  1. Nice looking machine there Shaun. Are the tires stock, look to be a bit tight inside the body.
  2. Merry Christmas to you Lewis. Merry Christmas to all.
  3. Good to see you check in Dakota. Was starting to wonder if you got in trouble with jury duty.
  4. Ok. Thanks for letting me know. Good to hear is posting there.
  5. I know some here are in Facebook, I am not. He signed up for the deer contest, figured he would check in there. One of the last posts from him he mentioned jury duty.
  6. Thanks Frank. On foot while walking have had 3 encounters now with a shooter, quite possibly and probably likely all have been the same buck. Given the location, guessing the one I saw today is the same one I saw in the bottom Saturday morning. He wasn't limping Saturday though. Have not seen a single decent buck from a stand this season.
  7. Well, got another beat up one around. While walking this morning to check cams, walked up on one past his ears that I could tell was a decent buck from 70 or so yards away without any optics. I chambered a round, and picked up the binos instead of the gun, because he was not in a good direction safe for me to shoot. Our house was in the backdrop and while I am quite certain there was no way the bullet would ricochet, was just not worth risking it. He was limping, not as hard as the little buck. He stopped a few times once clear of the house where I could see him, vitals behind a tree each time. He blew a few times, could tell he was not a young deer, he did not go far. I detoured a bit on the way to get to the cams, left him in a spot where maybe he might not feel like I was pushing him. Hopefully he comes out in daylight while I get to be in a stand. So I am now leaning towards thinking there is a bully around. Wish I could be in a stand this afternoon.
  8. Never hurts to have more backstraps, can always find takers for ground. No idea what the cause for his shoulder injury, could have been a fight, or hit by car, or could have been shot. Don't think he will ever amount to much, but could be kinda cool character with the beams almost touching. If he can keep away from the yotes. As he was yesterday, no doubt in my mind one could take him down. Crummy cell phone pic, it was dim. Not legal to use corn or any bait here, cwd high risk zone.
  9. Sad reality in the destruction of this country and a large role in the state of societal decline. My opinion is that there is a motive behind many of these "movements" that involves the destruction or submission of all white men. No end to it in sight either. Just wonder how some of these geniuses can say what they say, to influence the weak minded, without understanding the divide they are creating and how they are damning themselves. Sounds like a cool machine Martin. Would definitely be nice to have a climate controlled cab.
  10. Hope you are doing well Steve. Good to see you check in here. You have a Merry Christmas.
  11. Had a little narrow 5pt come through this afternoon about 20 minutes before dark. His left shoulder had something wrong with it. His hoof was curled up. He never touched that side to the ground, but he seemed to be feeding fine and fed heavy. He was still feeding when I snuck down. Unfortunately he never did turn well enough for me to get a look at that side. He gave me probably 5 solid minutes of broadside on his right side. I did get a glimpse head on through the binoculars and it looked like the shoulder was out of place. Anyway, with a lot of coyotes around and the deer hobbling hard what would you do?
  12. Congratulations on the new addition and on the great year of hunting you have had.
  13. Tells me the video is unavailable. Good luck with the vlog and stacking the yotes Shaun, kill em all!!! Had one in my scope about 20 -25 minutes before legal shooting light over the weekend, and wanted soooo bad to squeeze off a round from the 6.5 but didn't.

Seems it continues with this season of close calls for me. Got to get out this morning for a bit. Catrina has a meeting at church so I did not stay in the stand much past 8. Saw a yote 25 minutes before legal shooting light. Had 3 does come through early on and worked right past me into the bottom. Heard something wading in the water from the direction they came from but nothing else I could see came through. Does came back out and fed for a bit in the bottom. Old grey faced doe jerks her head up and is on alert watching back across the wet field. I can hear steps in the water but never could make out anything, too many trees in the way. Neighbors dog barks and the doe finally had all she can stand and takes off. Never heard anymore activity in the water and by 8 the wind had picked up. Decided I would walk down to my beaver trap and check it before coming back to the house. Had my rifle in my hands, about three quarters of the way to the trap I come around a bend in the old river channel out from behind some brush on the bank and all I see is hind end and antlers. Immediately shoulder my rifle and let out a couple meeehs, as I find him in my scope he leaps a couple times and is across the river and behind some brush. Might have been able to have squeezed off a Texas heart shot, but did not try. He is a good buck, better by far than anything we have gotten pics of this year. Definitely better than the one in the pics above. Pretty sure he stopped right after he got behind the brush. Never heard any splashing or running. He was off our property by now, so just walked on to the trap and walked back to the house. Did walk slowly watching for him in the way back, no sign. Figure he was probably what the old doe was watching. Where he was, I never would have seen him from my stand. Wind will be right this afternoon for that stand, so plan to go back.
  15. Very nice Ruth. Congratulations.
  16. Congratulations. Looks like a good sized doe. Maybe your 6 point will hang around and be bigger next year.
  17. Look like a nice bull and ram there to me Dave. Very nice pics.

Just the way it has gone for me this season, just can't seem to catch a break. Catrina has to work this weekend due to being short rn's. I may get a little afternoon time, but we'll see. Have heard rifle shots just off our property almost every morning this week, and every Saturday I have gotten to hunt since the season started. Looks like the cwd plan to kill them all is gonna take its toll here.
  19. Congratulations Frank. Two nice bucks. Congratulations to Molly too. lol. Good luck with the guinea pigs, we went with rabbits when Allison asked for guinea pigs since rabbits can tolerate being outside year round.

Possibly saw this buck this morning at 10:45 while walking. Was either him or another wide one we haven't gotten pictures of. Had checked a beaver trap and was walking the old river channel. He was bedded in some thick stuff less than 5 yards from the channel. He trotted off about 5 yards, stopped long enough for me to see his antlers and ears over the vegetation and then eased slowly off. Pulled my rifle around but never could find him in the scope and did not have a round in it either. Won't get to hunt again until Saturday. With him bedded there at that time of the morning hoping he will still be close by.
  21. lol. If you leave now, there might be a piece left. Made 2 pecan and 2 fudge pies this morning, they don't last too long around here. Maybe I will get lucky and see a deer, seem to be in a bit of a slump the past few sits. Not even getting pics on our cams lately.
  22. Just climbed up in a stand now. Will go back for seconds and some pecan pie in a couple hours.
  23. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone, hope the "gathering police" don't get anyone. Just got done putting leftovers away.
  24. Only gonna get worse. Components hard to come by too. Finding primers in 1000 or greater quantities would be about like hitting the lottery.
  25. Really, ridicuolous. Expectation of an impending nationwide indefinite lockdown......... Here we go again, toilet paper paper towels, bleach, and cleaning supplies all seeing runs again. Empty shelves on the paper aisles. Hearing even freezers cannot be found for folks stocking up. Wonder how many of those Americans that "don't panic" are the same ones that voted for joe and are fear buying and hoarding or panicking? What's happening elsewhere?
