DANG TREE RATS!!! I just scored this antler and it scored 57 1/8" with the chewed off points. If they were there the antler would of been over 60" with no brow tine.

Not sure what the heck happened but it seems like this site has died! Does anyone else see it that way like me?

Another day of dinks! I hope they start getting bigger! Here is todays walks finds!

After looking at my sheds today. I realized I found the right side to the buck I took pictures of earlier in the shed season. Here they are.
-
I decided to put them together anyhow, here is the buck and then his left side shed.
-
Well if you all remember I stated I wanted a left side of a bucks antlers well now I need to match it up! I got what I asked for. If you all dont remember or want to see the pictures again it is in this thread! Here is his left side and it is a dandy now just need the other to make it a match! I must of scared him enough to have him drop it. I followed blood all the way back to where I found the shed. LOL

Went for a walk today and found a nice shed but the dang tree rats got to it first! They even got to it fast. Still had blood on the base of the antler. GGGGRRRRRR

Went out today and found another small one. It was laying next to some leg bones. He must of not liked the smell of them and pulled his head up to fast. I was reading a thread about hanging skulls and I have never seen many so I hung up 5 of them today. LOL My daughters dog was checking out the antler and he picked it up. He took off in the garage with it and would not give it back. When I went to get it back he grumbled a little. Here are the pictures from today.

Well, I went for a short walk tonight and found two. The first one was on the edge of the creek and it was blocked by some grass. I about stepped on it before I saw it. LOL The second one I spotted from about 20 yards away along the edge of a log. You can see where the buck was rubbing his antlers trying to knock it off. That was really cool to see that.

I went out in the rain today and ended up with some great sights of a few big boys with full racks. I also found a broken off tine and one shed. It was raining really good so I did not take out the camera for much!

Yesterday I worked 16 hours and had another double shirt 8 hours later. We had a nice rain again so I went for a 2 hour walk before I went to bed. I ended up getting these pictures and one more Dink! It is a week of Dinks for me but a shed is a blessing to me no matter what size. I like them all! I have now got a some what closer look at the big fellas antlers. I now really like the left side more due to the little non typical point off the bottom of the beam. I also hope to get better pictures before he sheds too I hope. I am heading out in the morning in hopes to get some great pics of him shedding them off in front of my eyes. Oh crap now I am dreaming! LOL Hope to get them soon. I do have other competition that knows he is in that area.

It was funny today! I went for a walk and found two more sheds, walked in on two dogs eating a dead doe, and the funny part, the guy who trespasses on the property that was told to stay off was parked by my truck and was filming me with his phone then stated "Have a nice day!" What he is going to prove I dont know but it was funny! He is the same one that tried to trick us into walking on his property to get a shed that was in front of his trail cam if you all remember from last year. I guess he is still salty that we got him served with a letter to stay off the property or he will be charged with trespassing. LOL Here is pictures from today!

Todays walk ended up with two shed and finally a photo that turned out to be one of my favorites of all time. Now for the photos that are now my favorites! I have never got a good owl picture until NOW!
-
I am guessing of course on the width but I say close to 28 or more!

Ok here is the history story that I have with my wide fella! In 2011 I was walking looking for any sheds that I could find and I stumbled on a very nice right side antler. It had some snow on it and was laying tines up. It had 6 total points and was a very nice one in my book. I then looked really hard for the other side for a week with no luck! I then ended up finding the match almost a month later. Then in 2012 I ended up seeing this fella and got some great pictures of him. I never did find his sheds that year. Then this year rolls around. I went out early to see if I can get pictures of some deer with antlers. While getting ready to sit one day I stumbled on the left side of the wide fella and it was early! Once again I searched all over for it with no luck. I then found the match about 500 yards from where I found the first one and 20 days later. With two full sets from this buck it would be really cool to add him to my wall of fame with the sheds. We will have to see if we could cross paths. Here are the pictures of him and his sheds.

Well, work has been a little stressful the past week so I went out for another walk to ease the stress. We have had a bad assault on a friend of mine and he is an officer at the prison. I pray for his recovery and get him back to work soon. Here is a good stress reliever just like the two sheds yesterday. My 2013 finds as of right now with many more to come I hope.

Found 2 today in the rain! Rain has always treated me well and that continued!
-
Went for a short walk yesterday after work and I struck pay dirt and matched up my other shed. Here is the set with the same deers set from 2011! Also a picture of the buck himself again. Now the bad side to this story is the pictures that I took for ATL are not saved on my memory card for some reason. I did take one with my iphone.

Went for my first walk on the first for about 1 1/2 hours and did not find anything. I will be back out this weekend and will be checking my trail cams too. We will see. I want to also wish you all a happy hunting and lets see them pictures on your team threads for the contest and on here as your own thread. Hope to see many from all of you. Good luck from the DAWG! Here is a picture I took the other day of a Hawk staying out of the wind. It is not focused all the way in and I wish it was but he was looking to get out of there so had to take it fast. On my second walk of the year I hit pay dirt! I found a nice 9 point dead buck, a buck with his head cut off, and my first shed from a very familiar buck! Here they are: I just happened to look up to find this very old tree stand that is getting swallowed from the tree growth! Bucks still packing! A squirrel that ran from me decided to get back in his hole and peak out at me. The buck with his head cut off! Trespassers that would be called since it was at the back of the property. Now todays finds with the picture of the buck that owns the antlers. I do have a match set from him in 2011. I did not find his 2012 sheds. Ok here is the story on this buck that I found the shed of today 1-6-13: Right Side 73 7/8" gross found 1-22-11! Left Side 62 2/8" gross found 2-19-11! 2011 Full Set! Pictures of the buck in 2012 and I did not find his sheds that year! Left Side 71 4/8" gross found 1-6-2013! The two left sides! With a two year difference the score from the 2011 shed was 62 2/8" and the 2013 shed was 71 4/8" Here is another dead head I found yesterday Jan. 12th! The score of my first shed this year is: MB = 27 6/8 G1 = 4 1/8 G2 = 9 1/8 G3 = 9 5/8 G4 = 2 3/8 C1 = 5 4/8 C2 = 4 4/8 C3 = 4 2/8 C4 = 4 2/8 Total = 71 4/8 Here will show some of the size of the antler. The base is up against my chest! Yesterday Jan 19th's walk ended with some great pictures and a set of chewed up tennis shoes. LOL Here is the days pictures!

I live in Central Illinois "Pontiac" and have found one so far. Most are still packing and I like to start early so I can get pictures too. I have a thread going of my shed hunting and you can see all that I have taken and found through out the year as it goes a long.
