    Care to take a guess??

Martin's second guess of 580.00 is real close! Walmart had it marked at $595.00. I couldn't find a 1080p 55 inch for that price let alone a 60 inch 4K. The cheapest I found (other than this) was a Best Buy open box set for $1,169.99 (almost double). Gotta be one of the best deals I have ever found. Martin - when you coming???? LOL

Yes, William - you get a second guess. It's a new TV - not refurbished. It was on display and did not come in a box. We now have 328, 450, 750, and 789. Still missing the mark by over 100. LOL

328, 699, 750 and 789: Good guesses - hint: no one is within 100 dollars yet.
  4. So my TV finally went out yesterday after 20 years of service. A giant and heavy 55 inch Hitachi Ultravision. I've been looking for a while trying to decide size, make, and features. Was going for a Samsung as I hear they are about the best value these days. Had looked at the 4K models and couldn't afford them. Probably was going to settle for a 55 inch 1080p LED Smart Samsung when I walked into Walmart today and saw this one on Clearance. It is a 60 inch 4K smart Samsung TV that had been on display. Take a guess as to what the clearance price was set at? The model number is UN60JU6500F if you want to look it up online first. RT member that guesses closest gets my respect and an invite to my house to watch the new Monster Bucks video (LOL). It's on a couple chairs currently, I still need to find a stand.

    2015 Buck

I've brought him a lot of my buddies as well. I've made a few car payments for him no doubt. LOL

    2015 Buck

This one scored 126 and change. He looks more like a 130 to me. Named this one Sir Lamorak. The form matches the other one I got back a few weeks ago except the opposite turn. They rest above my TV which I look at less than them.

    Sir Tristan

Thanks everyone. Glad to know I'm not the only one that names their deer. Here is my list of the "Knights" + Merlin and their Gross score. There is a reason behind each name but it's too much to go into here. Makes for great conversation combining the hunt with Arthurian history. As you can see I'm missing a 140 class knight and still on the lookout for King Arthur! 1. Sir Lancelot: 161 2. Sir Galahad: 171 3. Sir Gawain: 131 4. Sir Kay:131 5. Sir Gaheris: 120 6. Sir Percival: 136 7. Merlin: 152 8. Sir Tristan: 122 9. Sir Lamorak: 127 I also have a full mount Bear, Gobbler and Coyote. I love my house! My girlfriend... not so much. LOL

I name all my bucks after the knights of the round table (LOL). This 3.5 year old scored 122 2/8 and was shot during the 2014 season. Not sure where I'm going to put him yet. That "good" problem of not having enough room is upon me.
  9. Get another trophy pic for their website!
  10. Same here MUD - found it first on Facebook and thought it was pretty good.
  11. Happy Star Wars Day Realtree Forums!
  12. I have heard that some people drive around on high trucks "hunting". They stop the vehicle, stand up and shoot. Not my style but hey - if it's legal then so be it. There are also the high fence hunts - legal but not my style. I feel we as hunters get enough back lash from the anti-hunting community to point the finger at anyone abiding by the law. I guess the only real ethics violation I could see within the law would be wounding an animal on purpose to watch it suffer instead of trying to kill it cleanly. Same goes for letting an animal walk at 30 yards and then fire an arrow at 100 yards just to see if you could hit it. Legal, but not ethical.

    Morel Season!

Went out on the trails during my lunch break and found 11 yellows. A few were pretty big!

    Morel Season!

Going to look after the next rain! These warm temps should really help this week.

    Morel Season!

Found 10 more this AM, a couple greys but 8 medium sized yellows already coming up. Sauteed them with butter and poured over medium cooked ribeye!

    Morel Season!

Took the new / old girlfriend out morel hunting for her first time. She brought me some good luck - found 88 in an hour. Almost a year ago she said: "I don't mind if you hunt, but you're not getting me to go." Ha!
  17. Not sure about the higher end cameras as I don't like spending more than 200 dollars. I prefer a smaller camera to take the field with me. The Nikon S7000 is slim and has a 20X zoom with 16 megapixels. Easy to carry and doesn't take up much space. I add a small gorilla pod for self timer pics.
  18. I was surprised to see a couple small bucks not only sporting their racks but also going at it on February 29th (leap year).

    Huge Bummer!

So sorry Al. You all put a lot of time and effort in to get trophy bucks and then EHD takes out your years of management. EHD hit hard in mid-western IL and knocked out a lot of mature deer. It's been 3 years now and a lot of passing on does and little bucks so I'm hoping we see better numbers and bigger bucks this fall. I also hope for a lot of rain this summer.
  20. Al, post a pic of that mount if you can. That story gets my vote.
  21. Pretty cool video. Congratulations. I've shot 2 with my bow in the early season but never recovered. The snow sure helps with tracking.
  22. Littlest wtnhunt would get my vote. Since she's not in the contest my vote goes to her mom. Best story would go to Al for that story with the dog tracking.
  23. Tim (Mudrunner) gets my vote as well. The mass and main beams were impressive.
  24. I had a doe do the same thing this year William. Shot it with a shockwave out of my ML. The ground had a fresh white frost which would have made tracking in the blood easy. I walked her steps to a fence she jumped and hit. Hair all over the top barbwire section but not one drop of blood. I found her hidden under an evergreen while grid searching. The hole was visible but only a few drop coming out. I stuck my finger in the hole and the blood gushed out like a faucet. I figured that a piece of fat must have blocked the hole and kept all the blood on the inside. I almost gave up on her thinking it was a miss since there was no blood and I can never really tell about the hit with a ML because of the smoke. She ahd a fawn with her though and a few minutes after I shot her the fawn ran back to the field and right under my stand all alone. That is what made me think she was dead - and she was about 70 yards from where I hot her.
