1. Wow those are both 2 amazing bucks. It looks like you'll have a very good season!
2. Thanks! It was my first time hunting in PA. Just moved here from Michigan and it was a memorable first hunt. I think I'm going to have to buy a bear tag this year as well.
3. Congrats awesome before and after pics I think you've got a life long hunting partner!!!
4. Wow thats crazy. Makes me nervous hunting public land you never know who who's out there. I always try to walk in and out with a flashlight. I don't know how you could mistake a human for a turkey if he could see well enough to hit his target with his bow he should have been able to tell it wasn't a turkey . . .
5. Yeah it was interesting there was never a dull moment. I'm just glad some people you run into aren't so friendly. I've had bad experiences in the past where the next time I went to climb in my treestand it was missing they cut the lock. There are some decent people out there on public land. We were the only 2 vehicles in the area that I could see it just so happend we ended up about 40 yds apart haha.
6. So this morning I got in my stand nice and quiet didn't make a sound. After sitting a half hour a doe came in stopped 20 yds from me then THWACK but i didn't shoot! There was a hunter sitting 40 yds from my stand on the ground he entered from a different direction. I watched the arrow go about a foot over her back and smoked a tree. He didn't know I was there yet. The doe jumped and ran I stopped her about 20 yds then THWACK but my arrow hit it's mark. I got down and we talked he didn't know I had a stand set up and he offered to move. This went way better than I thought it would. I thought we would get into an arguement over who was going to hunt there. It worked out he helped me track the deer. This evening I climbed into the same stand and about a half hour this came walking in 5 yds from my tree. I'm only 5'7' 155lbs and this bear was well over twice my size. Interesting day to say the least. Sorry the pic's are blurry I took it from my phone 20ft up in a tree.
7. Got out a little later than I would have liked this a.m. It was just the time of morning when I could walk in without a headlamp. Climbed in nice and quiet. 20 min went buy and a doe came walking down the trail. I didn't plan on shooting her, but aparently the guy that parked himself on the ground 40yds from me decided he'd launch a cross bow bolt at her and I saw his luminock go about a foot and a half over her back. Needless to say he cut off all the deer coming my direction all morning. Got to love public land. He was walking around looking for his arrow I climbed down and helped him find it. It was only 10yds from my tree. We talked he said he wouldn't hunt there anymore he had a few other spots. All in all it went better than I anticipated. I was just bummed out he scared some deer including a buck heading toward my stand he went in blind this a.m. for the PA opener and was sitting right on a big trail. Interesting morning to say the least.
8. It's YOUR land YOUR honey hole. I'd sit right in it and wait for the violator to show his face.
9. Counting down the hours . . . Good luck fellas and ladies, Just moved to PA in August and Im looking forward to putting my first PA deer down. Everyone I've talked to in Michigan where I came from said lots of deer movement and been seeing lots of bucks hoping for the same results in the a.m!
10. I've had the same thing happen man . . . It sucks the next time I walked to my stand it was missing the bolt was cut. I hope that doesn't happen to you.
11. Nice way to go. Thats a wicked entrance hole what you got tipped on those gold tips?
12. If thats a real pic, he's well over 140 with that width and height
13. Just moved from Michigan to PA. I wish I was in Michigan Oct. 1st morning. . . . .
14. If you have a friend or relative that has a back hoe they are very helpful in raising the blind if you build it first then you can raise it onto the frame.
15. Thanks for the info guys, I'm not too worried there were both fresh bear tracks and lots of fresh deer tracks in the field. So we'll see hopefully I will be posting a pic of a nice buck soon as well as a bear come november!
16. Haven't used cmere deer much, but have seen results with acorn rage.
17. Or you could cut some of that brush out of the field edge and toss a pop up blind in there.
18. Hung one last stand today before the opener this Saturday. I found 4 piles of scat within 50yds of my stands . . . Hopefully this doesn't screw up my deer hunting. Those stands might double as bear stands this yr as well I'm definetly going to be buying an archery bear tag.
19. Nice deer way to unleash the RAGE!!! haha
20. PAarcher

Rage 2-blades

I've shot a few with the two and three blade they both are devestating!!! I shot a buck quartering away and with the read deploying blades it opened up a hole soooo big I could stick my whole hand in the entry hole!!! I think I'm going to stick with the RAGE for a while!
21. Good pic's so good I could see the little bulls eye right behind his shoulder
22. New farm looks good. Just a quick question do you like your hand meat grinder better than an electric? I used an electric last season and wasn't too impressed. Was thinking about trying to find a hand grinder.
23. Thanks for the info guys. I live in State College (Centre Co.)
24. After hearing that I'm going to have to pick up a spare as well just in case!
25. I still shoot my PSE "Durango" that I bought in 2000 or 2001 It was the bow all the Team Primos members shoot at the time. I was younger and thought it was the "Coolest" thing out haha. It shoots true and has never let me down. It's not the fastest compared to the new bows. For a while I didn't here much from PSE they haden't made any real innovation or upgrades as far as I was concerned. But recently they have been putting out some new bows that have me interested. You start to here the brand more now that Drury Outdoors picked them up as a sponser.
