Get back to my Iraq weight of about 230 so 40 pounds to go.... Shoot a 140 inch whitetail, and shoot an elk.

Hey guys, I am looking for a replacement stock for my savage 111 7mm Rem. and also a replacement barrel, looking it lighter so my brother can take it elk hunting this fall, it currently has wood stock with factory barrel.. any help.

I didn't even think the recoil of the 375 H n H was bad it was very manageable. I know the whole deal about the finger turrets and everything. Have shot a few deer past 500 with my 7mm rem wouldn't be scared to shoot an elk that far with it either but heck why not shoot a bigger louder gun.

The 243 for a kid that young would be good, also look at the 260 Rem, not much kick but more frontal area on the bullet.
