  1. I shoot at it both I either shoot at it on the ground right under my 3-D target. Or I've set it on a stump in the back yard. For the most part on the ground though. I'm not sure if I would purchase something to place it on. I can live with shooting at the block on the ground before purchasing something else I don't really need. . . haha
  2. Fished it a few times I'm from MI fished the Betsy, Big man and Little man (Manistee) more so than the PM
  3. Just moved to PA and after putting my tag on a buck this yr I'm looking for some good spots to chase some Musky! I've done some research online, but was wondering if anyone would share some Info with me
  4. If an old smart doe busts you once. They don't forget I had the same doe everynight when she would come in look stright at me at about 40 yds and start stomping her foot. Moved the stand over a few trees and she walked right by and I didn't have that problem anymore haha
  5. I'm sure some of you do this, but if you haven't herd of it give it a try. I process my own game. When I am grinding up my venison for burger meat in either a hand or electric grinder I mix in some BACON! Gives it both the added fat so the burger isn't dry as well as adds that amazing bacon flavor.
  6. The only think I can do is shake my head to that comment. I love the people that look down on us and say "you shouldn't kill animals" while they are eating their steak . . .
  7. I should have made the Post top 3 or top 5 hunting shows. There are to many good ones out there.
  8. Congrats man! I'm in the same boat as for now she films but we are looking at a Mathews Passion. Next hunting season could get real expensive in the end haha
  9. Like previous posts, It's all in your form. The angle unless steep doesn't affect distance that much. It never hurts to practice from your stand and work out all the kinks! A little practice and that next arrow will hit it's mark in the woods. Good luck man

Me and my buddies from Michigan call those big ol does "Swamp Donkeys" WTG!
  11. Never really had any luck calling in the early season, if you see a buck that isn't heading your direction maybe a light grunt or two if he's heading your way I would just let him come. I wouldn't try much more than that. Good luck with the PA season this will be my first one, just moved here from Michigan.
  12. Nice looking she looks hungry, let her eat!
  13. Yes to Arrows if they don't have any cracks in them. I also re-use broadheads just toss on a fresh set of blades or re-sharpen and then they are ready for round 2 or 3 or 4 haha
  14. And can't forget Bone Collector
  15. That a boy! I'm a fan of the Nuge as well. Living in Michigan for 23 yrs, I've got to hunt a mystical swamp or two there haha
  16. I'm sure someone has posted this before but I'm a new member to the site and just wanted to see what everyone's favorite show is. Mine would have to be Arrow Affliction!
  17. Looks good I agree with the Red on White! So much so I made mine with a white wrap and 3 all white blazers!
  18. Not to weird but I was turkey hunting with my bow. Had a tom working toward me. He got to about 25 yds and was focused on my decoy. A coyote had snuck up on him and ended up killing the Tom! As he was standing over him lets just say he had a sudden ache right behind his shoulder. Long story short ended up with a bird and a Coyote with my bow!!!
  19. It happens . . . At least you had a good encounter while on the ground with archery tackle! I love it when an opportunity arives to stalk deer on the ground. I don't do it often but I have a hunting section that is all pine trees the first hundred yards back to my treestand the pines are all in rows. I always walk slowly checking each row as I walk. I've killed quite a few this way and to me it's more thrilling than shooting one from the tree. It's a rush!
  20. I would say if you are confident which it sounds like you are 40 yds would be ok, if you know the exact distance. Make sure you range the deer first if you don't have a rangefinder a few yds guessed too high or too low can cause poor shot placement. I've killed deer at that range but I always aim for the Heart. If the deer tries to jump your string hopefully your arrow will hit the toward the top of the lungs. If it doesn't jump your string than your arrow will find it's mark right in the boiler room.
  21. With good genetics and lots of food I'd guess with the body 2.5 maybe 3.5 if you have the property to grow and hold big deer let him walk but if not I doubt the next hunter to see him wouldn't think twice about taking him.
  22. Wow . . . I would have been in the paper that week with the title of the article reading (24yr old Elk Hunter has a Heart Attack) That was amazing either that Elk had some serious sinus problems that day or that hunter needs to share his scent control secrets!
  23. While scouting for Deer I've seen a lot of turkey sign as well as birds. I'm sure I will have to buy a turkey tag this fall and carry an extra arrow or two in the quiver!
  24. Thats a nice buck hope you get a tag on him this season
