sitting and calling hoping a bird will wander past, or when a bird is not close. Box calls tend to be on the loud side. Slate calls are my favorite for early mornings when the birds are just coming down from the roost, or when the bird is close. And I just always have a mouth call handy for when the bird is close and need both hands to shoot, but still may need to make a few calls.

It would be hard for me to pick a favorite, but heres 3 that I wont go in the woods without. -Knight and Hale Glass Hammer -Primos Power Crystal -Primos Box Cutter box call I have others too. Its good to have a variety of calls. Slate, glass, aluminum 'slate' style friction calls. A box call or two and a few mouth calls. You never know what that Tom wants to hear. Ive had a bird hang up, but I pick up a different call, and here he comes..... BTW Andy, I went to your link and those are sweet looking calls. Next time Im looking for call your gonna hearing from me...:yes:

Watched the Wings lose another heart breaker today.....came back from 2 down and lose in a shoot-out... They are bad this year..wow. Between the injuries and poor net minding, they may not make the playoffs.:jaw:...:bummed:
