  1. I just bought a T/C Triumph Bone Collector edition this weekend and I'm in the process of getting a scope for it. Anyone have the Nikon Omega with the BDC scope or have any other suggestions for a good quality scope?
  2. I use the 3 blades as well, they've never let me down. Congrats
  3. That's a nice looking deer. Congrats
  4. 29 here this morning; kind of wishing I would have taken opening day off now. It's usually still pretty warm this time of the year so I thought I would save my vacation days until the end of October. Now looking out the window at all the frost on the ground I'm wishing I was in my treestand.
  5. Nothing to be ashamed of there. I'd have a tuff time passing him up. Congrats
  6. Too hard to tell with that picture. Looks like a nice deer though. Judging by the body size he doesn't look very old.
  7. I've had tiny little twigs I never saw until after the shot throw my arrow way off. My thought is that if there are any obstructions between you and the deer then hold off on the shot. It's not worth the risk; I'd rather pass and hope I'll get another chance than end up with a wounded deer.
  8. Season opens Thursday here in Michigan; they are calling for a low of 34 in the morning and a high of 60 by the afternoon. Should be a great opener.
  9. Nice deer! Looks like a perfect shot as well. Congrats
  10. I've got the same problem; after I nock an arrow I have to twist it just a little in order to get it lined up right at full draw. I didn't like it a first but after getting use to it I now do it out of habit before every shot.
  11. I look over the arrows close and if there doesn't appear to be any problems I will use them again. I always shoot them at the target a few times to be sure nothing is wrong and they fly straight. I never reuse broadheads, one shot with them and they get tossed.
  12. I think close to 130; field dress 175-185
  13. We have two separate chicory plots separated by a clover plot in between them; one of our chicory plots gets hammered and the other is almost untouched. It's been this way all summer, not sure why. The one that they don't use much will get to at least 12" tall. We try to keep both of them mowed to around 6".
  14. I hear ya; I've been watching a nice 10 all summer long. Just checked my camera last weekend and he broke his main beam just past the G3.

    Sight Pin

I personally like 3 pins; I'd rather put the pin where I want to hit and not have to adjust high or low depending on the distance to the animal. I've tried 5 pins before but it was too cluttered for me. If most of you're shots are within 20 yards then one pin would be fine. Use whichever one you are most comfortable with.
  16. Nice deer, that picture turned out awesome.

    LOL Funny Pic

Won't be long before momma gives him the boot and sends him on his own
  18. They put her on Lyrica; which has helped a lot. It hasn't completely relieved the pain but it's made it tolerable for her. I would recommend seeing several doctors; if one doesn't seem too willing to help or look into it keep going to others. It took her a few years and several rheumatologists until they finally diagonsed it. Good Luck
  19. I would guess 120 max; probably closer to 115.
  20. I was going to say the same thing; my wife had similar symptons and eventually they discovered it was FibroMyalgia; they put her on the right meds and she's much better.
  21. Here is another one of a 3 legged doe.
  22. Here are a few pics from the last few weeks: This is the first time I've seen this deer. Here's the nice 10 out of velvet Proof that food plots help. Some turkeys dusting themselves in the chicory. If you look close you'll notice two babies with this hen
  23. I like the hang on stands; I get them setup and clear lanes well ahead of season. Then all I have to do is climb up the steps and I ready to hunt. I would think that the climbers would be a chore lugging them around in the woods everytime you go out. I like to slip into my stand being as quiet as possible. It would be too noisy putting up a climber in the morning.
