Thanks Dave. I know it's a gamble, but I also know I am probably in over my head with any failures that might come up with this thing. We will probably add the allstate warranty just for peace of mind after the 5 year 100,000 factory warranty falls off. With what we saved off the msrp, I feel like even with adding the extended warranty we will come out pretty well on the deal. The way I was to understand, the work could be done anywhere. This dealership was very straightforward, no games. Now I just need to find some time to sit in it when I am not driving and figure out all the buttons.

Hospital gave covid to one of the wife's residents when they were sent out after a fall, and now she has an outbreak in her building. That resident was a wanderer in the Alzheimer's unit. Sad situation. Now she is dealing with multiple residents positive and short staffed with several staff positive. She is convinced now the efficacy of masks is overrated. She tested ALL of those who have come back positive, so she is really concerned about her ppe procedures and the possibility of any potential point of failure. Catrina has been working 16+ hour days since Sunday, of course she is salary too so she does not even get any compensation for her extra time. Yeah, the stress impact factor of this is beyond overwhelming. Seeing my wife come in exhausted and crying her eyes out over losing a resident to this after watching how hard she has worked to keep those people safe is beyond words. To have that resident be exposed outside her building where they should have been safe is out of her control, and all I can do is keep reminding her it is not her fault. Our 14 year old daughter was sitting at a table with another kid that left Monday mid school day for "not feeling good" and has not been back since. Not a peep from the school about that kid. Allison said at one point there were over 140 kids out for quarantine.

At this point not looking too likely I will get the opportunity. Wife is having major issues at her work due to the wuhan virus. Looking at possible flooding and temps in the mid 70's each morning. So, likely I would not hunt where I planned in the bottom anyway.

Appears my old thread from 2004 is gone.

Hope the chiropractor can fix you up Don.

Anyone here had any experience with them? We had planned on buying from a local dealer that offered a lifetime powertrain warranty and were willing to pay a little more, but they could not get us the truck we wanted. We bought a new truck over the weekend and while I don't normally do extended warranties I am interested in this allstate plan. The finance manager was not at all pushy, and only even offered this information after my mention of the lifetime powertrain at the local dealer. We went with the duramax coupled with the allison 10 speed. We can still add the warranty, $2800 roughly and picks up after the bumper to bumper ends. Has a $100 deductible, but covers pretty well everything for 10 years. Had we not gone with the duramax I probably would not consider it. We had allstate insurance for a while and did have one issue with them, but they did always take care of us on the few occasions we needed them. On the other hand allstate supposedly backs square trade warranties, and they have poor ratings with that. I have had issues myself with a sq trade warranty on my 19 year old daughters phone, cannot get a live person.

Good to see you back around. Hope all is going well for you.

First week in and high school has had 2 students known to test positive. No idea why those kids were tested. Imagine there are a few asymptomatic with it. One of them was on the football team and had been practicing. Supposedly all those that had been in contact with notified and are having to isolate. School is being sure to send out their cya automated calls saying they are following guidelines blah blah blah. Our numbers here have been bad this past week, think it was on Thursday the states numbers had our county at just shy of ten times the acceptable threshold to open nursing homes. County of only 47000 has had at least 1200 positives and last I checked 11 had died. Hearing stories that the local hospital is basically to the point they are turning away or not keeping some patients. Our oldest daughter was sitting with an elderly lady, the lady overnight before our daughter got there had an in home accident out fall and was sent to that er. They would not keep her. Inside an hour after the hospital sent her on her way with her son she suffered a massive stroke!

Yeah right, just like there are no mountain lions here. They deny such until their hand is forced. Long before cwd we had liberal limits allowing 3 does a day all season long.

Finally broke down and bit the bullet on a brand new Chevy hd crew cab. After weighing everything out and looking at the incentives went with the duramax coupled with the Allison 10 speed. Had to go a ways to get the truck, the 500 mile ride home yesterday averaged 20.9 mpg rolling along mostly at 78. Pretty impressed so far with the ease this thing gets moving.

Unless the spread is NOT a result of prions. Seems they are contradictory to the information they put out. Our commission has been promoting killing more deer since well before cwd was acknowledged.

Posted a sign up a good while back in the contest room, only been four or five sign up. Hopefully more will sign up soon.

Sure with what you have been through it would make for feeling older Dakota. Had to be a lot of stress on all your systems through your struggles with your heart.

I actually had a thread here years ago with pics to show our blind build and progress. Unfortunately think those pics got lost either from photobucket or may have been hosted here. I will try to dig that thread up and post a link here if I can manage to find it.

Actually got this below in an email last week They are promoting landowners giving more permission and killing as many deer as possible in the cwd zone.

Think I have had 4 times I was unable to walk due to the injury to my back that happened when I was about 20 when I was working at ups. Only have an issue with my l2 and l3, at least that I know of now. No doubt when the legs won't do what you want them to it is frustrating, the ladder fall that I had when working on this house had me unable to walk without help for more than a week. Back then our neighbor, a very good chiropractor, helped me a lot. Our family dr gave me a prn script last year for diclofenac. I admit I take it at times but do still have more than two thirds of the bottle that was filled last year. I have taken it before going to sit in a stand a few times to make it more tolerable to be able to sit and take at times before going to bed when the discomfort is bad enough.

Best of luck to you this season Dave, and hope all goes well for you. Hope you have the problem of having to pack one out this year, and hope it goes well. Stay safe.

With this being a week from tomorrow, had hopes we might have one of the bucks from last year show up. Swapped cards this morning, not a single buck since the last pull on August 8th. To date, have had just a couple fork horns and spikes show up on our cams, furthest I think we have gone into the summer in quite some time without at least having some decent bucks pass our cameras. Have had some yotes around, may just plan on setting up for yotes. A lot less work killing coyotes.

I honestly don't now. I did used to enjoy watching sporting events, was into following a couple sports back in my time before getting married, and continued to follow football until more recently. In my teens did go to several "badman contests", think they eventually got banned. Those were in central Florida, over 30 years ago, there were some pretty tough guys that came back each time and I just wanted to see them win more so than seeing them beat the other guys bloody. I honestly don't know if mma existed in the United States at that time. As far as the female violent nature increasing, maybe hormones and stuff being pumped into all the fast foods people eat. Maybe society and social media. Suspect there are a combination of contributing factors. One thing I can say for certain is that the current stress with covid and the uncertainty in our society is making for tense times that likely elevates irritability.

Off the top of my head, as best as I can remember anyway, I used inch and a half for my tower and floor. Honestly don't remember the thickness. I think I used one inch for the wall framing and roof. I used one inch flat for bracing, probably should have used angle our channel as it does give some. Our blind is anchored with screw in anchors, think they were at least 12 inches deep. We have had pretty high winds, tornado force and straight line winds and no issues at all.

Beans in bottom doing ok, getting plenty of moisture but have a lot of pigweed. Not sure how to get rid of it, sprayed a burn down mix of gly and 2 4d about a week before tilling it. Stuff just keeps coming back and unfortunately appears to be roundup resistant. Have sprayed the plot twice with a mix of 2 ozs per gallon and killed everything else but the pigweed and beans. Plot in the hills is dry, needs some rain in a bad way. May not get the draw we were hoping for when crops come out. Have some pigweed there now too, think I picked up seed with the tiller from the bottom. At least this is not the spiny pigweed.

I had been saying this up to a few years ago, but it seems to be looking more and more likely that it could happen in my lifetime. The escalation in my opinion really took off with obama and his disdain for law enforcement. It set a tone that has only caused more division and hatred in this country. Exactly right, the extreme to which those who dislike Trump go to is very concerning. It in many cases is hatred and those who engage in those acts think their violence is somehow excusable or justifiable because they have that right, their right to expression. On the flipside, it does not seem to go the other way around, most supporters of conservative causes are peaceful. . Honestly not so sure it is a video game or tv problem as much as it is a society problem stemming from outside influences kids get from social media. Really tough once they move away from home or go off to college. There is no doubt there a disconnect between right and wrong and reality and what they see in their devices. Unfortunately I have had some issues of my own on political topics with our older two daughters with their perceptions and some of the people they follow. You can try and talk with kids and give them advice, but you cannot force them to not believe the crap they read on their devices that is posted on whatever platform by whichever popular person it is they follow. Some of the garbage I have seen is very disturbing and misleading. Makes it easy to see how some with not so much experience in life might be influenced. All you can do is hope they someday come around on their own. The mindset of entitlement as Dave points out and the liberal mindsets pushed in colleges, the attempts to shut down free speech that does not conform to the liberal mainstream are all compounding the problem of decay of morality.

Think social media has exponentially expedited this downward spiral. Again think much of this is linked to social media. Too many people in this day and age act like they care about fellow man, but when faced with doing right or doing what benefits themselves they will time and again screw over others with no conscience. The self serving attitude by so many in today's world is hard to overlook. Yep. Good song that has it right.

Good luck to all of you going after deer, antelope, or elk with archery gear. Think I will put a morning sit or two in for the velvet hunt the last weekend in August, but will probably have a 308 in my hands.
