Quit watching any of them years ago.

Good luck Dakota. Some day I would like to get back out west and go after mule deer and antelope, but that will be a ways out. Stay safe and healthy buddy.

Sad news to hear. Real shame the media is exploiting his death and blaming Trump.

Nice deer and mount Dakota. Congratulations.

Welcome back to all of you. Hope everything is going well for all.

No sir. Sickening to see the salaries of sports figures, then many like you mention sign ridiculous greed ridden contracts for companies. While some do a little good with what they "earn", you don't hear much of most of them "giving back". Wonder how many sports figures are still getting paid, despite not being able to work due to coronavirus, or getting cut pay? I should probably stop there and not get started on the greed in the music and movie industries. Sadly most of those same wealthy out of touch individuals are the ones that today's kids follow on social media platforms.

People pull them off or pull them under their noses after they get in the stores. Pretty sure Lowe's and tractor supply are among the stores nationwide requiring a mask. I did a curbside pickup order at tractor supply the other day and saw several people walk back to their vehicle to get their masks. Governor said he would not mandate masks, also has said he will absolutely not close our economy again. No mandate in our county, but there is in the closest neighboring county, which is also the county with the hospital serving our area. Ironically that mayor, according to public data, pushed opening before his county should have opened. Read an article that said Walmart is still serving customers without masks. They cannot get people to follow the arrows marking direction on the floors or get people to stay 6 ft apart either. Numbers here are not looking so good here. More data than the state gives on their website is is posted daily for the county our news channel is located in. There have been 117 kids there under 20 out of a total of 800 some odd people that have tested positive. With schools out, would not think kids would be as likely to be exposed. Tennessee had ranked very poorly early on with regards to social distancing, really don't understand why it is so difficult for some people to understand.

Wife had another positive contract employee, a physical therapy assistant. When she called the health department to report it the person who she talked with said they were over 700 positive cases behind. That is for the rural areas between Nashville and Memphis and those numbers are not yet reflected on the states website. In other words this is way worse here at this point than the numbers we can see are showing. Guess we are in what is now designated as a hot spot.

Had kind of wondered myself about the need for the rangefinders you are talking about. Guess if it increases a hunters confidence then that is a plus for them. Off the top of my head, trying to think of a product I had to have that was going to make me a better hunter. Going to have to think on this one. Aside from a few calls that turned out no better than any other, not having anything really come to mind.

Don't think it possible, pretty sure he was 46.

Wow. The thought process, it was the police's fault. Don't know how old that is, if it was from 30 years ago it might be the same George Floyd.

The fact that they need a waiver tells me they are more concerned about that potential than those pushing the openings. We sign a waiver of liability every year, but not specific to covid. This same school system just banned ALL peanut based products from their elementary school this year. Same area where a couple of kids trespassed on a vacant property (that was partially fenced and had no trespassing signs) got in a pond and drowned, only for the parents to sue that property owner. Those boys went to the middle school that is in this same town. I get your point Dave, it just makes us more nervous about the entire situation that the school is concerned enough to be doing a cover their butt waiver. A lot of experts on this subject do not agree with each other. My wife has seen first hand how this virus is working. She is seeing ALL her positive cases being with NO symptoms, she just had 2 more come back yesterday. That makes for this thing to spread much more rapidly with people going on about their normal lives not having a clue they are infected and giving to others who may not be so lucky. Testing here is taking as long as 2 weeks through the health dept. Fortunately her work is using their own lab and getting results in as little as 3 days in some cases with the average being 4-5. They started testing all their employees that show any symptoms rather than sending them to the health dept. Yes, we did make a decision, Dave. We based our decision on a couple factors. Our 9 year old is high functioning autistic and he has some issues with putting things in his mouth. He also has issues with personal space. He cannot help it and it is not as easy as just telling him don't do this for this reason. The schools are very bad with controlling simple virus spread, flu hits them and our son gets it every time. He also cannot hold down any type of medicine. You as a pharmacist should be able to understand and appreciate that. This kid would prefer to take a shot over taking any medicine including tylenol, he takes liquid or chewables and it comes right back up. He also has potential for cardio issues, he has what his pediatrician called an innocent murmur, he did get an echo when he was 5 that revealed he had no abnormalities at that time. That being said, our family has a history of heart issues. I have a severely calcified bicuspid aortic valve that is stenotic, graded as moderate to severe @ 1.2 cm, normal should be 4 cm. Aortic root is also dilated, cardiologist said we would be discussing surgery next year. Just not worth taking the chances. Schools must be feeling a little pressure. They put out this afternoon that they would be pushing opening back by 2 weeks with hopes that they could open at level 3 as planned. What that means is opening at full capacity rather than having to stagger half of the students. If they open at level 2 they will have to stagger students, sounds like they were not as ready for that as they had hoped to be. The school is offering the first 9 weeks or semester online, this is not for the entire school year. That is all we signed him up for. At this point the school has extended the signups for the online option 3 times now.

Well, fwiw we are sending our 14 year old to high school, but our 9 year old will not be in the classroom but will rather do online distant learning program. After much discussion my wife and I decided last night that with the circumstances around his situation that it was not in his best interest to be in the classroom. We know he won't wear a mask or social distance. It is an unfortunate situation, it puts a 6.5 hour a day burden on me to be his teacher, and he will miss the social interaction and special education services he needs. With over 2000 physicians in the state calling on the governor to delay openings and this thing ticking upwards the way it is, it is just not the right time. County of less than 50,000 having between 15-30 and new cases a day this week, as I understand it means the transmission rate is high and would call for rolling back openings. Tennessee if my math is right has a higher case rate per capita than California.

Another question on this, do you sign a waiver of liability to the school for the risk of covid, releasing the school system of any and all liability? Being required to sign here to have your kids in the schools, but you are required to have them either at school or online schooling.

That is good to know. So the test groups are not a good representation of a mixed group. They should test these vaccines on congress! One way or another we still pay for it, whether it be through taxes or increased costs in other medicines that manufacturers pass along to consumers. Sure thousands have been spared by using vents, however in many it seems that from the reports that once they were bad enough to need a vent they were unlikely to recover. Interesting though that there was the early on screaming about vent shortages by coumo before he ever needed them and he ultimately did not even need them.

Part of the plan here is for all students to be tested in the first weeks back to school to see where they are at. They know there will be different levels of remediation to get kids up to speed. Kind of my thoughts too. Our schools are set to open in less than two weeks. Case counts here are accelerating rather than declining. My point has remained that the schools do not need to set their timeline based on whether or not federal funding will be jeopardized. While I have said I for the most part have been supportive Trump, I absolutely disagree with his threats to withhold federal funds from schools that do not open at their typical scheduled opening timelines. On the flipside, some are suggesting that getting a headstart ahead of a second wave may be an advantage. Kids have been out here since the spring. School exposures have not happened and spread among kids has not happened. Just my perspective, but I think that has been a major factor in the numbers of kids not getting this.

Supposedly astra zenica and pfizer will likely have an approved vaccine this fall and production will make it available for US citizens possibly 100 million for free of charge(er uh paid for by US taxpayer dollars). While they have concluded the vaccine in trials is creating immune response to the coronavirus, there has not been a long enough period to show what side effects are likely. Another concern I would have is what is the health status of the trial study, are they generally healthy and likely to have healthy immune response to exposure without a vaccine. Guessing elderly or people with underlying health issues are not part of the test group???? Also caught part of a story that suggested that vents were in many cases a mistake, causing lung over expansion.

So many with this are asymptomatic and that is attributing to the spread. Catrina has had to send a lot of people home for symptoms that ended up being negative. That is putting a strain on her staffing. Especially when they are having to wait for the results before they can return to work. All the positives she has had were completely asymptomatic. She has had one cna, one housekeeper, and one hospice nurse that was under contract(not one of her employees) that have tested positive. At least for her, the lab they are using is having a better turnaround. They are getting results back in about 4 days. What is crummy is when you are doing your part staying safe distances from others in a not crowded space, and you have people come in behind you in an aisle where you have to either move or take your chances. Last time I was in tractor supply, I was there when the doors opened and a couple guys crowded me on an aisle as if they owned the place. Got me pretty irritated. One cough is all it takes. No matter whether you have an n95 mask or any other mask, if someone coughs on your face or even from behind you, the droplets can get in your eyes. With the stories in the news, it is obvious there are still a lot of people out there taking this as a hoax or a joke. The story that came out last week of the 30 year old that went to a covid party that ended up dying. Sure life needs to go on, but at the same time people do need to take this seriously and not play it off. Of the 30 new cases in the county just south of us according to our local news website, 4 of them were school aged kids 9-17. While that may seem a low percentage, you have to remember that kids here have been out of school since March, which has probably in some ways helped to keep the number with kids lower.

Situation here is fluid, teachers do not even know yet at this point with just 2 weeks to go whether they will be having full classrooms or if it will be at half capacity. Did hear yesterday from Will's special ed teacher that now the elementary school kids will have to wear masks. Heard postponing opening has become a consideration, this thing is getting worse here rather than better. Got the sense there is a LOT of frustration on the part of teachers for this being forced on them. I am going to have to have a heart to heart with the principal over all this, he knows Will and knows the expectation of him wearing a mask all day is unrealistic. He is going to have to have the teachers on the same page.

Not looking too promising at this point. While there are deer around, have yet to see any evidence of anything that would get me interested. No signs of any of the bucks I passed on last year or those we got trail cam pics of post season.
-
Don't really have any experience with bears, but that is interesting. Last fall I did get a sequences of young buck bedding under one of my cameras for a couple hours at a time for 3 or 4 days. Best as I could figure with that was that he was on the trail leading up to that field edge waiting for does.

Catrina went to walmart here yesterday afternoon and it was pretty busy. She said there were very few people wearing masks despite signage everywhere saying it is now mandatory. She said the floor direction signs are totally ignored and people are not social distancing at all. According to data on our local news channel, the zip code in the county to the south of us where the overwhelming majority of cases are located, is a zip that is right on the county line. A LOT of people in that area have kids in the same schools our kids go to.
