  1. yep. Bad when you consider letting spam go to have something to post about.
  2. Welcome to the forums. Closest I know of is https://www.realtree.com/realtree-xtra-colors-white.
  3. Been a fan of the 700's as well. I thought most or all of the cdl stainless fluted came from remington with the laminated wood stock? Assumed the bell and carlson was swapped in. I have considered a boyd stock for my old 700 in .270, they do have some really nice options. I have had one just the way I want it and ready to order just never did order it. Have fun working up some loads for it. Should be able to get some great deer loads as well. I need to run some rounds through the chronograph with a couple soon. I know the .308 loads I have been hunting with are not gonna work with my new .308, have mostly only shot factory loads through it so far, still in break in.
  4. Congratulations Shaun, looks like a nice find. Those have a 24 or 26 inch barrel? Pretty sure those were limited runs on the 257 wby mag with an engraved floor plate. A CDL sf has been on my want list for some time. Found some good deals too but never have pulled the trigger. I did get my varmint sf in 308 a few years back. With the current state of affairs with our upside down self serving govt, I am somewhat hesitant these days to post too much. Read the other day that New Zealand had low compliance on their gun confiscations, so they are now using social media to find offenders.
  5. Nikon has supposedly discontinued their production of rifle scopes. May be some good deals to be had. I just ordered a monarch 3 3-12x42sf bdc for that aero 308. Under $400 with tax.
  6. Yeah Martin is bored and resurrecting old threads. Think some of them are posts he sees users online looking at. lol Still have the same old stihl 024 with 16 inch bar, saw has to be well over 30 years old. Not sure what happened with the stihl, cleaned carb, put in fresh gas, and replaced plug and air cleaner and it still won't start, at least not inside of 15-20 yanks. I guess I need give it another tuneup, it went from being hard to start to won't start, and I am not any longer able to fight with an ornery saw. Bought an echo cs400 with an 18 inch about 9 years ago, has been great, so much so that I bought an echo string trimmer as well and would not hesitate to buy any other echo products. At one time I had both the stihl and echo running well and starting easy. Seems with sharp chains and all else being equal the stihl might have a slight edge with cutting bigger stuff due to the weight of the saw, but the echo probably cuts just as fast and is much easier to tote around.
  7. Congratulations on the doe Don. Last sit of the season for deer for me this afternoon with season closing today. Pretty windy and warm, not really much for expectations but never know if you don't go.
  8. Not seen your clip Lewis, but seen some shows, and no doubt a tough and dangerous job. Will try to come back and watch sometime when I can get on my computer.
  9. Closing weekend of our general season here. Plan to get a few sits in, but no realistic expectation of seeing any deer that would trip the trigger. What does everyone have going on, anyone still hunting.
  10. Blunder boy Biden is an even bigger joke. Amazes me the hipocrisy. Funny how a thread likes this gets resurrected with a cut and paste from a legit member within this thread. Spam.

  12. Pecans and apples here. Too bad there is not a season on them, they are very destructive.

    2019 in Review

Congratulations again Frank on getting the great piece of property and already having it pay off for you.
  14. Thanks Corey. I took as many as I could, unfortunately the batteries on my good camera died. Phone took pretty decent pics. I really liked this one, canvas wrapped stand is in the background, he was broadside when I shot. I had trail cam pictures I believe may have been this deer in the bottom about a quarter of a mile away as a crow flies, that was about 35 minutes before I shot him. I am very thankful for the season we have had. I am also glad the wide 8 did NOT give me a shot. Luck broke my way.... The wide 8 was still alive on Dec 20th, a ton of fresh scrapes along that edge the trail camera is on.
  15. Sorry I am not any help, but welcome to the forums and best of luck to you. Used to be a couple regulars on here from Kansas, but have not seen them around in a while.
  16. Everyone have a safe and very Merry Christmas.
  17. Glad you figured out how to get your pics not be sideways Frank. lol. Good luck with the remainder of the season. Looks like you are gonna have some nice ones make it through for next year.

    parts

Aside from midway, who do you use for parts for guns? Seems brownells has a great selection and stocks most everything you would need, but prices and are not so great unless you have a coupon code. So who do you use?
  19. The wide 8, I was in the stand at the time he was there but did not see him until a few minutes later. He had worked a scrape right above the camera. Just before I shot the 8 I killed, just 42 minutes after the wide 8 had been in the same area.
  20. Thanks Frank. I am guessing he will be in the top 3 since my first buck 25 years ago. Checked cams this morning and as it turns out the older heavy bodied wide 8 did in fact move through and was probably the deer that circled around me. We had not had any pics of this 8 prior to the morning I killed him. Will get some of those tc pics resized and uploaded later this afternoon. The wide 8 was still around as of yesterday.
  21. Talked a little with taxidermist about this. He said early on he was seeing several deer with way more than normal fat and he said it had him thinking we are in for a hard winter. Guess we will see in the coming months.

    Property Dispute

How much land did he have? Can't imagine any kind of reputable outfitter fooling with a smaller parcel. Yeah would not rush it, but definitely stay on top of what is taking place. Sometimes places change hands with no warning.
  23. About fell out of my chair when nancy started spewing off about not hating Trump and saying she is a Christian. Their agenda was never a secret. maxine waters was screaming "impeach 45" the day he won the election.
  24. No first hand experience with primary arms optics. I just bought an aero upper from primary arms recently though and was happy with their price and shipping time. Now trying to figure out what glass is going to go on that setup.

    Property Dispute

So you either will have a new neighbor in the future, or his family will hold on to it, or you may have an opportunity to buy it too........ Good luck Frank.
