    Trapping

I have no experience or any equipment. I am considering trying it and have no idea what I will need to get started. The state offers a course and I am obviously going to attend. Any one out there trap in Vermont or have any advice for a person looking to get into it?
  5. All depends on how deep in the woods you are and the terraine you cross. Used a four Wheeler in a swamp and drag by hand out of a field, a drag harness in deep woods.
  6. Haven't in a while. I know he works at the hospital and hours could change at anytime.
  7. You have to protect your assests and how you provide for your families. I don't see anything wrong with what happened. Sounds like he cost you more in reworked pieces and materials. Its a choice you gave him. Comply or walk, he walked. I don't think you should have guilt. He made the choice himself. You did everything right.

I'm pretty sure with no buck at all. Doesn't mean he hasn't gotten doe but not every can hunt as much as other so that might be a factor. Can sound fishy but who am I to dis credit the word of a man I have never met? Just relaying what I read.
  9. It might be a difficult transition but the young boy is becoming a man and serving this fine nation. He will always know where home is and I'm sure since he gets 2.5 days of leave a month then he should be right.around 20 or so days by then. Encourage him and support is the best way to keep spirits up. Boot sucks so letters from home keep folks going. Its amazing to see what a difference a peice of mail can make in a mans attitude while being away. Thank him for me for his courage and beginning a journey towards defending all of us.

No buck at all. As far as I'm concerned any deer that you are blessed to take is a trophy
  11. Where do you live? In West Fairley Vermont you can do a Russian boar hunt for 750.00 its pricey but for me its about and hour drive so not bad.

Just saw a post on the American Archers face book page. A man has been hunting for 27 years and still has yet to get a buck. I can't help but feel for him but applaud his persistance. What would you do? Hang it up or keep at it? I would keep at it until I'm physically unable to or the fire burns out.
  13. Congratulations to you and your family.
  14. Had the same problem with my buddies. Couldn't figure it out at all buy might try your method. Glad it worked for you.
  15. Rolling target left to right while bouncing. Took that from the skeet range
  16. About time some media coverage got the details right. Now we wait for Hillary Clinton to over come the " concussion " she magically developed in order to avoid testifying.
  17. Agree with you Hoosier. Made great points.

  19. I find it sucking that they have used these last two actually four very publicized incidents to labels every gun as a bad thing. Again I will say that each event has been extremely tragic and each is a despicable act of evil. With that said its odd to me that the initial report was there was an AR15 in the car but after so much media coverage it was determined he used it in the act? Now fellas we all saw the pics of the police carrying M4's. Don't you think they know the difference between a rifle and a hand gun considering they were carrying one. I refuse to go to dicks anymore. How about these investors bailing on fire arms? Sad. I hate how powerful the media is in this country. Its got way to much pull. I have an idea about these "assalut rifles" . It kinda sits in between what most people want. Most states require a concealed carry permit so why require a permit to purchase these style of weapons. Only sell them with ten round mags instead of thirty although those mags are.readily available with little trouble, and for all those anti gun folks out there talking about this issue no having a.gun with a thirty round magazine (not a clip) is not needed but then again northern is legalized marijuana when DUI'S are.still a very serious issue and kills more people than guns, also a car that is capable of 150+ miles per isn't need either. Its out there for purchase and that's why the are bought. Its simple really. Do you politicians need a salary that is equal to or more than 10 average families combined or health care that doesn't cost you a dime since us hard working tax.payers pick up that bill for you? I do believe congress, the president and all the elected officials have bigger things to worry about then gun control considering there is still no resolution to the ever present fiscall cliff. I'm not being insensitive to the tragedys just saying my peace and yes I feel for the families who lost there loved ones but I know of a few families personally who lost loves ones protecting our rights as Americans.
  20. Rock river isn't bad, ruger SR 556 is nice but very pricey, dpms are decent, stag are nice my buddy has one I think that they are the only ones that comes with a stock upper for lefties and the selector is flipped on the other side, Daniel defense seems nice from watching there videos, colts shoot good but expensive in comparison for plinking. I would say rock river is a great choice. Last year you could get one with full stock (m16) style for around nine hundred. If you go A4 it should come with a removable carry handle so it is then a flat top. So many to choose from that its hard to say I think another one is Olympic or something close. For what you want it should not be hard to find. I'm with you on getting one before you can't unfortunately I also don't have the spare funds to drop on it. Its a nice dream tho. Lol. Hope it helps.
  21. First I'm glad your alright. Second not to much visible damage. Third you did the right thing. No reason to let someone else hit the animal. Unfortunately these things happen. That woman just doesn't understand. Maybe reflecting on it tonight it will make some sense to her.
