    New Guy!

    Welcome to the family.
  4. Welcome to the forums. Dig on in, a ton of info.
  5. Miss a does the other night. I might go out tonight not sure tho. Any luck elsewhere?
  6. I would be happy to see that many. In the eight or so times I've been out I've seen three. Good luck with getting the big boy.
  7. You could make new loops out of paracord and then tie the two loops together in the middle. I used the supplied straps and made them work that way. I know the stirrups will work on my API but does the gorrila have round tubes? That would be the major issue you could run into. they're are a few ways I'm thinking of to fix the problem your having but its some work. Could weld in stirrups but that messes with the ability to collaspe the stand for transport. Also you could use the pull tight straps but noise is and issue also could use bungy cords but I don't know about that just popped into my head. Good luck hope it works out for you

    Busted

So it was about 6:35 last night. I heard a branch break behind so I turned to look and didn't see anything and wouldn't you know it. When I was turning back I got.busted. Scared the crap out of me. The weeze made be jump and looked saw the tell tail sign of a white tail heading away from my stand. Figured my night was over. Up there kick my self over what happened. About 15 minutes goes by and another branch cracks behind me. Instincts says look but I just sat there looking in the direction my stand was facing. Then another branch crack so I stood up and looked this time. About 25 to thirty yards out I could see a few deer walking. They were in some good cover so it was a glimpse here and a glimpse there. She finally got into a little bit of an opening so I raised up, pulled back and waited for a better shot. Took another couple minutes until she moved a bit more. I let it go and missed her. No sign of blood on the arrow that took me for ever to find which barried itself nice and deep into a stump... ohwell it happens. Keeping. Good spirits about it but I think my days of bow hunting down here in Virginia are over. Time to pack up and head back to the great north east. Vermont bound Wednesday. Can't wait to get back to where I belong. Family, friends and more deer hunting.
  9. Romenys campaign tour stopped traffic for thirty minutes while every cop in the darn town escorted down a four lane high way. I'm ready for it to be over. The campaign pitches and all that cones with it. Can't even listen to the radio with out hearing about it. I know its an important time for the country but I've had enough of it. Hope you don't have to do that again.
  10. I also take it off to hunt but I still practice with it on and off. Just in case.
  11. All of my family felt it. We had one down here when I worked nights. I woke up the feeling that my bed was one of those coin operated beds. Didn't pay any mind to it and fell asleep. Any damage at your place?
  12. Looks like y'all had a blast. Congrats on the success.
  13. Having the same issue on public land.
  14. Being deployed I have learned to always shake my boots. Its drilled in my head to do so. I even do it.when I put on my street shoes. I have to agree that you are lucky you didn't get bit by anything.
  15. I would go with black and orange to match my arrows and bow string. That looks pretty sweet WV. I know how to make the 550 cord bracelets ( survival) but.I don't know how to do that. Right now my bow sports a the sling that came with it but I am bit oppose to changing it out.
  16. Had no luck but had a great time. It was a long day about 19 hours including travel and on stand. I swear my eyes were playing tricks on me seeing crazy things. I guess it happens when the hunted wins. For now.... back at of on Monday. Can't wait. Anyone else have any luck?
  17. Finally it has come. Heading out to go meet up with a friend. I have been counting down since April to this day. Crossing my fingers i get to let one fly. Good luck to everyone.
  18. I second that. Ultra rest is very similar to the rip cord. I think mine is the hunter version. Cost less than the rip cord and works great. I can't remember the exact amount but it wasn't over sixty bucks and swithching from a hostage rest was one of the best moves I have made. No worries about worn out brushes. One to look into for sure.

    Killzone.

Went to the range today shot pretty good. Tried the practice broadhead for the NAP Killzone and I am very impressed. So much so I'm considering putting them on for the first hunt. Was planning on using my Muzzy phantoms 4 blade but with how the killzone flies it kind of through a wrench in the game plan. Anyone have success or a bad experience with them? The one knock I have noticed is how hard it is to open the blades but then again atleast they should stay closed in flight.
  22. I got to say that's a **** of job to take on yourself and you all pulled it off. Congratulations to you and the wife for a great job.
