Red Light Cameras The trouble I have with the "just obey the law and you won't have a problem" argument is this: I'm an extremely safe driver, I've had 1 incident in the short 24 years I've had my operators license. My insurance rates are rock bottom because of my driving record. I've never had a moving violation, and I am completely legal .. I won't even drive with an inspection 1 day over due. I've not changed my driving habits one bit, and now all of a sudden I'm getting ticketed for it. JMO

I think that with the number of drivers on the road today, and the false sense of security given by the technologically advanced vehicles nowadays, only the foolish wouldn't buckle up , or put the kiddos in a car seat. But I also think that there is really no need for many of the laws in place regarding "safety" ETA: I totally agree with what you're saying about these cars seat guidelines.

I read an article which described these surveillance programs as "crack cocaine" for the towns that install them. Once they get taste of the money it brings in, they just cannot stop adding more. We has to travel back and forth to the funeral home about 8 times down a busy stretch of highway, with several large intersections,. With each picture taken, a flash goes off, there were so many photos being continuously taken, it looked the the super bowl or something! Felt like thery should be broadcasting cash register noises as well! Lol

I had to truck the family down to NY for a funeral a couple weeks ago, and I got a ticket in the mail from the eye in the sky. Needless to say, I'm a tad angered over it. There have been several cases ruled unconstitutional by several Judges in different states. I did view the video on the website, and I did roll through a red light ... however I was not operating in an unsafe manner whatsoever. Personally, I fell if there is not an officer witnessing your infraction, they are not entitled to issue you a ticket. Just wanted to get opinions from you guys.

Valedictorian Shocks Crowd at High School Graduation
The Bug House replied to VermontHunter's topic in Politics
Valedictorian Shocks Crowd at High School Graduation What about my right as an American to not have OTHER PEOPLES BELIEFS shoved down my throat at a PUBLIC school. This misguided young man may have taken his 15 seconds in the spotlight to express his personal beliefs (in front of a crown of overwhelming supporters, READ: Cowardice) ... But in doing so, he violated the Constitution. I can only imagine your responses if he whipped out a prayer rug & Koran, turned towards Mecca, a kneeled in prayer. If he wanted to drag religion into his education, why didn't he attend a religious school? -
Homemade Canoe Trailer? I have a couple kayaks and a canoe that I transport on a regular basis. I have J racks for the kayaks which work very well. My canoe is an 18' aluminum which weighs a ton. I use a 5'X8' "landscape" trailer, the gate/ramp folds over onto the trailer bed. I lash 2 lengths of pressure treated 4"X4" crossways on the front and rear of the trailer. I used my cordless circular saw to cut a groove in each piece and make sure they are lined up. I slide the keel right into the grooves and secure with 2 ratchet straps. It is rock solid and easy to load / unload by myself!

Possible Terrorist Attack.... All over the news here, several friends are down for the race today, I've heard from them since, thankfully. I understand BPD has detonated at least 1 additional bomb. Sounds like a classic "Secondary Device" attack, designed to take out First Responders as they run in to help. Currently reporting 2 dead and 22 injured, with several traumatic amputations.

A local gun shop is having a contest on FB, and I thought it would be a great topic for a thread here as well. Post an inventory list / photo (or both) of your Every Day Carry and/or Bug Out Bag. I tend to keep "multi-use" approach to my carry items. For instance, I use a small tactical backpack for a B.O.B. I keep a sealed, water tight package containing an extensive first aid kit, tinder bundle, waterproof matches, lightsticks, small fishing kit, emergency sewing kits, small amount of candy, knockoff multi tool, duct tape, several feet of para cord, about 50' of bailing twine, whistle, small compass, flashlight, and some other small survival items. I also use it for an emergency kit when I go into the woods, especially for any length of time. Also in the bag I keep: a hat and gloves a headlamp chapstick a 4" folding knife pencil/small notebook bottle of Ibuprophen CPR mask examination gloves trauma shears a camera chargers for my electronics 12V to 100W inverter small water bottle I'm probably forgetting something.. Believe it or not, all these items fit compactly into the small backpack. I have carried this with me every single day for the past 6 years or so. I also have enough room to use the pack to carry my folded uniform into work, so it comes with me. It's convenient to grab for a day outing as well. On my belt / in my pockets I carry: Leatherman 3" gravity knife w/serrated blade 9mm Baretta 1 spare mag for a total of 25 rounds iPOD small cellphone Wallet Keys I try to be equally prepared for an unexpected car breakdown as I am for a severe weather related event while away from home, or even worse. What do you guys carry?

Awesome!! I want one!

Just got a Home Dopey CC a few weeks ago for that exact reason xj, saved 10% on a new sump pump. The whole application process took about 45 seconds while standing at the register. Walked away with an $8000 credit line.

Well, like the typical XY chromosome I've procrastinated to the almost last minute. My wife and I celebrate our 10th on May 1st. With 3 little ones, getting away for a weekend is just not a possibility, but I am planning a night out when her mother visits shortly after our day. I've also picked up a couple of small trinket gifts along the way, and she's not to big on jewelry. She's taking the kids to visit Grandma & Grandpa next week and I've arranged for new living room furniture to be delivered while they're gone, she asked for the furniture as a gift, but that doesn't seem right to me! lol. The past 2 years have been especially trying, and she's an exceptional woman, I want her to know that. Beside flowers/candy/jewelry type stuff, I'm striking out........ Anyone have any bright ideas???

Also having the same problem now. Everything seemed fine until I read this thread...lol!

Yup, looks like a sucker to me.

Agree with above posts, no credit is often viewed as worse off the medium to poor credit. A small personal loan from the Bank or a secured CC may be your best bet in order to establish some credit. You seem like the kind of consumer the CC companies hate! I closed my discover card years ago because I never used it, now it seems like its accepted a fewer and fewer places. Used to be affiliated with Sears, they had a limited rewards program back then as well. My visa card now gives me points for every purchase. I exchange them for cash once or twice a year.
