My buddies think Im crazy, but there are things I swear by, and these are these things that I just follow suit, and just can't break my pattern, no other ways to put it, and I usually am very successful on killing Gods creatures because of it, I can't wait till I see some list from others, but heres my MUST HAVE LIST. 1) Scent free body wash (lime green liquid, wont hunt without using it) 2) Fall scent killer spray 3) Trails End 307, and regular doe urine till rut. 4) Magnus broadheads, really swear by my two blader's. 5) Safety harness, have the "shoulder" one, but will use others. 6) Old fixed blade "camper" style hunting knife with leather sheath., just a great knife. 7) Full face cotton facemask. Thats it, usually NEVER stray from any of these, if so, I won't go hunting..haven't been in a tree yet, but my buddy found my soap for me WAY out of town, and Ill be set for the morning...so, lets see the lists!!

It may not matter, due to the fact he is just a "bordering" landowner where I hunt, but I still feel good about what I did. My landowner had an older model 60 Marlin rifle with a small cheap .22 scope on it, that was really hard to even focus one eye on, so I had an extra red dot at home, as I recently purchased two others from forums, so I put a red dot scope on his gun for free. He has went thru about 700 rounds since yesterday..he is having the time of his life according to him. Due to powers out of my control, I may not even be on the land next to his much longer, but I sure like this guy and his wife always makes fresh cookies for us, so whether I hunt in the area or not, I still have a great friend. al

The farmers are using the no till in my area, and when going to check on my stands, there were 11 deer eating stubble out of the bean field, and they were a mere 10 yards from a cornfield, and stayed eating the stubble of beans.......I live in Illinois..al

any good squirrel recipes out there?
dartonman replied to Michiganbuckhunter's topic in The Realtree Chuckwagon
I crockpot three squirrels whole for 8 hours, then strip all the meat off of them, and when the broth is nice and boiling, I add peas or mixed veggies (frozen), then in a separate pot I boil the broth and add dumplings from the frozen section of the grocery store. When those are complete, * the dumplings are boiled in the squirrel broth, different pot, meats layed aside*. I readd the meat, and whala, squirrel and dumplings...my kids come back for seconds, and thirds....they love it...al -
Another great place to check is archerytalk.com under their free classified ads.....al

I have had great experience with the Muzzy brand...once you spin test them, get the good ones going strong, you can't go wrong. I still am a huge fan of my Magnus two blade heads though, as I resharpen them...have a great season. al

My son Marshall harvested his first one yesterday, and the bugger stayed in the tree 40 minutes after taking a full load of 6 shot from a .410. My squirrel was an instant kill with my newest toy, a 22 magnum. So two in the fridge in water, making squirrel and dumplings this morning...it goes to show you, if you make a great hit, stay near the tree....they will come out sooner or later. We had to leave the woods by 10am, the misquitoes were absolutely horrible...........al

Thank you all for the well wishes.......my past experience as a correctional officer for over 10 years, and working court security with the US Marshals really paid off in a huge way....goes to show you, you never burn a bridge you may have to cross again. I had guys and gals I can't even remember their names that I worked with in court security come to the main office and put their two cents in to hire me..over 15 law enforcement personel in the area stopped in and spoke with the hiring team in my behalf...that I haven't spoke with in a long time, due to working midnights in the factory, very humbling experience that they still speak highly of me. I have been blessed. Thanks gang. al

For the last few years I have worked in a factory in the shipping division...running a stand up forklift, midnight shift, and when I wasn't pulling orders, I was stacking 55 pound bags for hours on end...well, that all changes August 9th at 8am. After being out of law enforcement for over 8 years (14 years at it before). I am proud to announce I am the newest security team member of the Winnebago County Courthouse. I will mainly focus on courtroom security, and protecting the judges. I was selected out of 219 applicants. I am pumped. I wear plain clothes, and I am the enforcer in the courtrooms. My hours (no more graveyard shifts) are Mon-Thursday 8am-5pm, and Friday 8am-3pm....my "lunch hour" is from noon-1pm daily., with a personal day awarded each month to bank, and two weeks vacation, and full benefits for me and the family. My prayers have been answered., and my family and my back are relieved. al
