Still have the same old stihl 024 with 16 inch bar, saw has to be well over 30 years old. Not sure what happened with the stihl, cleaned carb, put in fresh gas, and replaced plug and air cleaner and it still won't start, at least not inside of 15-20 yanks. I guess I need give it another tuneup, it went from being hard to start to won't start, and I am not any longer able to fight with an ornery saw. Bought an echo cs400 with an 18 inch about 9 years ago, has been great, so much so that I bought an echo string trimmer as well and would not hesitate to buy any other echo products. At one time I had both the stihl and echo running well and starting easy. Seems with sharp chains and all else being equal the stihl might have a slight edge with cutting bigger stuff due to the weight of the saw, but the echo probably cuts just as fast and is much easier to tote around.
