Need to do some yardwork. Been more limited on how much I can tolerate being outside in the heat, blood pressure been wacky from being too high to bottoming out after just a couple hours of working with the tractor. Had a beaver dam in the bottom that had us holding water on about half of the ground I let my cows out on over the summer. After having a couple end up with foot rot have had to cut them back off that ground. There was a tree fallen over the path to get to the dam. Of course the tree was covered in the ivy. Opted to order some ivy x pre contact to see if it would really work before cutting the tree out of the way and that finally got here and had time to cut the tree down yesterday. Busted the dam with the front end loader on the tractor yesterday, need to check it again some time this weekend. If I have to bust it again will probably have to take ramps and a chain to keep from burying the front end of the tractor and getting hung.

Man I don't guess I ever realized it was Dr. David Ashburn who made this post. Interesting timing for this post coming back for me........ Waiting for a follow up for some answers with cardiologist, but looking ahead a cardio thoracic surgeon is in my not too far future and honestly not liking any of my potential options.

Would sure be nice to have another tractor and one with air in a cab would be a dream. Will get a trail cam on the beans in the bottom soon.

Looks like a nice machine Frank and sounds like you got a good deal.

Did end up buying some of the TN elk tag raffle tickets, can still dream right. Drawing was this morning at 10 am, supposed to announce the winners the 16th I think.

Looks like a good trail. Sometimes these devices seem to have a mind of their own with no obvious reasons for glitches.

Cabela's used to be my go to but dunno since the bass pro takeover. Rocky is one I would avoid.

Biggest changes here are with the addition of the cwd zones. Does not really impact those hunting outside the zones. We have the early archery velvet hunt the end of this month, nothing here on trail cams to get me wanting to sit in the heat and fight with the deer flies and skeeters. At this point honestly do not know how much hunting I will do this fall, sure I will get the kids out some and hopefully make it out with the muzzleloader a few times.

Yardwork, lots of other odds and ends around this place. Will likely relax some Sunday afternoon in the recliner holding my granddaughter.

Dunno, seems to me that generally speaking there are no shortage of those out there in this day and age who are very quick to want to pat themselves on the back or get likes on social media all the while being total hypocrites. I tend to agree that there is a lack of respect even though there is better awareness, no shortage of people out there who just give a rats rear less about anything but themselves. Goes with the lack of common courtesy, just don't see it as much in today's world as you used to. It is indeed sad.

Yep, a few does around, but bucks around the cam have been very limited. Hopefully just a summer lull. Best here so far has been another goofy buck that has just a beam and a brow on his right side and at least 4 on the left, figured he was at least 3.5. Had two 8 pointers I knew made it through, one was really nice, the other was the little 8 my youngest daughter did not shoot when she had an opportunity. That younger 8 was around our place very regular last fall so stumped as to why he has not made a showing this summer. I need to get a couple more cameras out.

Congratulations to you and your family Shaun. Bet Emma is gonna be a great help and proud big sister.

Very cool character on that last one. Some nice bucks around your new place Frank. Last pull I had I had ZERO bucks in 2 weeks.

Seem to be about right to me.

Have a lot of outside stuff to try to catch up on. May have to mow the yard high and mow it again a little lower. Probably try to check plots and the one camera I have out at some point. Broke a universal on the driveshaft on my bushhog, got a new one and got the cap on one side drove in and realized after the other cap would not line up that the shaft yokes are slightly bent. Now cannot get the cap back out. May try to work on that, but probably gonna end up having to take it to a machine shop.

For a long time I used cabelas maple cure/brine, but have started using a 50/50 mix of kosher salt and brown sugar. Best as I can remember I use about a half cup of each per gallon. Inner loins don't take long at 225, usually takes less than 2 hours they are done. Most often when I put loins on I am cooking something else at the same time. I use the brown sugar and kosher salt brine pretty regularly for pork and poultry too. Depending on what I am using it for usually will add garlic, black pepper, sometimes chili powder and cumin, doesn't take much like a tsp or so of each.

Looks delicious and tender Ross. Have smoked many inner loins, but don't recall ever doing a whole backstrap. Sure it would do fine if you keep a full water pan. For the inner loins, I usually brine them and use hickory and pecan. Low and slow at 225. Had a many of people try the smoked inner loins that never would have guessed it was deer.

Have quite a bit of outside work to do before it rains again. Not much else.

Yep, she has a great voice. She was one of the good ones from American idol that should have gone further, probably the last year we followed any of it. Best as I remember they made her jump through a lot of hoops and gave more criticism, more so than most.

Scary stuff for sure. Imagine in such an event there would be an increased state of theft of firearms from owners. Then too you have to wonder about how many with thousands or tens of thousands of dollars worth of firearms are going to just willingly hand any or all of them over. The what if scenario's get pretty ugly very quickly especially when looking at the tech that our govt has. Are feds gonna show up in black suv's at every gun owner who does not voluntarily handover their weapons? Will our gov't issue warrants for every home? They already have the ability to watch you or me or anyone in our homes and hit it with a drone. Takes the human interaction away from the mix, but still who is gonna sit in a control room and remotely send the signal to a drone to kill families. At what point would an uprising within the gov't take place? Yep. Then scream racism or hate. Or whatever they can scream to grab the attention to their cause all the while demonizing those who inject common sense who do not agree with them. I really do not understand what is taking place in this country with the pc nonsense and the sensitivity issues, but I know the direction we are headed is dangerous. Why are so many falling into the liberal mindset and blindly following these ideas of the left? When presidential candidates are apologizing not for his actions but for being a white man, what really is going on? The goal of the radical left seems pretty clear to me, what I don't get is how intelligent people are letting themselves be duped.

Tennessee passed legislation after Sandy Hook that said they would not comply with ANY federal confiscations or bans. Further if I understand that legislation correctly they would also not enforce as in state and local law enforcement would go against any attempts at federal enforcement of such. The legislation you speak of, if passed, may well precipitate the beginning of a second civil war in this country. Feds are outnumbered, how many soldiers are hard core enough for Uncle Sam to turn on their families. Scary stuff. With all that being said I have been giving serious consideration to this very topic and hope it would never come to it.

Digging up bones....... Seems to be a few newb's doing this, not so sure the motives of the one in this thread. But gonna guess it will turn out to be another spammer.

Catrina's is a 9. It does great with the Hornady critical defense rds. Bought several boxes of the Israeli stuff(dicut jhp) and it also is pretty impressive.
