  1. I use the scented detergents and drier sheets. No they don't leave a scent. Yes they leave a beautiful scent on the clothes
  2. Listen to what everybody says. Take nothing as gospel. Go hunting with someone who has been and learn where to start. Hunting is like other things in a mans life: There is no right way to do it, you gotta find your own rhythm and style
  3. if its raining or gonna rain or you think you heard it fall definitely go after it. Slowly while scanning ahead obviously. Otherwise, I go back to the shack, get another person, get a bite, then head out. Unless its a bad hit. Then leave it overnight
  4. I don't like em either, but theres nothing else on
  5. There are several products out there like a spray that is mostly rotten egg smelling liquid. There is the tape you can put up (save a plot I think). Only problem is, if it rains the liquid can wash off in 2-3 weeks. So unless you live relatively close to the plot it may not be an option.
  6. they go to pear trees just like apple trees
  7. Sad thing but there should be a common sense law.
  8. I think youre nuts to want to make hunting your job. Although there is alot of average at best hunting shows out there. It would be nice to see someone who wasn't put in a stand by an outfitter where the 147" deer walks down said trail at 4:47pm everyday.
  9. $64.25? That is cheap... you should get a couple thousand gallons.
  10. No matter what happens, you keep your head up and keep shooting.
  11. I tried em all and get a new one every year. Some are better than others, but I dont think any of them are great.
  12. 49ers titans jets falcons steelers raiders eagles cowboys colts ravens under
  13. Thats cool...if you like huge antlers ha ha
  14. Thats the problem with hunting caribou... all that money and you never know. Makes me nervous, even though I want to go myself. lol
  15. Matthews reezen. maxima shafts. Trying the 2 blade rages this year... haven't seen them "perform" yet. Hoping to change that this weekend.
  16. I was hunting this weekend in northern mn. We stopped by a neighbors that has a big hunting party that spreads out and hunts a bunch of public land. A young girl,12, hunted for the first time on saturday. Her and her dad went out together. Sat night, with a 308 single shot rifle, she takes down her first deer. A 220 pound main frame 8 pt, with a split g2 and split brow tine to make it a ten pointer. She had about twenty people taking pictures of her and congratulating her for a half hour. The smile on her face was HUGE! I am really glad I got a first hand reminder of what hunting is all about. Family, friends, and huge smiles.
  17. I hunt in big ravine country. Grab another guy or get in shape and bring water when you go hunting
  18. If youre in a place with a ton of crispy leaves, walk in half hour earlier. When you walk in, only walk twenty yards at a time and then stop for a minute. Makes you sound not so much like a human.
