  1. Congrats to you and yours! There is no better title than "Daddy"!
  2. “it is painfully clear to me now that little support exists in the Vermont Statehouse for this sort of bill.” -Darn Tootin!! Baruth withdraws proposed assault weapons ban, but gun-control debate lives on | Vermont Press Bureau
  3. Oh yea, we're in the deep freeze here as well. Next week+ looks cold, highs below zero mid week and the mercury could hit -30 Tues/Wed night. I may have to borrow a gas auger for our annual Ice Fishing trip! I'm thinking the spud bar might not cut it this year. Little trivia for ya MXT, did you know that John Quincy Adams, despite being quite religious apparently, was sworn into office with a book of American laws as opposed to a Bible. He wanted to recognize the separation of Church and State as well as swear his allegiance to our nation's laws above all else.
  4. Man oh Man that sounds good......... in fact with that Southwest wind we had ahead of the cold front, I think I smell it! lol!
  5. Agreed, I tried to tie my comments in with the OP. I admit I'm missing the point.
  6. Most posts/pages in one thread Search the term "whiners". Lol
  7. I can appreciate that. We're all right in our own little worlds! Lol
  8. Hinsdale NH. Right accross the river from the Nuke plant in vernon. all the setbacks before the rt.5 bridge in Brattleboro are considerd NH waters but you can fish them with a VT or NH license. That's a beauty! Some real big ones in the river. I usually hit the big setback in Bellows Falls north of the dam. I've had good luck in there.
  9. Boy, that's a stretch! Ever see a child born with Trisomy 13? It's a real #%^*+. If I had the opportunity to prevent my child from being born into a life of agony I'd take it. That makes me pro choice. China's 'one child policy' is pro abortion. I feel trying to draw an analogy between abortion and gun victims is grasping at straws and frankly weakens the argument.
  10. Vermont hunting accidents hit fresh low in 2012 | Reuters
  11. My kids are cracking up at the clock joke!
  12. Taken me almost 3 years to convince some of you guys, lol!
  13. Does the 2nd REQUIRE citizens to own a firearm? If Roe v. Wade required women to have an abortion, that would constitute "pro-abortion". As far as I can tell these two subjects have nothing to do with each other.
  14. Love it. Mr. Morgan has always gotten under my skin, now more than ever.
  15. It was a very tasteless move on Obama's part to use those kids.
  16. The NRA ad raises a very valid point. Unfortunately it does so with over the top, overly dramatic, emotionally sensational, scare tactics. In doing so, it just removes perceived validity.
  17. Wait, so Pro Choice = "Pro Abortion" now?
  18. This case seems to be the club that owns the range no longer allowing city employees to use the facility in light of the ban. I'm willing to bet many of the officers are members of the club. I'm not even sure this range is within city limits, which would make "Assault Rifles" completely legal there.
  19. The city of Burlington VT (If you call a college town of 42,000 a City) has jumped on the bandwagon and banned "assault rifles". Not really all that surprising considering that it's known as "The West Coast of New England". However, when you ban a gun in what may be considered the gun friendliest state in the Union, interesting things happen. Gun range tells police officers: ?Keep Out? after BTV gun vote | Vt Today
  20. I knew what you meant, but honestly I thought you were over reaching. I'm sorry to say I was wrong and you hit the nail on the head: NRA draws heat over its new shooting game - CNN.com I did the same the other day. $35 bucks is a good deal.
  21. I agree here, and I believe this principal is what will prevent any significant legislation. How about the M1? Perhaps one of the most important and collectable pieces of American history just happens to be a semi automatic assault rifle chambered in .30-06 ... BTW - The Federal Government has been selling these rifles to the public for many years through the CMP (Civilian Marksmanship Program)
  22. Going to cut a few holes today... I sat and watched a River Otter for a while once Shaun. They are fishing machines!!
  23. Going to cut a few holes today... Well, wasn't the most productive day on the ice but a nice day none the less. Weather was cold in the morning, single digits until later that afternoon it started to warm up. Conditions were perfect, a good 6-7" of clear ice. Only caught a couple small perch. Supposed to go back into the icebox after this January thaw. Like you said Shaun, that should clean things up nicely.
