After 2 weeks, the camera still works great, and the battery life indicatior shows that it still has half battery life. Overall I'm very happy with the quality of the pictures, flash, and viewer.
Thanks, He is on 8 acres surrounded by 3 houses, what is the best way to get him in there durring the day, and if I cannot get him this year will he lose anything next year or gain some?
From what I have seen, I don't really know either. I know that my uncle killed a 4.5 year old 5 point this weekend and everything except the mass was smaller than that deer. If I knew for a fact that there were bigger and more symmetrical deer of the same age on my property then I would shoot him just to allow the others to breed the does that he would breed.
I cannot answer that, but every deer I have ever killed has been with Georgia Arms Ballistic tips. They have great expansion and a large exit hole. The only deer I shot with them that did not bleed was a gut shot with a .243 and the guts filled the exit hole, but he still did not run more than 50 yards. I don't know what the problem could be, but a perfect shot always leaves a dead deer.
After I hunted this morning I had 77 pictures of 2 does, 2 raccoons, and somewhere around 15 squirrels. I decided not to pull the card just yet to let it go for a complete week on 1 card. The picture quality is just like the sample pictures on chasingame.com. The next time I go I will pull and post what I get. So far I'm very satisfied with the quality of the camera, flash, and picture viewer.
I just got back from hanging my climber, and the camera had 25 pictures on it. Most of them were of squirrels and two of deer, but the camera only took pictures for 2 days. When I walked up to it it showed that it was picking up motion but did not take any pictures. I changed the card and it began taking pictures. The card I took out would not read in my computer or digital camera but the quality on the picture viewer was rather good. After I hunt tomorrow if it has anything on it I will pull the card and post those pictures. Sorry I did not find anything out this time. (I also changed it from IR to the white flash).
I've had one for several months, and I just put it out this morning. I got the camera because I had one of the junky Remington Ghost that is produced by the same company that quit working. I called the company and they said to send it to them and they would send me a new camera and in 2 weeks the thing showed up at my door. Depending on my work schedule next week, I will check it one afternoon after I hunt and post some pics.(I set the flash to IR to begin with to see if they were decent on the first run).
OTPG?
I know that OTPG is the magnum caliber shooters, but what does the O,T,P,G, acctually stand for? For the record I shoot a Browning x-bolt composite stalker in 7mm REM Mag with a Leupold VX-II 3-9x 50, and I could not ask for a better gun.
Same here in South Carolina, I just want something tall and outside the ears. Heck a deer that would score 97 would be great with a bow or rifle around here.
South Carolina is very odd, lower part of the state you can bait how ever you want too, as well as hunt with dogs. Upper part of the state, minerals are ok, anything else is illegal. On a side note their gun season starts a month before our bow season does as well.
Illegal? I was always told that albion/piebald in whitetail deer was caused due to inbreeding, and they needed to be taken out the same as cull bucks with inferior antlers.
We recently found a great new scrape, and I have a question concerning the best way to hunt it. Would a mock scrape in the grenral area, or putting a drip bag in the scrape that is already created be the best way to bring him out? Thanks.
I'm at a loss, no one that hunts our land has shot at this deer and if he has been shot I do not see how he is still living. Does this look like a possible fighting wound?
Where we are at, it's hard to pass anything. My dad killed a 2.5 year old 8 point 2 weeks ago with great potential that we had planned on passing, but after talking to the neighbors who said they were just out to fill a freezer no matter what the size, if you don't they will.
The gamewarden and highway patrol had been watching this deer in Polk County NC, just across the SC state line for a while, and it is rumored that he was killed last week.

Thanks, I'm going to order some, and what do you use to protect the antlers while using the peroxide? And what is the best way to attatch the skull to a wooden mount?
