  1. I own over 70 rifles and have been hunting for 38 years. I guarantee the Remington Model 7 youth model in 260 Rem. is the absolute best rifle for women that are just starting to hunt.

  6. There is a 28 acre wood lot that is no hunting allowed where I work. The deer are as thick as fleas in there and you can drive right up to them and almost pet them. They know when they are safe.
  7. Make sure he is not licking it or biting at the scab. If he does you might have to put him in an E collar and a boot.

  10. I live on Main st. Pretty plain. But just around the corner is Watertown St. Sounds like a great place to go fishing. A few miles outside of my old home town was Remington Place. I always felt very comfortable there. My Brother in Law lives on Partridge Lane.

  13. You should have bought a Remington 700, The Ruger is a great rifle too. I'm sure you will love it. 270 is THE best hunting caliber. Can't go wrong there.
  14. I use a product called a Past recoil sheild. It is a pad that staps onto your shoulder. It makes even the biggest magnums manage able. Best of all it is easy to use and doesn't get in the way.
  15. If I could only use one accesory it would be Gum o flage. It is suppose to mask the sent coming out of your mouth. Since I have been using it, I am seeing at least four times as many deer as I did before. And before anyone says anything. No I don't have bad breath.
  16. 21 I think. But I've passed on at least four times that many so they could grow bigger.

  20. I'm finally no longer a fawn. I hate to complain, or brag for that matter,:gunsmilie: but a guy of my age and with my experience found is very disconserting to be refered to as a Fawn.
  21. I hear ya Casey, It seems common courtesy is in short supply these days. I'm glad to hear there are still people like you out there. Don't ever change.
  22. When I was in the Boy Scouts we had a woodcraft card we had to carry. Anytime you had an accident with a knife or axe you would get a coener cut off the card. If you lost all four corners you were not allowed to handle a knife or an axe for six months. You my friend have lost a corner. By the way, why was your leg postioned so that a ricocheting axe could hit it. This is some thing you should always consider.
  23. Welcome back slug gunner for a fellow Wisconsinite. There is no need it give up hunting just becuse your eight acre patch has been invaded. Take out a Wisconsin road map and look at the northern part of the state. You will see lots of green. That green stuff is tens of thousands of acres of public land. I assure you with a little work you can find a place where you can wander for hours unmolested for hours.
