Found 1-6-13!

On my second walk of the year I hit pay dirt! I found a nice 9 point dead buck, a buck with his head cut off, and my first shed from a very familiar buck! Here they are: I just happened to look up to find this very old tree stand that is getting swallowed from the tree growth! Bucks still packing! A squirrel that ran from me decided to get back in his hole and peak out at me. The buck with his head cut off! Trespassers that would be called since it was at the back of the property. Now todays finds with the picture of the buck that owns the antlers. I do have a match set from him in 2011. I did not find his 2012 sheds.

Matt! He just text me back and said payment received and will be shipped out Monday! Thanks again buddy! I have been working at least 4-5 double shifts every week. My old body not used to doing it so I fall out fast when I relax after I get home.

I am not that type of guy just been working doubles and trying to find out if my buddy got it. I will text him again.

Here is a buck that I got on trail camera but can not tell if he broke it off or shed it off already! Buddy found a shed already in Central Illinois but it was off a buck that was wounded this year.

Stone..with the downturn in our deer herd with the wolves here...it's a waste of time to go shed hunting, other than the excersise from the walking A nice day in the woods regardless of what goes on is a better day than work. I like to even just take the camera and go for a walk. You never know what you will find or see. There has been MANY hours that I have put in the woods and not found a dang thing. I walk at least 8 hours through the Mon-Fri and then 12-20 on the weekends during shed season. I am going to keep track of my hours this year just to see how many I put in.

I agree but I will say that I have been passing shed thoughts in my head. I still have three tags to fill with one being either sex tag then two doe tags.

I have been shed hunting since 1998 and this is the first shed I found! What a way to get started with the love of shed hunting!

The one with the Big kicker of G2 was 76 and some change.

I am not sure who has the Voo Doo Doll that is wishing all these bad things to happen to me while hunting, but you need to STOP! Ok here is todays story! I had two does come in right at shooting light. I drew back on one of the does when she was at 15 yards. Next thing I know my arrow is falling off my bow. I did not know what was going on. I looked at my bow and here is the knock on my string and the arrow gone. I somehow pulled the knock out of my arrow. I then sat the rest of the day seeing nothing. Then I lowered my bow to get down and the next thing I know I hear blowing by a whitetail deer. Here was an 8 point buck watching me undo my safety harness. Off he went after that. Who ever I made mad I am SORRY!

Here is my nieces road kill buck when I dropped it off to the taxidermist. My dad and I are getting it mounted for her since she was wanting it on the wall.

No fear though! I still have plenty of time to down a few with bow yet. Still looking to upgrade my buck. I have a new visitor in the area and I think I like him. He is a very nice 8 pointer. Here are some recent pictures.

I shot a doe with my shotgun but failed to take picture with me in it.

I am in Central Illinois and this fella did not leave this HOTTIE all day long in the pasture. I sat in stand all day waiting on this fella to come by but no go. He was only 400 yards away from my stand and he stayed there in the pasture.

All I have to say is that this fella better dodge the shot gun hunters this weekend Friday to Sunday. I wont be back out until Thanksgiving weekend. I am saying my prayers and crossing my fingers!

Went out today to see my 11 point buck in my truck only 10 yards off the road. I sat in the stand for a long time to only see two button bucks. Then on the way out I saw my 11 pointer again and he only moved 50 feet. He is with a hot doe and did not want to leave her at all. I would of tried a sneak but he was on a different owned property so I did not do it. I think I could of got him if I did. Here are a few pictures of the big fella.
