  1. No doubt it improves the look of a truck if done right. Matter of fact you can't tell one from the other at a casual glance. My thoughts are why look like you are ready to get in some mud when you really can't? You're stuck, then some old man comes creeping around you in a Subaru Brat and your woman leaves you and rides off with him. Bad way to go out. Take your ride and the cash you were going to invest and get a good used 4x4 that has already been lifted.
  2. Haha, yeah I know. Will take more than that though, my wife is spoiled!
  3. My lab and another dog jumped on the neighbor's chihuahua Saturday. I had to pay her 193 bucks for the vet to put the dog down. I would have gladly killed her dog and spared her the expense. They are both back in the back yard and elect fence is on again. They just get into a frenzy when the kids are on the four wheeler.
  4. Got mama taken care of? Still got to get things for the wife and mama too. Seems they all have the things they really need, gets to be more challenging coming up with some ideas. Got this put on canvas for the wife, it was just a phone pic, but turned out pretty decent. I just liked the shot, they rarely smile simultaneously lol. My wife should just wake up Sunday and look at me and realize her day is special enough without extra attention. :clown:
  5. Yeah I do too, but I'm too old to start from the bottom with the physical stuff. Wife's cousin has done really well as a mud engineer/consultant, friends have done well doing electrical work, several specialty jobs there worth considering.
  6. Also Shaun, GMT900 is supposed to be around till about 2013 but only as a work truck series.... or at least from what I'm hearing, everything else is going to be called something, who knows what, but internally they are calling it K2XX. Maybe the X's will be replaced by numbers on the new platforms, who knows. Even the 3/4 ton is going EPS pretty quickly.

Well put Dan! There's always a trade-off no matter what you choose, cant get the best of everything. If you are looking at mechanicals (which it seems like you are) take a look at these when you go shopping: Edge - Broadhead - Trophy Taker Nifty features I like that fixes some of my dislikes with the Rage. I have not tried them yet, not even suggesting I am going to or that you should, but I think it looks good in theory anyway, I may pick some up this fall.
  8. No doubt Ford is doing it right. Great looking ride Kyle!
  9. None here either. It's coming though, too much gas coming into the market and that's going to be a good thing for all of us.

Want thrilled with rage either, you'll find endless opinions on this subject.
  11. Kyle I've thought about doing like a couple of my friends are doing and working as electricians servicing land rigs, not that I'm ready at this point for that, but definitely good long term outlook and good paying jobs. Anthony our business model is screwy. My uncle actually owns the company, we've been a dedicated GM supplier since the mid 80's, and honestly I don't know if I would risk money in it even if it was for sale and I had the funds. The steering business is really going through lots of changes right now. Shaun the 2012 models are going to phase in EPS next spring and go through the entire half ton line-up with Escalades finishing up by next fall. Avalanche is being axed from what I hear. Test equipment to build and test gear boxes, rack and pinions, and pumps can range from 10-30k and are flexible to do many models, test equipment for EPS products can run well over 100k for only one platform and there's still no guarantee you are producing a good product unless the mfg is giving you some of their proprietary info on their algorithms in the car. In other words the crap is over my head lol. Corey you're a smart guy, I'm gonna give that some thought.
  12. That would be a great job for me, though I doubt the pay would keep up with my wife's spending habits. Besides I don't think my age would let me work there, still a few years too young.
  13. Automotive manufacturing has been good to me the last 15 years, but I see trouble ahead for our little company. Vehicles are fast becoming equipped with electric power steering, leaving our little hydraulic-based business behind and I don't think my 70 y/o boss is up to the challenge of making the transition. Chevy 1/2 ton platform phases into electric steering next year with the K2XX platform and that will just about drive the last nail in our coffin.
  14. So you did learn something - Good! :bat:
  15. The real question is how do you get a DUI on a 4-wheeler? I mean were there no woods to get into? :48:
  16. Soft bow cases are a bad idea.
  17. Remember they'll pull a sober man's license when you're clocked over a certain speed also lol.
  18. Good deal Shaun, been guilty of such stupidity myself, as I'm sure many of us have been at some point in life. Congrats on the new status!
  19. Thank you Anthony. PS- The acorn didn't make it, maybe next time, not sure swamp white oaks are cut out for this area anyway.
  20. I'm with Shaun, lifting a 2wd is like taking your cousin to the prom.
  21. I couldn't believe I was sprayed 3 times.
  22. Just leave it up to you canucks to screw up cheese fries! Never met a tater I did not like, will have to try that one next time I'm up north. Had some homemade subs last night. Not much time after band concert then church. Picked up some cube steaks yesterday. Don't do them often but these looked good and I thought about good ole mashed potatoes and gravy and country fried steak. Can't beat the classics! :eat:
  23. For what it's worth, the **** was supposed to be a "he'll", not "****" Sometimes apostrophes can be useful. :chair:
  24. You can also just kick them. I did that once.......once.
