  1. Nocturnals. Are the deer able to see them or have you noticed any affect they have as far as the deer noticing a light coming at them? Also, as far as deer seeing them goes, does anybody suggest any certain color to be better for whatever reason?
  2. Nocturnals. What are some benefits of lighted knocks?
  3. Yeah or nay? Will I need to resight my pins if I start using them? Are they worth the money? Any good or bad about them would be much appreciated.
  4. Mechanicals Shooting the Muzzys with the practice blades is tearing my target to pieces.
  5. Do most mechanicals fly like field points?
  6. Trophy Ridge Revolution rest. Should I bother getting one with "true horizontal distance"? Seems like at a max of 30 yds it won't make much of a difference.
  7. Trophy Ridge Revolution rest. Is Simmons or Bushnell an ok brand. It's the only one I can find under $100.
  8. Trophy Ridge Revolution rest. Well, I had the rest put on today and I really like it. Only problem is now I have to resight my bow. I might try to find a cheap rangefinder on eBay.
  9. Any experience with it? Thinking of getting one tomorrow. I've heard it is loud when it opens up. Any help would be great.
  10. Do y'all think having somebody drop you off in a truck right at your stand on a morning hunt has any affect on your hunt that morning?
  11. Well, that sucks! Turns out I will be able to go at least 1 day opening weekend then 2 days that week.
  12. Trophy ridge sights. Only problem is I don't have a rangefinder.
  13. I just realized that I bought tickets to the Lion King in NC opening weekend of bow season. This sucks!
  14. For some reason, I just watched an hour and a half of Mountain Monsters. What is the strangest thing you've seen in the woods? One of the first times I hunted, I was dropped off at a stand in the am while still dark. I heard the loudest creepiest screeching I've ever heard in my life. Looking back on it after years in the woods it was probably a bobcat or something killing or being killed. It was hideous sounding though.
  15. Hogs a danger? How fast can they run?
  16. Trophy ridge sights. My 20 and 30 yd pins are close enough that they would both be on the deer at the same time. My 20 yd pin is good from 20 down to at least 10 I know. I just like the idea that I can sight it in at 20 at home and not have to worry about judging distances to the deer while in the stand. I've just always heard that they either don't work or are loud.
  17. Trophy ridge sights. I don't know that I trust a pendulum sight. It sounds like a great idea since I'm not good at judging distances.
  18. Best scent spray I have always gone back to Scent Away. I tried a new brand every year but Scent Away is the one brand I know for a fact works (for me).
  19. Does anybody have any experience with the Trophy Ridge pursuit or the Trophy Ridge react sight? Looking at possibly getting one of the two.
  20. Theory... It just might work. Yeah, there was absolutely no way to control sweating while putting up stands. But, they are up and I have about 20 something days until I can hunt one of them and almost 2.5 months before I can hunt the other one.
  21. Just hung 2 ladder stands. Now it's the waiting game. I'll be in one of them on August 16 in the am. And the other one will sit until October before I can use it.
  22. How far do you drive to your lease? A little over 2 hours. Nothing but Eric Church coming out of the speakers on the way there.
  23. If I moderately control my scent to put up a stand. When the deer come through and smell some of my leftover scent then see the stand, they will associate the scent with the stand. They will eventually realize that the stand is no danger to them. Come hunting season, if they get a whiff of me (scent control utilized, obviously) they will associate it with the stand that is no danger to them.
  24. The farm that I hunt on is having a hog problem this year. My question is: Are hogs something that I should look at as a threat to my safety going to my stand in the morning when it's dark or leaving my stand at night?
  25. What was your first deer you shot with a bow? First deer with a bow was a 3pt last season. He came right behind a doe that I missed. He was close enough that he had to have seen what happened. He came in anyways. I missed the first shot at him. He ran about 10 ft and stopped. I gut shot him on the next shot. We trailed him a couple hours that night but never found him. I went back the next am and searched for hours but lost blood and never found him. I was on the way out of the woods and my father in laws dog stopped to lick a puddle of blood about 100-150 yds away from where I lost blood. I found him about 20 yds from that blood spot lying in a ditch.
