Here's my blind I made, Only thing the theif could still if he wanted would be my milk crate seat..haha The leaves should be brown by season and if alot fall off I'll just cut down a few more limbs and had to it.

If we had hogs here I would deffiantly have considerd that, but no wild pigs up my way.

Here's the pics Okie, here's the top cam Bottom Cam

Okay will do Okie, I'll try and get pics today. And also my PSE came with another set of cam things but I know nothing about them.

TC ProHunter encore Bushnell Banner 3-9x40 muzzleloading scope with circle-x reticle with Butler Creek scope covers. TC 200 Grain Shockwave bullets with sabot 2 pellets(100 grain) of Hodgons Pyrodex powder It took a 4-point out to around 180 yard. I feel every confident on 200 yard shots with this gun.

Okay I've measured everything over and over and my arrows keep coming out 25 inches, draw length seems to be 29. You can see how close the end of the arrow is to the WB. Hard to see but you can kinda see the little silver insert.

If I had a trail cam I would be able to hang it high since my brother and dad is a lineman. My brother taught me how to use his climbing equipment and I could prolly spike up a tree set up a camera and back down. But like I said I'd need a trail cam 1st..lol

What kind of peeps does everybody here have on their bow and how do you like them? I have one with the band thing that attaches from my string to the cable part and pulls it into position when I draw back but I don't really like it. It shoots good but I'm having trouble keeping the band from dry rotting and tearing on the actual "peep" part.

You are exactly right, I never thought of that. Thanks again!

A couple other people mentioned that I'd bet he probally was. Here's how I think it happend... He put the minerals in the place so he could hunt off of it for only himself and nobody else could benefit. One day while visiting the site he noticed mine and my brothers stands and got P'd off. He wanted all the deer to himself(If it's the guy I'm thinking of he gets jealouse easy if he doesn't get the big deer) So he took down his stand to make it look like his got stolen and then went and got ours to make it seem as if a theif had a good night. I talked to this guy a couple months ago he won't tell me who he thinks stole it so I'm thinking it's him.

Thanks Doc for that info! Wish I had a trail cam I could find out pretty fast when the deer are visiting the place.

If I hunt here I'll prolly just make a few ground brush blinds, They can steal all the sticks and limbs they want, and they can even take my milk crate I sit on..haha

I was doing some scouting today in an area that me and my brother used to hunt alot before some sorry SOB's came in and stole our 2 stands we had up at the edge of a field. After that we quit hunting back there for the rest of the season. Now I don't know what this is but I'm guessing it's a "wet-weather spring" I'm fairly certain it's not a salt/mineral site, atleats not a man made one, any opinions? Whatever it is though the deer seem to like drinking from it rather than doing the 150 yard walk down a near vertical ridge side to get to a small stream. There are trails coming from everywhere to this thing and keep on going down another trail, the number of tracks and size of them are amazing around this thing. This to me seems like it would be a good set up but no trees are good enough for a climber and I defiantly aint taking chances with a hang on back here anymore since of theives so my only option would be a brush blind 20-30 yards away IF I hunt it with a bow and longer if with a rifle, OR would you believe I would have better success setting up on the main trails? Here's some pics to possibley help with descisions but any and all replies would be apprectaited. (one of the main trails leading to it) (A topo map of the area, the red dot is that water thing and the blue lines are deer trails) Thanks, Luke

Wanted to see all of realtree's camo patterns and I saw there was a forum so here I am today.

It just depends on where I'm at. Last year the white oaks on the ridges near here were loaded with acorns, but some of the other white oaks near the pasture ground I hunt were bare. This year I believe it'll be same from how it looks, ridges full of acorns and pastures bare of them.

Is there a possibility that it was shipped from PSE pre-set on the 29 inches and then they changed it? I got it for my 13th birthday and I'm now 15. When I walked into the bow shop the guy had me draw it back and when I was my full draw the guy said okay perfect and my dad paid the man and we left. They might have changed it guessing I wouldn't do good with the full 29inch. draw. When I reach my "break" it feels just to short for me and makes me have to lean into it. I prolly need to take it to a bow shop and have them see what they think since they would be able to actually see what I'm doing. Thanks so far for the help ya'll.

Ohh, I have no idea now..lol I'm shooting a PSE Nova SU if that might matter any? After you draw it back and it kinda "locks" with the cams to where it's easy to hold because of the let off. Then you can draw it back about 2 inches more, which is what I do because it fits me alot better and I can shoot better like that.

WOW, he's a brute! Love that drop tine on him!
-
Not sure about the pros and cons but like Ethan said, I'd much rather just replace the loop thing than a whole bow string from getting wore out.
-
I measured from the front of my "shelf" to my string where my D-loop is tied. came out near 29. And yeh your right, the tip of my arrow(with nothing on it) sticks out around 1/2-3/4 which is what I wan't I guess?
-
Okay, thanks. Some bowhunting sight I read on said "when getting arrows it's best to be safe and get them around 2inches longer than your draw length." That's what had me thinking.
-
I bought my bow pre-set with everything and it's draw length says it's set on 29 inches. It fits me great whatever the length is though. I'm not sure if it's true though, I have fairly long arms but I measured one of my arrows and it came out 25-25 1/4 inches. I always thought your arrows were supposed to be longer than your draw length? I shoot with a whisker biscuit and release, not fingers. Is there a way I can measure the draw length on my bow to see if it's true? BTW- I held the end of a tape measurer in my hand and "drawed" it back and marked on it on where I usually hold with my bow at full draw and it came out 29 inches. I know nothing about technical stuff with bows so please forgive these rookie questions..haha Thanks, Luke

Here's a pic of last years big 14 from back in '06 down below my house(one on the right). He knows exactly when season starts. Not sure on age but he's a very old one.
-
There's a few biggens around here that we've seen every year. Just not at the right time of year. haha Last year he was a GIANT 14, Not sure what he'll be this year. Also last year I seen a very symetrical 10 with really tall tines. And last year I got a glimpse of this one during season driving home, he was in a field next to the house, it was a very nice 8. I havent seen but 3 bucks so far this year and all have been small except for a "decent" 6 I would probally let him walk he just doesn't have much on width or tine heigth. As far as I'm aware of nobody talk about killing any big ones around here so hopefully disease or a vehicle didn't get em.

Was driving to the top of the ridge and happend to look down in a field that I hunt and there was 2 does out picking. I was 250 yards away and the 2 does were 25 yards from my stand. Now it only needs to bow season and a big bucks needs to fill the spot of one of them does..haha I took a couple pictures through my bino's. Pictures came out a little blurry,Sorry I was in a hurry taking pictures and I didn't let it focus good enough.
